Keyboard Turning
Now that that is out of the way. This week I had a submission from David aka Crockniel about keyboard turning so how could I resist so here it is.
I must say for awhile I heard your rantings and ravings about how bad keybaord turning was. To be honest I thought you were just being an elitist ass so I didn't pay much mind to it. I kept doing it because it was the way I had always played and I wasn't about to change. I could do everything other people were doing completely fine. As time went on you didn't stop, but I started to pay more and more attention to it.
Then you had that post I don't know when on things you could do to stop keyboard turning. It was unbinding your "a" and "d" keys until you got out of the habit and started using your mouse. I figured I would try it out and basically disprove the fact you are a better player if you don't keyboard turn. Well after days of cursing you with deaths resulting in me not being able to turn around I finally broke the habit. Now I didn't notice too much of a difference in raiding, but I was quicker and got out of things easier even if I didn't die to them previously. The biggest difference I noticed was in PvP because players have learned as I noticed to exploit those who keyboard turn by running around them and causing them to shuffle. So even if at the start I wasn't a believer I want to thank you for breaking my habit and making me a better player as a result of my noobish habits.
Dave(Crockniel)
So there you have it. Thanks to Crockniel for the post and everyone else's submissions. Keep sending them in always a good read. In honor of Crockniel though I will leave you all with this picture.

The "S" Key
- Someone is running at you with a knife and going to stab you
- A car is coming right for you
- Your house is on fire
- A ledge is collapsing on a cliff and you could fall in
See these would seem simple that you would turn and run. How does this get lost in translation in WoW. Leo the Blind in SSC was where this first started to bug me. This guy spinning around in circles is coming right for you and I am slowly going to walk backwards and watch him as he kills me. Ya that makes a lot of sense. You are standing in fire and you must watch the situation as you slowly back peddle out of the fire which is killing you. Oh look a Blood Beast is about to give you a facial I will just slowly walk backwards instead of running the hell away from it. Zombie coming right for me excuse me while I want a front row seat to it killing me. I have Pack of the Dark Fallen so I will walk to the middle backwards while I survey the room for some apparent reason.
These situations may seem funny, but why do people have to do this. In real life it would seem completely retarded as you saw above, but in WoW people don't make this connection. Maybe it is just me expecting people not to be an idiot or expecting to much. I just want to know someone's logic with this situation. Who knows maybe they would walk backwards when being chased by a masked murder or if a car was about to hit them. If that was the case at least this entire situation would make more sense.

Ya That's Bad
Now if you read this and thought here Gauss goes telling people how to play, but that is not it at all. If you were hoping around on one leg when you had two, well you would be a dumbass and I would tell you. You see there are many ways to play this just isn't one of them. Let's throw tab targeting into the mix as well. Awful don't do it. Why not throw walking backwards when something is chasing you and going to kill you. Would you do that in real life when someone is running at you with a giant axe? Of course not. So why do it in WoW, other than the fact that you are just that special kind of stupid.
Back on topic. Let's start with Clickers. You see when you click on the buttons on your action bars. You are not only wasting time by moving your mouse over to click on such and such when you could just push the damn button, which is actually pretty significant amount of time over the course of a fight. This isn't even the main problem. The problem is simple when you are moving your mouse around looking for that button to to click on you are NOT looking at the rest of your screen. Meaning you could be in fire, poison, blue crap, green shit, or don't see a giant yeti is running right at you. Now I know what you clickers are thinking, it is only for a second. That's the same line that guy said when he turn around to face the back seat to find a damn CD only to crash into the damn car ahead of him. Only for a second...
Keyboard turning. Well this is just special nothing like taking 3 seconds to turn around and run from something. Too bad it already caught up to you and you exploded wiping half the raid. Did I do that? Of course you did you moron. Your mouse is a wonderful thing you know it can turn you around instantly and you can get out of the way. It will make people happy, it will make me happy. So please lets make this right.
So everyone please help me get this message through to all those special people. Let them see the error of their ways. Who knows maybe we can have a rehab program to help these people.
I think I can breathe now, I feel much better.
