Ask Gauss

Sunday! Yes your weekend is coming to a close and you are only 1 day away from the new season of Walking Dead, and that is the good Walking Dead not the one that thinks it is. So while you are waiting for that an recovering from your week it is time to see what the questions are for the week.

What Civilization are you going to start with in Civ 6?

As always I start with Rome. Why? Well in my mind they are the greatest civilization that has ever been so I am always curious as to the way they are displayed in each game. After that I try to go with who I think plays well with the style of game I want to play in my next game. That really could be anyone because it really has everything to do with how the result of the first game ended. So really don't think that answers the question at all.

What do you think about the Blizzcon announcements?

Well so far they have just been talking about the esports tournaments and the panels. Of course, they haven't given away exactly what they will be talking about on each panel because that is all about what Blizzcon is about. I really am interested in what Diablo has going on, because really I feel there should be some sort of expansion announcement and not just some patching. We can only wait and see though.

Yay for Halloween Events Starting.

Headless Horsemen is always a great time!

There you have it the questions for the week. Hope you all got something out of it, and as always if I didn't get to your question on here I will get to it eventually. So please stay patient. Again this couldn't be possible without all of your input, and I know I have been slow with responses lately so please bare with me.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

He Survived

On Monday we learned something that will not only change Blizzard video games, but is my belief it will be gaming as a whole. Chris Metzen is retiring. He isn't jumping ship to another company or anything like that at the age of 42 he is calling it quits. He wants to enjoy his time with his family something he has earned the right to do. It doesn't mean us gamers cannot be sad for it. So for this week's list I decided to put together my favourite Chris Metzen moments.

5. Thrall's opening Words

Warcraft III was an amazing game. Not just because it mixed up the way the genre was played, but because it had a story for us to remember. A story that formed the basis for World of Warcraft as we know today. Thrall's words spoken by Metzen were what started it all.

4. Overwatch Reveal

I have never seen any game developer be so excited for the reveal of a game. They enthusiasm and the pride in his voice was something that I wasn't expecting nor accustomed to. It really was something to see and that was before we even got the cinematic.

3. Red Shirt Guy Returns

So the previous year the infamous "red shirt guy" you could say slightly embarrassed Chris Metzen with his questions about Falstad. The following year before he got any questions out Chris Metzen walked the audience to hug the guy for being such a super fan.

2. Geek Is

During the Blizzcon in 2010 Chris Metzen made a speech that will go down in the history of Gaming Culture. He showed pride in his past, present, and future and how it all unfolded. Let everyone in the audience and those at home know that there are much others like you and you all showed be proud of who and what you are.

1. Red Shirt Guy Owns Him

I wasn't sure this was going to be number one, but it had to be. We all know what happened and we all will forever know what happened. The moment itself is immortalized within the game with the "Ironforge Fact Checker" and the words "isn't Falstad dead?" are ones that will be forever be etched in our memories.

There you have it this week's list. I know all of you have plenty of moments to be remembered involving Chris Metzen. Share them and be sure to let him know everything he has brought to the gaming world as a whole.

Ask Gauss

Sunday! Yes Blizzcon is over and we are all sad. How can we not be it was a pretty amazing Blizzcon wasn't it? What better way to finish off Blizzcon then to answer some Blizzcon themed questions for Ask Gauss

What did you think of the Warcraft Movie Trailer?

It was amazing actually. I really think the way they are doing the movie is right. Sticking to the story and not making it Humans vs Orcs and Good vs Bad. There is good and evil on both sides as GRRM says. I also think this movie is going to appeal to non gamers especially with fantasy getting bigger into the main stream since Lord of the Rings.

Favourite part of Blizzcon?

The opening ceremonies are always a great thing. We got to see what was coming up for each and every game as well as a Starcraft send off which I think was a great touch. Really though watch the series between sOs and Life was something special. Watching that actually gave me some chills. Best players of HotS doing battle for the world title and it going to 7 games. And that warp prism snipe!

So Cho'gall?

Even if as a character it fails. I love the concept.

There you have it questions for the week. Hope you all enjoyed it as well as Blizzcon itself!

