Some People...

So it is Thursday so now is the time I should rant about something which is bothering me. Well there are quite a few things that are bothering me lately, but one which I think is worth mention here is "The game is dead". I absolutely hate this phrase which tends to be thrown around by way too many gamers.

So people tend to say this when a game they are playing isn't what they want to play anymore. Or they are some sort of person that thinks they need some attention. Other times sure it may be true less and less people may be playing a specific game. That tends to happen due to age or the game may just be bad.

The times it bugs me is when people say it when they know nothing what they are talking about. Or respond on a forum do people still play this dead game. Obviously if people are posting on a forum about a game, people play it. Also if people are posting on a forum asking a question they are respecting a response therefore other people play the game.

I also love when people stop streaming a particular game the end of days people come out and blame the whole thing on the developers letting the game die. What it really means? Probably the streamer has moved on or took a break from the game.

I swear I have heard people saying WoW has been dying for years. Do less people play it? Yes, of course, but millions of people still play the game. It still makes a substantial profit so obviously the game is still going full force. What you need to realize is that people from all over the world are not you. So just because you say a game is dying doesn't mean people will all of the sudden people will stop playing.

Sorry to tell you the earth revolves around something, but that thing is not you.

I Failed Humanity Once Before...And I Will Not Do So Again

Wednesday! Yes here we are in the middle of the week once again. Getting closer and closer to the weekend and Canada Day is fast approaching. With all the fireworks we are going to see this coming weekend I thought it was appropriate for this week's list to do who I think may be the best wizards in video games. So here goes.

5. Magikoopa

So as one of King Koopa's main underlings and one who in almost all cases is more difficult of an enemy then the king himself he gets the nod.

4. Magicka Wizards

Can travel through time and combine elements on the fly all the while crossing streams. Yes they are a formidable force

3.Shang Tsung

"Your soul is mine" will be forever what he is known for. The boss of the boss in the world of Mortal Kombat. Plus he can shapeshift.

2. Vivi

Don't let his small stature fool you. The power he wields is something everyone in Gaia fears. Even his other Black Mage brothers recognize his power.

1. Medivh

He is the last guardian. He absorbed all the power of the Guardians of Trisfal and their power is his to wield and no other. Not to mention he killed them all so this power could never be transferred from him. He has no match it is quite simple.

There they are my choices for the best wizards in gaming. Have an opinion on someone I may have missed? As always let me know in one way or another.

You Fail At Grinding If...

Fail Day! Yes it is that time of the week once again where we get to make others feel worse so we can feel better. I know it is a beautiful thing isn't it? What is on tap this week? Well sometimes people play games and don't understand the whole concept of grinding. Well this is for them,

You Fail At Grinding If...
  • You don't really play RPGs
  • You are always undergeared
  • You always are poor and end up begging
  • You always check for real money ways to get ahead
  • You have entitlement issues
  • You don't get why you don't have pretty and shiny things
  • You die repeatably on easy encounters
  • You don't understand the concept of leveling
  • You believe things can and always can be down your way
  • You googled grinding upon reading this
  • You just don't understand why you have to

And Finally
  • You are never able to complete RPGs

There you have it. This week's edition of fail. Hope you all enjoyed it or maybe even learned something.

Enemy At The Gate

It's Monday and everyone is recovering how we will have to wait almost a year to the next new episode of Game of Thrones. So while you are in your slight depression why not check out what I will be showcasing this week for Machinima Monday. We can thank Carbot Animations for this week's entry and everyone's favourite evil Zerg Abathur. Enjoy!

Ask Gauss

Sunday! A crazy Sunday for sure since unless you live under a rock you will be watching the Game of Thrones season finale. While you are wishing the hours today though I see that you have arrived here to see what questions I will be answering for the week. So why not get right to it.

What are your thoughts on the SC2 Ladder changes coming?

Well first for those that don't know

As for what I think? Well this is something which I have wanted for awhile. I think having a ladder where you can actually see for progression will get people to play on it more because they will notice they are actually going somewhere. Also having a Grandmaster which is actually active in promotions and demotion makes for a much more interesting ladder from a fan perspective and for the aspiring player. So really I cannot complain about anything in this revamp at all.

Do you like Whispers of the Old Gods?

I think it adds fun to the game. Sure it can be a bit frustrating at times, but it never is a dull moment. Also tends to mean that a player isn't truly out of the game because a flip can happen at any moment. Not to mention I think it has made Tavern Brawls a whole lot of fun because of the unpredictability. I know at lower ranks people complain about C'Thun, but really it is phasing itself out every game at higher ranks and with players having a larger selection. So yes to answer the question.

Who is going to die on Game of Thrones?

Someone's favourite character.

There they are this week's questions all answered. Hopefully you got something out of it in some way or another. Now back to your Game of Thrones countdown.

Competitive Toxicty

Friday! Yes here we are getting ready for the weekend and going over what we could be doing for the weekend. One thing you could do is try out the Competitive mode in Overwatch. To also go along with my post yesterday about toxic players figured I would share this submission from Djthed. So have a read.

In Competitive mode, it's hard to improve as a player with the toxicity.

Been playing the Competitive mode in the PTR for the past few days. Until lately, it's been an alright experience despite the problems with the Competitive mode itself. I'm taking this as an opportunity as a next step to learn more and get better as a player and become more competitive. Since this is still in beta and the competitive level progress will not be saved over into the main game, it seems perfect.

Earlier today, I encountered a teammate who wasn't so fond of how I was playing Mercy. He started throwing insults at me calling me stupid, idiot, dumb***, etc., etc, and started telling me what to do. He wasn't the only one like this that I encountered, but this one stood out. Also, mind you, I'm not implying that he's a bad player who doesn't know what he was doing and, to an extent... ignoring the insults, he was right in some of the instructions I was given. If he wasn't being so unpleasant to be around he would've gotten better results.

He was right that my positioning could be better so that I wouldn't die and so I can throw out more Resurrections. According to him I was also not healing him... enough? I don't know. I always stay aware of my teammate's positions and current health so that I can heal them when they retreat, always prioritizing critically low health heroes closer to the front line more likely to take damage and all that. He was playing Hanzo most of the time too, so snipers in general are usually last to get healed by me. Perhaps I'm not playing her right after 26 or so hours of Mercy, which could very well be the case. Wouldn't be surprised about that.

But this guy... Judging my overall intelligence just based off of this one match through insults? Ignoring the fact that I can just take a suggestion and get better because of it?... He eventually said I should switch to Lucio since I kept getting jumped... Along with more insults. If I wasn't so pissed in the moment I wouldn't have hesitated. Lucio would have done better, but due to his attitude and me just generally being on tilt because of all this I deliberately stayed Mercy in spite. Not a smart choice by me, I know now after calming down, but I couldn't help it in the moment. While this all is very frustrating, I wouldn't stop trying to improve and quit because of it. I know I'll just have to tough it out as I learn the game and get better. I want to get better.

I don't think making this post will solve anything, but people like this need to stop doing this and realize that what they are doing is putting the whole team in a bad vibe, decreasing the overall performance of the team and usually causing a loss. If they were capable of holding off the insults and just give normal suggestions it would lead to an overall better experience for the whole team of 6.

Thanks for reading... I just needed to get this off my chest. I just hope the competitive community improves.

Just what I was talking about yesterday. Something to think about while you are trying it out.

Toxic Players What To Do?

So this is the time in the week where I normally rant on something, which has been bothering me for awhile. Now I am going to go off this week on something that has been going on forever and probably never going to go away, but that won't stop me from talking about it. What is it you ask? Well it is toxic players. I am not even entirely sure if I have spoke to this before in the way I am going to today, but that is not going to stop me.