Blizzcon Pros and Cons

Friday and it is Reader Post time, but it is also the first day of Blizzcon! That is if you didn't know. Well as a tribute to the day and to those going here is Gunrocks's Pros and Cons list for Blizzcon. Hope you all enjoy!

My Pros and Cons of Blizzcon

Pros:
1. Enjoying "beverages", taking pictures, and hanging out at the Hilton hotel bar with the Blizzard devs, creators, and staff. Many of them are pretty laid back and have a lot of stories to tell.

2. Late night parties at the Hilton or the Marriott next to it. Holy S*^&, there is a lot of repression that gets unleashed during Blizzcon, just be careful which room/party you get invited to.

3. Introvert friendly zone - The whole area around the convention center day and night is usually judgement free so have fun without being self-conscious.

4, Witnessing the real life version of forum behavior in the crowds when panel discussions and Q&A's are taking place. It's got to be the most entertaining way to spend time while you recover from your drinks from the previous night.

5. If you have the slightest advantage in cardiovascular status, you can out run most the masses to the lines for the Blizzcon stores. (The second day of the 2010 blizzcon convention, I decided to be there right when the doors opened. As soon as they did, I bolted for the store on the north side of the convention floor. There was a ton of shouting and yelling like someone just opened the gates to AV and everyone was thundering across the fields of strife. As I reached the line, it suddenly got very quiet so I turned around and saw the majority of the guys in queue were doubled over wheezing in agony as their so's and friends looked on in concern. It was a moment that I will never forget.)

6. Get there a day or two early so you can do the following - Check out the sunset on the west coast, it's amazing. Hit up theme parks and other local attractions. AND FOR PETE'S SAKE, GO TO IN AND OUT BURGER!!!

Cons:
1. THE SMELLS, OH GOD THE SMELLS! - One the first day of the one I went to in 2008, the entire convention center smelled like steak and onions and I wasn't anywhere near the food courts. People would slide down the most clench inducing consumables I'd ever witnessed. Quite a few people had this perpetual sheen on them that was akin to some kind of petroleum byproduct. I remember at the 2010 blizzcon, the swag bag actually had travel sized sticks of Degreee deodorant and that people must have gotten the message because it didn't smell nearly as bad that time around.

2. Wait times - It's Blizzcon, so it's going to be crowded. Plan your two days around what you want to do by priority and get there when it opens. I'm sure there have been improvements, but the store lines for both times i've gone were lengthy in wait.

3. Airports being Airports - If your travel method is flying, make sure the airport isn't going to have a problem with the goods you bring back from blizzcon. I remember one of those years they sold diablo stress balls to the attendees and a good number of them got confiscated at security checkpoints.

All in all, I had an absolute blast both times and it makes for an even better experience to go or meet up with friends or guildmates.

There you have it. To all of those going enjoy!

Isn't Falstad Dead?

Monday! Not just any Monday though, it is the Monday before Blizzcon. So with that in mind I thought why not bring back memories of one of the Best Blizzcon moments ever. The Immortal Red Shirt Guy. So here it is

Now aren't you ready for Blizzcon?

Ask Gauss

Sunday! And happy time change. If you believe in that time change stuff. Hopefully everyone survived their Halloween in one way or another. Now we can get back into the normal swing of things. Starting with it being Sunday and me answering some questions.

So what are you most looking forward to at Blizzcon?

I think what everyone else is, the Warcraft Movie trailer. Now they haven't even announced that this is going to be shown at this year's Blizzcon, but it is what everyone is expecting. If you know anything at Blizzcon you know there is always a big reveal of some sort. This also includes the big reveals from each game in their universe as well. So I cannot see it any other way then during the opening ceremonies we see the trailer.

If Life wins the WCS this year does this make him the greatest Starcraft II player ever?

I think if he wins him and MVP will be the only ones in the discussion. His stats speak for themselves. Even when Zerg was in a bad spot meta wise he still found a way to win tournaments, which to me speaks volumes of his skill. During Terran down times you never saw the same things from MVP which is why I will always tend my vote to Life even now. Just makes this tournament all the more exciting.