So what is a toxic player? Well it is the type of gamer that exists in an online game for makes the environment not has enjoyable to others they are playing with. This can happen in a variety of ways. They could be raging or chirping their team, they could just choose to not play, purposely loose for some odd reason and so on and so forth. We have all encountered them it happens.

What I don't think is the way we deal with them is effective. In free to play games they can be a real problem because if bans or suspensions happen they can always create another account and continue on with their ways of gaming. If paid games these have much more effective tactics as long as they are dealt with accordingly. Problem is why do these gamers keep poping up if they are being dealt with?

Well that is simple. We as gamers are not dealing with them accordingly. We are letting them do their thing or reacting to their behaviour giving in to exactly what they want. Just like people on forums who feed the trolls. The simple solution to solve the problem is just to pretend they don't exist. This though seems to be a bigger problem then to scratch that spot in your back that your arms aren't long enough to reach.

Stop complaining about toxic players because doing so will just spawn them. Stop giving them credit for ruining your gaming experience because that just gives them reasons to keep doing it. It is hard, but I am sure you all can do it.

It's A Very Long Involved Story

Here we are on yet another Wednesday throwing ideas around about the next list. They I started thinking that about games that are stupid, and there are a bunch of games out there that are stupid and most of the time they are just awful. Once in awhile though you come across a game that is stupid, but a total blast to play. So here is my list of stupid games that are a blast to play.

5. Just Cause 2

It is like enjoying a seaside resort of your dreams and then everything blows up like it is a Michael Bay movie. You also have a limitless supply of fighter jets, so there is that.

4. Jazzpunk

It is like a weird dream where sketch comedy takes over and then turns into a spy thriller which everyone speaks like their mouths are full for some unknown reason.

3. Goat Simulator

The game was released on April Fools and the company themselves said there were better options to spend your $10 on. It is a physics simulator with a goat main character can you think of anything more fun?

2. Saints Row Series

Anything you have ever wanted to do in a game you can do in one of the Saints Row games. I honestly would love to be at a developer meeting when they are sprouting ideas about.

1.  Psychonauts

Are you sad you are an adult and can't enjoy all the fun of summer camp anymore? So think of that, but then with the twist of counselors who try to kill you with the powers of their minds.

So are there any stupid games that are actually a blast to play? Let me know in one way or another as always.

You Fail At Knowing What Happened At E3 If...

Fail Day! Yes it is that day of the week. It is actually the first Fail Day of the summer, well that is if you are joining me in the Northern Hemisphere, which if I am to believe the numbers to the blog it isn't always the case. E3 was last week hopefully you were aware of it. If not then this blog kind of explains itself. So let's take a look back and see how much you really took in.

You Fail At Knowing What Happened At E3 If...

  • You didn't learn anything new about the VR market
  • You are not in the least bit curious about the new Zelda game
  • You didn't catch Prey is finally coming
  • You did not like what you saw from "For Honor"
  • You are not pumped for a new Skyrim
  • You are not happy Norman Reedus is finally getting to be a main character in a game
  • You missed the Playstation branding
  • You didn't see EA is not against pumping their own tires
  • You are not curious about the "new" God of War
  • You didn't catch the Playstation Neo announcement
  • You didn't think Battlefield 1 lost something
  • You cared about any xbox announcements

And Finally

  • You don't care in the least about E3

There you have it this week's edition of fail. Hope you all enjoyed it in some form or another. If not then oh well, you are probably morning Ramsay's death.

The Complete Saga

Monday. Yes here we are starting yet another week, and wondering where it is going to take us. So as always the best way to get things started is to showcase a video here on Machinima Monday. This week I have a fan made trailer for the Assassin's Creed series created by White24Room. As with anything he has created there are always a treat to watch.

Now don't you want to play some Assassin's Creed?