Think Red Shirt Guy will make an appearance?

I would be quite surprised if we didn't see him.

There you have it this week's questions. Hopefully you got something out of it and can start your time change recovery off on the right foot. Happy Blizzcon week everyone!

Ask Gauss

Sunday! Yes here we are ending our weekend and feeling awful because the weather is cooling down. Even my pool is closed up now making the realization that as Ned Stark would say "Winter Is Coming". Trying not to get me down too much as there is still plenty of things to do. Like go through my emails and pick questions for the week! So let's get to that!

When are we going to get the Warcraft Movie trailer?

Well that is simple Blizzcon. I have no doubt in my mind that the big reveal this year will be at Blizzcon. I think we will also get a Q&A with the cast as well as tons of other movie related material. I just don't see a better way than that to make a big splash at Blizzard's greatest stage. It actually would surprise me completely if this wasn't the case.

Even playing the Nathan Drake collection you can see how video games have became easier over time.

Anytime you play a trilogy even if the separation of years is large you can seeing the evolution of gaming. In a game like Uncharted it can be more evident towards the difficulty side of things just because I think they made the first game harder than they actually wanted it to be. Now I am talking core mechanics. Obviously you can turn up the difficulty and get the difficulty in the game you should be playing, but that really isn't what I judge a games "difficulty" on. If you compare the second and the third game I think you will see the mechanics of the game are pretty similar with just some minor tweaks to not make the game easier but just make it flow more. This to me is really what you would like in a series you don't want games to be miles away in difficulty because it aggravates some players and pisses off others.

So has Bautista bat flip already the cover winning for MLB The Show net year?

That isn't a bad idea.

There you have it this week's questions. Thank you to everyone who sent something in as this could not be possible without all of your questions. As always if your question was not answered on here I will get to it in the most timely manner possible. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Ask Gauss

Sunday! And the day after Blizzcon. Did you tune into anything? Really was a great show as always. I am always amazed at not only how much the fans go all out, but how the creators embrace it all. Really is something special. Even with all of that though we have some questions to answer so we really should get to that.

What did you think of the Blizzcon opening ceremony?

By far and away the best opening ceremony they have ever done they included all of their games and gave them each their time in the spotlight. Even with it being should a huge year for Warcraft and Warlords coming out this week they didn't let that take away from anything else. With all that then announcing a new game, which was expected, but when I saw everything for it not really anything that I expect. I am still wowed and in shock with everything that transpired.

What reveal this year was the best in your opinion?

Now I lvoed seeing them finally say that Legacy of the void will be on its way. I thought that would be the announcement of the weekend. That was until Overwatch made its entrance and then how can you argue about that. Metzen saying how long it has been since Blizzard has created a new world really jsut is something special. Myself not really even being a shooter fan thought the game looked interesting and enough so that I signed up for the beta pretty much instantly.

Did I see you playing Heroes of the Storm the other day?

Yes I was. Finally got into the alph

There you have it this week's questions all answered. Hope you all got something out of them and hope you all enjoyed Blizzcon as much as I did. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Blizzcon Fun

So today Blizzcon kicks off and by the time you read this it may have already started. Sure Blizzcon is abotu Blizzard games, but it also is a time about connecting with people you play the games with. With that in mind for this week's Reader Post I have decided to share a story from Falos who has his own story about his first Blizzcon.

Since this week if your Blizzcon week I figured I would share a story of mine from my first blizzcon in 2008, where i met a certain group of people who threw an awesome party on at the pool deck of the Hilton... This is kind of a long read, but its called The legend of Backpack Boy aka BpB

My first year at the con, was the year the pool party started, i had just turned 21 and got super wasted on all kinda of booze, mistake 1 was mixing drinks... I got asked to hold this huge bottle of jack from the guy who set up the party. We eventually got kicked out of the hilton pool area and took our party down to the lobby and we had those crappy Styrofoam coolers and i went to move them to sit in the chairs and both the bottoms broke out leaving ice all over the floor!

Eventually we all went back to this girls Suite with a ton of booze and beer left over from the pool party and everyone was told to drink up if you wanted too. There was prob 20-30 people in the room, and there was no balcony to smoke on, so every time i wanted to smoke, id grab a beer or 2 put them in my backpack and go downstairs smoke and drink my beer, come back up for a while, and do the same thing...

Well people thought i was taking the booze to my hotel room and coming back and just getting more there for "ninjaing" the booze, eventually the guy came back and got his Jack Daniels bottle and left for the night, i grabbed another beer went down to smoke.... then when i came back up they wouldn't let me in anymore cause like i said they thought i was just stealing it and stock piling it and went back down to smoke... by this time the booze was catching up to me quick and i tried to go back up stairs to the room again, but i was so drunk i couldn't remember the room number, so i wound up just banging on peoples doors hoping id get the right room.

It was at this point, the Hilton was going to call the cops for me just walking around wasted and banging on peoples doors at like 3-4am... and eventually i blacked out and 2 guys from the pool group had to take me back to my hotel room at the clarion... where i wound up getting so sick the puke wound up ON THE CEILING of the bath room >.< (we have no idea how this was accomplished) (( we felt so bad we left the cleaning lady a huge tip))

I wound up drinking more in my hotel room and eventually passed out.... when i work up the next day i had the worlds worst hang over and it took me 2 days to feel better PLUS at some point in the night i some how i had chipped my front tooth, and never found out how and i had put it in my pocket for safe keeping...

I had checked the fourms when got home and people were saying "i hope the kid with the backpack got home alright" hence my nickname Backpack Boy was born, now every year i come to the con with a huge backpack full of beer and share it with those who felt i stole beer and even just give free beer away to people who need a drink... (obviously people over 21)

I also redeemed myself by coming back the next few years and being the bar tender for the rest of the parties we ever had and i also made some of the best friends who i love seeing every year! Plus it shows BpB can party hard!!!!! The good news it taught my my drinking limit and i dont get that messed up anymore.

Blizzcon is as fun as you make it! So get out there and party hard and have a good time this year, make some new friends and memories that you will never forget!!

To everyone who will be there or won't have an epic Blizzcon!

Deathwing Has Returned

Here we are only 2 days from Blizzcon and we are all sitting back wondering what is going to happen. What are they going to reveal to us this year? What about all those things we are hoping for will we be getting them? Well for this week's list I thought I would be a great time to look back at my Favourite Blizzcon Reveals so here we go.

5. The Black Soulstone

We knew Diablo III was in the works we, of course, had no clue when we were actually going to get our hands on it. Seeing this cinematic though really got us to the point where we knew it was getting closer.

4. Heart of the Swarm Reveal

This trailer showed off the campaign while giving us a peek at some new units we would be getting to use. Now some of these units never made it into the game, but no matter at the time I was pretty pumped about it and probably watched the trailer quite a few times.

3. Blizzard DOTA

A game which has changed names twice since then and is now just know as Heroes of the Storm gave us a look at a game we were not expecting. Gave us a look at a game we then became pretty exciting for. A game we are all still waiting to be released. I guess they really meant "soonis" when they said it.

2. Demon Hunter Reveal and Trailer

I remember how pumped I was after I saw this trailer the first time. It really gave me a good look at not only how they were developing the Diablo classes but how the game would feel. Not to mention how angry the demon hunter was at the world.

1. Cataclysm Announcement

For a couple weeks before this was announced there was rumors all over the internet. There was talk about how this couldn't be and how this couldn't be and how an expansion like this could never happen. The thing is though it didn't happen and I will never forget the roar of the crowd when it did.

There you have it. My favourite reveals from Blizzcons over the years. Do you have a favourite you think deserves a mention? As always let me know.

Ask Gauss

Here we are the first Sunday in November and the day we got an extra hour of sleep. Well that is if where you live does the whole daylight savings time thing. If not then it is just the first Sunday in November. This Sunday really isn't much different than most we still answer some questions.

Less than 2 weeks till Warlords. Has excited set in yet?