Ask Gauss

Sunday. Yes it is that time of the week and while everyone may be wishing away the day till they can watch "The Battle of the Bastards" there is still some time till we are there. So why not stay awhile and read this week's Ask Gauss and see what questions I am answering today.

What did you think of this years E3?

After what was pretty jam packed few days of sensory overload I am looking back on it and in my mind it was a big win for VR. Ever since "The Virtual Boy" I have been very put off from anything VR. Now technology has changed quite a bit since then, but I was pleasantly impressed with everything I saw. I would even go so far as to say I am excited to get m hands on some of it. So if that isn't a big revelation I don't know what is.

What did you think was the most ridiculous thing at E3?

The fact that everything close to Playstation had to have its logo. Did anyone else notice this? Even their water bottles and wipes needed to have the logo on it. I understand branding, but then there is something about going a little too far. Maybe their E3 budget was higher than expected and were like end of the year teachers at an office supply store? Even if that was the case at least it was somewhat amusing to look back on.

So who wins the Snowbowl?

A bastard

There they are all the questions for the week. Hope you got something out of it in one way or another.

Call Of The Wild

Friday. Yes the weekend is just about here, and I assume you have lots of things going through your mind. I am here to make sure you have another with this week's Reader Post brought to you by Lilz. He has some thoughts on Hearthstone and the card "Call of the Wild". Enjoy!

It's been a while since I have thought about specific cards but I wanted to hear your thoughts. I actually searched the forums for Call of the Wild and the most recent posting was from May. And it was a post about how "OP" Call of the Wild is. This post is not focused around that.

Nearly every hunter I've played since Whispers of the Old Gods came out is playing this card. The only Hunters I haven't seen play this card are Hunters who I've beaten before turn 8. Is this card an auto include in every Hunter deck?

Call of the Wild is not anything near the pre- "New Way To Play" Force of Nature+Savage Roar combo, but it's seemingly a no brainer auto-include in nearly every Hunter deck. So I ask the question, was a main point of changing Force of Nature + Savage Roar (besides it's almost OTK potential) not to make a Druid have to make decisions when building decks? So then why would they not follow suit for Hunter? I was under the impression that the only cards which should nearly always feel like auto-includes would be Classic cards since they will be staples of Standard for the foreseeable future.

If so, then doesn't Call of the Wild just seem counter-intuitive to what the Hearthstone team was trying to accomplish moving froward from Whmind.rs of the Old Gods? Don’t you think so?

Well what do you all think? Plenty of thoughts for the weekend?

E3 Is What It Is

So as you probably know E3 is going on. You know one of the time gamers from all over the world look to for great news on their favourite properties for the year. See if there is any announcements or shocks that they can get pumped up for. This is not only great for the industry, but for the gaming community as a whole. It gives us something to connect to each other with.

Now something that people can't stop arguing about is the fact that whatever shown at E3 is basically just flavour to get people hyped and talking about their game. Yes it is true. Companies come to E3 and show off their properties and get them talking about it. This really is the only reason for companies to participate. Now in previous years companies have been caught using trailers, clips and such that contains nothing from the actual game as a whole. These pieces were merely created for E3 and the purpose of selling their games in the future. Because this has happened though some people decide to cast off people who enjoy anything they see at E3 as just a purpose to get people talking and pre-ordering their game and then all consumers will be let down in the future.

This is a pretty half empty approach. Yes companies have used the practice, but any game looking for pre-orders at E3 is generally pretty close to shipping and not as most things are and that being at least a year away. Games in this day in age are announced way before shipping. Games advertising pre-orders are in all likelihood not announcing their game for the first time during E3.

So it is simple, do your research don't be a lemming. That includes listening to the guy saying everyone lies at E3 and it is worthless to tune in. So enjoy E3 for what it is not what someone else thinks it is.

Nothing Microsoft Here

So it is Wednesday, and if you haven't been living under a rock then you currently know that something by the name of E3 has been going on. With that comes lots of exciting news so I thought for this week's list I would give you the run down of the things so far that have grabbed my attention.