I have been pretty pumped for it since they released the cinematic. It just made the whole thing seem so close and that was back in August. I am excited to see where the story is going and how I will progress through it. Interacting with characters and places you never thought you would see again really is going to be something else. Especially for lore buffs like myself. So bring it.

What are your thoughts on Beyond Earth?

Now being a fan of the Civilization games I was excited for this. Now it looks amazing and it plays like a civilization game, which is a good thing. One thing though which I always thought has been great about the Civ games was how you were taking a part of history and being part of it. This doesn't have that as this is futuristic. Now that is not a completely bad thing but it is just different. I will say this game has a much higher learning curve than previous Civ games because you can do everything the tech trees are also unknown to you because the worlds themselves are. It takes a few games to get used to the feel and how to play it. I think I will have a more extensive review after I have played it more.

Blizzcon this week.

Thank you captain obvious!

There you have it some questions answered for the week. Thanks to everyone who sent one in and hopefully my responses are somewhat helpful. Enjoy what is left of your weekend!

Ask Gauss

Sunday! Yes your weekend is just about over kind of crazy isn't it. Why Sundays are good and bad. They are still the weekend, but then they also remind you the weekend is just about over. Sunday though as you should know if you don't by now is time to answer questions, and if you didn't know you probably didn't know you send your questions into gaussafication@gmail.com but now you do!

So I just finished Shadow of Mordor. Did you like the ending?

Now I liked how the plot was coming to an end. All the lead up I thought was extremely well done. It got me into that mode of gaming where I just had to finish it because I wanted to see how it was all going to come to an end. I even liked how the end actually happened right before that last scene. Now I won't say exactly what it was for spoiler reasons, but yes I agree that wasn't needed. It may be something for a sequel, but it just left me angry and unsatisfied when I throughly enjoyed everything else about the game.

Since Blizzcon is so close, andyou think LoTV is on its way what do you hope to get from the game unit wise for multiplayer?

They really need to make mech some how viable. I don't know how they can do it but it needs to be a threat. Also they need to make the game not predicable match wise in the pro scene. It is great watching the best of the best doing a a certain composition. I would just like a variety when watching the pro scene. So not sure if that answers it but that is what I want.

Is Ubisoft to blame for this FR issue?

Nah I still blame Microsoft

There you have it some questions answered for the week. Thanks to everyone who sent one in if I got to it on here or not. If I didn't will still get to it so I appreciate your patience. Now you can go back to your regular scheduled weekend

Blizzcon Gaps

Happy Friday! Yes the end of the week and only a couple weeks from Blizzcon. Hard to believe it is that time of year already. For this week's Reader Post Romur has brought to my attention something interesting. I'll let you read what he had to say.

So... here's the point: Blizzard has never had gaps from noon until 2 pm on the main stage at BlizzCon. That's a sizable gap, especially after such an amped up opening ceremony. It makes sense that they'd announce the new game and then immediately start talking about it. It also leaves exactly enough time for a new game, as each other game already has exactly 2 gameplay-focused panels.

It's can't be a StarCraft expansion - Yes, Legacy of the Void will be announced, but it already has a panel: StarCraft 2 - What's Next on Friday. That's the same panel title for other unannounced expansion content (either through a WoW patch or Diablo expansion).

There's a large amount of potential play area in the C hall. Here is the floorplan. Copy and paste the Heroes of the Storm area or the StarCraft 2 area onto the south end of the C hall and suddenly you have room for a first look at a new game.

Anyways, I wanted to throw this out there and see what everyone else thinks. The fact is that I simply cannot explain the gaps at noon in the schedule, and Blizzard is too smart to let the hype from the opening ceremony die out right there.

I find this quite interesting and really cannot wait to find out what is happening in that time slot. Let me know what you guys think is happening, because this cannot be a coincidence.

Ask Gauss

Sunday is upon us cone again. Besides a new episode of Game of Thrones it also means I get to go through a bunch of questions pick 3 and answer them right on here for this week's Ask Gauss. How does one send in questions? Well there is quite a few options on the top right of the page where you can find me or you can just send an email to gaussafication@gmail.com if you are too busy to tilt your head slightly. So with out going on and on with an intro which doesn't make too much sense let's answer these questions

Have you had a chance to play Dark Souls II yet?