5. Crash Remaster

So I love Crash and always enjoy a good platform game. Also love an excuse to buy a great platform game to waste some time on. So yes Remastered Crash is an awesome thing

4. Death Standing

So Norman Reedus was supposed to be in Kojima's game Silent Hills, but as we know that game died sadly. So this is the next attempt to get something out with the two of them working together again. So far looks great just hoping it doesn't take the same path.

3. Finally Prey

This game has been rumored for years I believe was actually announced as Prey 2 five years ago at E3. There has been much talk of it being canceled over the years, but the silence has been broken and we are finally getting a chance to get our hands on it.

2. New God Of War

Who doesn't like a God of War game? It is like playing Diablo you can just pick it up and smash and kill things and is never not fun. Now God of War is moving to Norse Mythology? Ya I am ready for this one.

1. For Honor

So Ubisoft has already announced this game for February next year. The thing is we got to see an epic 10 minutes of Vikings kicking some serious ass, and who doesn't love a good viking asskicking? Ya that's what I am talking about.

There you have it this week's list. What have you all seen that has you all excited? As always let me know in one way or another.

You Fail At Being Ready For E3 If...

Fail Day! Everyone's favourite day of the week. Still unsure how to feel about that after all these years, but it is what it is. You may also be aware that today is the first day of E3, and how could I pass that up for a Fail Day.

You Fail At Being Ready For E3 If...

  • You had no idea it started today
  • You don't like no random tech
  • You don't believe any new games which are worthwhile will be announced
  • You are interested in anything related to xbox
  • You didn't watch any of the pre E3 press conferences
  • You don't like watching new game trailers
  • You don't like to see new IPs
  • You are not excited to see what companies flop their announcements
  • You don't remember the "used game" fisaco
  • You don't have a checklist for HD remasters ready to check some off
  • You are not looking for some news on VR developments

And Finally

  • You have no idea what the three E's stand for

There you have it this week's edition of Fail. Hope you all enjoyed it, and are ready for all the fun and excitement to come.

Ask Gauss

Sunday! Yes your weekend is coming to an end. I am sorry I am the breaker of bad news, but truthfully this really shouldn't be news. Just like the fact that Sunday is the day that I come here and answer questions for all of you. So before thinking of a better way to intro this post why don't I just get to it.

Are you ready for E3?

Well if by ready you mean the reveals and all that jazz then yes. There really is nothing like that in the world of electronics and gaming. So much news in a short period of time really is a great time to be interested in such things. There are some interesting pre-E3 rumors that have me interested, which I could mention but I don't want to jinx it. So I will just say I am hoping for good things.

Do you think the good reviews for Warcraft are only from fanboys?

Actually no. So fanboys tend to accept games no matter how good or bad they are. One thing that gamers always talk and complain about regardless though is the lore and the story. If something doesn't flow or make sense or mesh well they will let you know. This is why I will trust gamers review of the movie more than anyone, because they will rip it to shreds if something doesn't fit right. So with the most critical people give the story a nod then I am taking it for what it is.

Shadow of Mordor 2?

Shhhh

There you have it all the questions answered for the week. Thanks to everyone who sent something in this week if it was answered here or not. As always this would not be possible without your input. Now enjoy what is left of your weekend.

Brothers Stormrage

Friday! Yes here you are and the weekend is just about upon us. With that on the way means that you must be here seeing what is on tap for the reader post this week. Well EnigmaAddict has something for us this week talking about Warcraft's favourite brothers and what could be in store for them come legion. Enjoy the read.

Illidan's return might be the most exciting hero return in Warcraft yet, and I'm really looking forward to it. I never truly felt he was a bad guy and was totally mis-understood... can you imagine how insane his return would be to his people?

What do you think will happen?

Did we ever see the Stormrage twins like really team up and tear the place down? I dunno about you but I'd love to actually see them team up and kick ass together!!