I have not yet I actually have the game sitting around jsut haven't brought myself to play it yet. Mostly because I am in a pretty good spot and I don't feel like ripping those who I see and talk to heads off on a daily basis. Now that doesn't mean I am not excited to play it just haven't put aside the time a game of Dark Souls II deserves. I will get to it though and all of you will get to hear me rage about it, and I know you cannot wait for that.

Blizzard has been talking about how to makes Rifts in Diablo more exciting, what do you think would make them so?

Honestly I love killing monsters and besides an obvious fix to increase monster density which I believe is a needed fix. I would also increase the number of monsters if the density is increased to spawn the guardian. I would also like to see events be them chest or shrine events within the rift. Something besides just killing monsters. People are finding rifts boring because they are just that. Also I would be interesting if a random boss who wasn't the guardian just showed up. Would scare the crap out of me on HC, but hey at least it would be entertaining.

Do you plan on going to Blizzcon this year?

Still to be determined but I will of course let everyone know if that is the case.

There you have it questions answered for the week and you can feel like your weekend has accomplished what it has to. So enjoy the rest of it.

Just Another Morning

Happy Monday everyone the first Monday of December even. Time really has flown by and now I have to start thinking about Christmas because it is actually December. Can no longer ignore it. Before any of that though I we have Machinima Monday to deal with. The post of the week where I showcase a video of the Machinima, Animation ro live action variety for all of you to see. This week's is brought to you by AFK Players. It isn't often I come across a machinima which is at another level. One of my favourites of all time Divided Soul is one of those. This one titled "Just Another Morning" is a masterpiece. Everything about it is simply amazing and whenever there is a shout out to Cairne I can't help to shed some manly tears. All I can say is I have no idea how this couldn't have won at Blizzcon and may really be the greatest Machinima I have ever watched. Enjoy

Storm Tribute

Monday! Yes I know it is hard to have motivation for a Monday but after a great weekend of Blizzcon it is hard not to be excited for the future. Also have the fact that PS4 is on its way this Friday so there is plenty to be pumped up for. Being Monday though it is custom here in Gauss Land to showcase a video for all of you to see for Machinima Monday. Now I know I have showcased Carbot on many occasions, but with this I just had to share it. It is his Heroes of the Storm tribute created for Blizzcon.

Ya I know it was awesome

Blizzar Expectations

So tomorrow is Blizzcon and I thought I would make today's blog pretty simple. What I hope for from each of Blizzards games. Feel free to let me know your hopes and expectations.

Diablo

I am looking forward into some more insight into Reaper of Souls. How life without the auction house will be, which means I want to see how loot 2.0 is going to work. Is everything going to be bind on account? Would also love to see some great gameplay footage, but no spoilers of Malthael. Overall think this is all can really expect from Diablo except maybe another cinematic or 2. Oh and if I am dreaming a release date.

Hearthstone

Actually just started messing around with this a couple days ago. Have had the beta for awhile but just didn't sit down and learn to play then play it some. Game is actually a lot more fun then would have expected it to be. Really since I can play the beta I would just be looking for when this game will be released so I can play against others who do not have beta privileges. What up Saf?

Heroes of the Storm

I want to see this game in action. I am really looking forward to Blizzard's take on the MOBA style. You see I have never been really able to get into them because the game seems so slow paced and simplistic. Maybe it is because I have played too much Starcraft. So I am hoping Blizzard can change my mind on this. Also a beta date and invite would be awesome.

Starcraft

I live my life for Aiur so Legacy of the Void is something I have been looking forward to since it was announced. I am hoping to get a glimpse into the story, but nothing to major or super spoilerish. I am also looking forward to some new multiplayer units. Hoping for a usable protoss ground unit since HoTS only gave protoss air. A terran meching unit with anti air. Like the Goliath works doesn't have to be the Goliath but something which can actually make mech work. For Zerg a ground anti air unit so there is some options other than hydra. Lastly a beta invite and release would be appreciated.