How do you think Illidan's return with all the revelations of the Legion that we now know would be taken by his people? You know I always thought that Illidan's return would somehow galvanise the otherwise depressing night elves to remember they were once badass and kick some ASS. I wonder if we will have some decent adventures of the Stormrage twins - maybe it's hard for 10k year old bros to be buds again and wipe the floor after all their ..."disagreements" but it would be awesome.

But seriously, what do you reckon would happen? Also .. another question, the Stormrages and Tyrande and the Shadowsong's are all from Suramar City too. what would happen when the inevitable re-union with the Nightborne occur? Would Elisande be dead by then and Thalyssra in charge? because it would be a very different scenario if they meet a nightborne group with Elisande in charge than if they meet one with Thalyssra in charge.

Do you think Illidan Stormrage would end up leading the Nightborne and the Broken Isle group of Night Elves? I mean they are a bit different than the Western Kalimdor group - one being pre-sundering civilization that Illidan is use to as well as many of the normal night elves on the island would be more intune with having being separated from the main group who did the vigil and ended it now in a post vigil civilization?

Besides do you think Illidan would forgive them if they accept him? Afterall he has only ever wanted to save his people and help them return to greatness - The priesthood locked and guarded him but, it was Tyrande who he still loves that set him free. He may not like Maiev at all, but she is now on board and working for and not against the demon hunters and there is a bigger threat... dear oh dear...what will be?

Well your thoughts? Or have you had enough Brother's Stormrage? Whatever side of the coin you are on enjoy your weekend

At Least Know What You Are Reviewing

So I haven't seen the Warcraft Movie yet. I don't know if it is good or not. I know it will make money regardless if the movie is received poorly by critics, which if Transformers franchise has proved anything if it makes money they will keep making them. So I believe we will be seeing more Warcraft Movies in the future.

With that out of the way I am just sitting reading some of the reviews that have taken place, and I really don't know what to say. I know the fantasy genre never goes over well with critics. These are the people that picked movies for best picture each year that leaves the public scratching their heads the day they award it and then years later wonder what were they thinking.

So fantasy movies don't review well, and video game movies generally even worse, because in my mind the critics don't think they belong. Reading the reviews basically drives this point home. Complaining about names, about there being no "good" side, will be enjoyed by basement dwellers and nerds, must be an up to date subscriber to understand, and these were just were just some of them. Critics in my mind just like I point out with game reviews should actually be educated on what they are actually reviewing. If you know nothing about the subject matter why should I listen to you. Myself as someone who knows the franchise these reviews offer nothing to me besides obviously pointing out you know nothing about the subject matter. The point of a review is to get a grasp on what you are thinking about going to see. These views offer nothing towards that. All they show is that the critics are out of touch with the job they are getting paid to do.

Well regardless I will watch it and give my own opinion based on someone who knows the material and how well it was transferred to the big screen. At least I know what it should be.

It's About Time

With the Warcraft movie just a couple days away, and hoping that this is the start of a movie franchise where we can look forward to more movies down the road. I was thinking for this week's list I would rank what I think the most important stories we could see on the big screen based on the success of this movie. So here goes.

5. Lord of the Clans

The story of Thrall's rise is one which has always interested me. We can see in the movie spots that they are making it a point to show Thrall as a child. So they are preparing to do this story in my mind it is just a matter of when.

4. The Third War

Warcraft III is one of Blizzard's most successful games. It also was the expansion of the universe in scope of the world and the races. It really would be a great showcase for the universe once it has established itself.

3. War of the Ancients

The beginnings of the Stormrage brothers really is one of the greatest stories of sibling rivarly there is. This really gets you on the path to make a choice of which brother is truly right and which really was ashamed of what is right.