World of Warcraft

Information on the new expansion. I want to know what lore we can expect and how the story will evolve. I want to see new models for the older races for minor cosmetic upgrades. Want to see Alleria and Turalyon make their return some how and get some insight into what N'zoth is up to. So yes all the typically stuff.

So that is what I am hoping for. Nothing too out there really. Guess we will start to find out tomorrow if my wishes will be coming true.

Isn't Falstead Dead?

Middle of the week and just a couple more days until Blizzcon. Also looks as if Warlords of Draenor is a sure bet now as it is now a trademark in multiple locations around the globe. Really interested to see where they are going to take it. Since Blizzcon is almost here and Wednesday has turn into a day of lists I figured I could list off my favourite moments from past Blizzcons. So here we go.

5. The Is No Cow Level

So the costume contest is one which I am always excited it see each and every year. There are always your normal costumes of the most popular and though provoking characters, but when the Army of Cows came out in 2009 it was something special and awesome in everyway.

4. The Return of the Red Shirt Guy

Red Shirt guy is iconic in terms of Blizzcon mostly for her first visit which is obviously further down the list. His return though starts with Metzen coming down and giving the guy his dues. He was humble to him and then during his question the red shirt guy himself was humble right back.

3. Geek Is

This speech by Metzen was one to remember and one which has been repeated over the years. I watch it every once in awhile and I cannot say that about many speeches let alone one from a gaming convention. It truly was something special.

2. The Dawn of The Red Shirt

Maybe the most awkward Q&A ever at a Blizzcon. The guy in the red shirt told Metzen he was wrong. I just don't know how else to describe how this moment was. One does not simply tell Metzen he is wrong about Warcraft.

1. Broken Leg

The dance contest. Always amusing not only to watch the ones which are amazing and perfect in every way, but sometimes there is a moment so epic that the person involved will never live it down. Like say rocking out like and undead and then breaking your leg only to be carried off stage while Jay Mohr pokes fun at the entire situation. Yes it was that awesome.

There you go my favourite moments throughout the history of Blizzcon. Cannot wait to see what happens this year.

Ask Gauss

Sunday. Not only Sunday, bu the Sunday I had to remember to turn the clocks back. Although this is less of a pain than it used to be. So many electronics do this for you now. They may think this makes things easier, but do you know how often I turn the clock back on something which already had its clock turned back. I know, I know first world problems. Sunday also means something else, pancakes. Well yes but I was thinking more along the lines of Ask Gauss. Let's get this show on the road before I keep rambling.

So "Warlods of Draenor" has been trademarked, any thoughts?

Well let's assume this isn't a hoax like "The Dark Below". If that is the case it makes me wonder. Draenor no longer isn't it is now Outland because Ner'zul decided that opening a bunch of portals to escape Kil'Jaeden's wrath was a good thing. To bad he ended up going into the portal which Kil'Jaeden was in. Thus the Lich King was created and Draenor is just a bunch of floating rocks in the Twisting Nether.

Back to my point though. It no longer is there. So this really could be a Time Travel expansion where we go back to when Draenor was a thing. But to what end? This is the part which confuses me. Why go back? I don't see how you could actually make a story out of this without ruining all the current lore. If this wasn't about time travel it could be about Draenor being the key to the assault on the Burning Legion. It could be the key to getting to the Nether and getting the demons where they come from. This could be the expansion where Outland gets the Cata treatment. Even if this makes sense why call it Draenor? Just boggles my mind. Glad only have to wait until Blizzcon to find out.

So is all the Pirating in Black Flag really that fun?

It really is. Why? Well it is that fun because for the longest time I wasn't going any further in the story because I just wanted to kill every ship I saw. I would board it and take everything they had. I have even been attacking ships for minimal bags of sugar. I can say without a doubt if the game only had the pirating it would still be an awesome game. So yes without a doubt the best pirate simulator around.

What are you most excited for about Blizzcon?

Watching people make fools out of themselves in the contests.

There you have it all questions answered for the week. If you have a question feel free to send it in to gaussafication@gmail.com and while you are at it give us a like on Facebook. Try to keep people updated on the goings on while not blogging.