2. The Lich King

I don't mean this in the sense of the entire story of the Lich King and how he was created, but more so in the story of Arthas. The beginning which we saw played out in Frozen Throne and the end how we saw it played out in Wrath of the Lich King. To me it really is Warcraft's story of Darth Vader

1. A Starcraft Movie

Well if the Warcraft franchise is successful why not bring the other universes into the fold. Starcraft has a great lore base and one that I think would translate well onto the big screen in a much easier than the other franchises. Plus I have always wanted a Starcraft movie.

There you have it. What are your thoughts on the subject? Are you hoping for something different? As always let me know in one way or another.

You Fail At Streaming If...

Fail Day! Yes here we are again to celebrate our ability to make others feel worse. Yes, we are awful human beings, but at least we are enjoying ourselves. As always is the case with Fail Day I think long and hard about what my topics will be. This week it is all about streaming and those that just don't have it. So here goes.

You Fail At Streaming If...

  • Your ability to entertain is surpassed by paint drying
  • Your chat is always an arguement on why you are a sellout
  • You plug sponsors or people who you want to sponsor you every half hour
  • You celebrate a 12 hour stream as if it is a rare occourance for you
  • You play retro games like they are new games
  • Your connection cannot support an HD stream
  • Your donations are based on how little of your skin is covered
  • You try to copy other successful streams
  • You can't remember the last time you played a game on your gaming stream
  • You have a donation tracker that cannot even remember your last donation
  • Your only subscriber is your mother
  • Your mods need to moderate themselves

And Finally

  • Everybody watching your stream is waiting for an "accident"

There you have it this week's edition of Fail. Hope you all enjoyed it and maybe just maybe those who need direction have a way of getting it.

Juno's Return

Monday. Yes here we are at the start of another week wondering how you are going to survive through it. While you are dealing with that though enjoy this week's showcase video by White24Room based on Assassin's Creed and Juno's Return.

Now you can get on with your week.

Ask Gauss

Sunday! Yes here we are with yet another weekend coming to an end. Well at least we have Game of Thrones to keep us from forgetting tomorrow is Monday. Also have me to pass some of the time while checking out the questions and the answers I have for the week. So here I go getting to it.

Why are people cheating at Overwatch?

Well I assume you are referring to the bans by Blizzard. You see some people just have to get the highest score no matter what. They feel this makes them a better human being. Also some people tend to buff up accounts and then sell them. Now this only exists because people don't want to work for anything and are entitled. So either way this really is a problem with a small amount of people who just are that special kind of stupid.

Is Twitch being ruined, by these banned streamers?

I don't think it is being ruined, but I don't think these streamers make the gaming community look very good at all. They just at to gamer stereotypes and to me this is the worst thing possible. Gamers are everyday people who do everyday things. They are not people who live in their mom's basement who beyond overweight and useless to the world. I am sure some of those people exist, but by supporting this useless streamers all this will do is make the public's perception of gamers be one which will not allow gaming to break through to sponsors, which just makes Esports' climb not a good one. So think of it this way every time you support a useless streamer a pro gamer retires because he is unable to support himself, and therefore makes the Esports scene less interesting.

Plan on seeing the Warcraft Movie this week?

Obviously.

There they are the questions for the week. Hope you all got something out of it in one way or another. As always thank you to everyone who sent in a question this would not be possible without your input. Now you have my permission to enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Faction Specific

Friday, which means it is time for me to pick post for the Reader Post this week. This week decided to go with a post from Arrashi who points out how in World of Warcraft Faction specific quests have been tone down in recent expansions. Now I believe this is due to time constraints and how really the game's story experience isn't supposed to be about making people leveling alts more enjoyable. To that end though I will say the faction specific leveling experience of Wrath was one of my favourites. With all that information going on in your head now, here is this week's Reader Post.

Do you guys think blizzard should go back to more vanilla concept, and give us more faction quests rather than just all neutral or mirrored questlines ?

If you played in Vanilla (or generally pre-Cata) you will know that back then huge amount of quest/questlines were faction specific. From leveling quests in low level zones, to high level dungeons like blackrock or attunements (remember looking for Rexxar ?), there was a lot of quests that would involve faction NPCs, and give us more insight into races and their themes.

This continued in BC, where while we saw more neutral quests, we still had a lot of faction settlements and quests. And just as we have neutral druids in Zangarmarsh, we can also find there Darkspear/Draenei settlements and questgivers. Another example is Nagrand where while some quests share the theme, we still have quests like thralls reunion with Geyah.

Even in WoLK, we still had a lot of unique quests in areas like boring tundra or howling fjord, giving us nice balance of faction and neutral quests.

And then Cataclysm happens where 3 out of 5 zones are purely neutral, Vash'ir is basically only mirror quests, and only highlands offer some unique experience.

In MoP we once again had majority of neutral zones, but it was (at least partially) balanced out by 5.1 and 5.2 questlines.

And then happened WoD, and far all its flaws and shortcomings did one small thing right - faction starting areas. At least in my opinion, both Frostfire and Shadowmoon were unique to factions and this allowed them to tell much more "focused" story.

So to finish that wall of text - do you prefer more of Cataclysm/MoP approach or would you prefer return of longer and more prevalent faction quests?

What are your opinions? Do you think the time should be put in for more faction specific content? Something to think about for the weekend.

MMR Fix

Thursday and normally is the case I go off about something that is bothering me. Today I am going to talk about something that does need a fix. Now everyone who has played Heroes of the Storm knows that its MMR is a little out of whack and people who realize it is being worked on know that is why we are still in Pre-Season.

Now Blizzard is adding unranked draft mode to Heroes which will give people an option to try out heroes without the risk of ruining other peoples ranks and their owns while in hero league. Also this gives people a less stressful environment for those who have anxiety about playing ranked play. This overall is a great edition and I think it will be well received by all.

The second edition is to help those with MMR issues. With Heroes being a team game and Hero League has a large part to do with working as a team effectively. People can get bad luck and get stuck in what is know as a MMR hell early on in their gameplay. To compensate this Blizzard is making the placement matches effect your MMR but also your given MMR after the seeding will have a high "uncertainty" basically the more games you play your MMR will settle into place. Therefore the games you play at the start will have less and less effect on your current MMR. This way people should even out where they should. This will stop people from getting unlucky or lucky during the placement system because of some good or bad teammates.

This is always going to be an issue, but more Blizzard tweaks the system the more they will get it closer to the best system. The only perfect system will be in Team League, but that is because the unknowns are not even nearly as complicated. So have patience players and don't assume they don't care or want your experience ruined. It will keep getting better.

Despise Him With All My Metallic Heart

So here I was just sitting around wondering what I would be doing for this week's list when I was in thought about how some villains end up losing when the "heroes" are just awful. With that in mind here is my list where you are left with the head scratching on the villains that lose.

5. Gruntilda - Banjo Kazooie

The fact that she was stopped by a bird and a bear who learned everything they knew from a mole means she should probably retire as her life as a which.

4. The Ghosts - Pac-Man Series

So strength in numbers is supposed to be an advantage. Well in this case it isn't. Sure all the ghosts are supposed to do certain things, but they just end up failing in every possible way.

3. LeChuck - Monkey Island Series

Guybrush is the kind of guy you like to be around to see what type of idiotic situations he can get himself in. This is probably why Monkey Island is always so fun to play the problem is who does this idiot end up winning?

2. Bowser - Super Mario Series

So he is the king of the koopas and can breathe fire and some way some how looses to a plumber who requires power ups to do anything effective.

1. Dr. Robotnik/Eggman - Sonic Series

Even Big the Cat beat this guy. Everyone of Sonic's friends have taken him down and for some reason he makes sure all of his machines have a weakness to speed.

There you have it. This week's list all wrapped up. What bad guys do you think really just messed up? As always let me know in one way or another.
