The Kenway Family Saga

Here we go time to feel like crap it is Monday morning after all. Spring might have finally made its appearance here but I am not holding my breath on that one. Play the waiting game and see how it goes. Getting on to Monday Business ever since I shared the last Assassin's Creed video many of you have been asking for more of them. So I looked through a bunch of my favourite and came to he conclusion I would share "The Kenway Family Saga". I think it was done extremely well and really brings out the story of the family. So have a watch it is quite worth your time

Enjoy the last day of March things in the gaming world as always will be interesting tomorrow.

Ask Gauss

Sunday! Didn't that just come so quickly. Seems like last week I was here typing and in anticipation of Reaper Of Souls. Now I have spent most of the week playing it. So excuse me if the questions or the week for that matter have been Reaper Of Souls focused, but most of you know when I get into a game it takes over most of the week. So shall we answer some questions then?

Do you think the Act V bosses are too difficult?

Truthfully? No. Now I do believe they are much more difficult for specific heroes, but it really does depend on your spec. You also have to remember you are not penalized now for switching specs before a boss so it is a good process to go through to think about the current spec you are using. Recognize that some bosses are melee friendly, some have large spikes in damage and plan accordingly. If you just want to use your fastest spec for farming and then complain a boss is too difficult then you really are the one who is at fault.

So you were all excited about Adventure Mode was it all you thought it would be?

Now I have played it a bit and it really is what I expected it to be. It will make paragon farming and gear farming so much more enjoyable and not so repetitive. People always complain about games like how Diablo used to be with the endless grinding. I don't find it fun in any game it is in, but it was something you just had to do. You really are still doing the farming, but now it is not the same thing every time or doing the same story over and over again. Change is good and it makes the game and your experience fresh.

Got any spoilers for RoS?

Sure Malthael is in the game.

There you have it questions answered for the week. Enjoy what is left of your weekend and remember maggot spewing illusionist packs can be tons of fun!

So That Was It

So here we are on Friday and I I know there hasn't been a Reader Post in a couple weeks and that really doesn't have anything to do with no good submissions it has more to do with the fact of the days Friday fell on. Today though do have a Reader Post and it is an interesting one. Mostly do to the fact it is the first thing I thought as well. So I present you Mr. Kowalski and his thoughts

Was a great game, but I'm extremely disappointed simply because there is no amazing, epic, glorious ending Full CGI Cinematic that we all love from Blizzard. I feel ripped off.

I don't even care if the ending is good or bad, I just wanted it to see it in Full Glorious CGI like only Blizzard does.

Every Blizzard game, except for WoW, has the opening and the ending as a majestic CGI Cinematic. All those hours of playing the adventure mode just to watch that beautiful cinematic and suddenly, there is no such. It was such a let down. I'm staying with Starcraft, even though it has like 20% of the Diablo fan bese, it has more cinematics, I just hope they don't decide to do the same for the second expansion Legacy of the Void, since it's the epic conclusion and it must have a badass epic ending cinematic.

I think Blizzard made such a lazy decision to not put a CGI ending Cinematic. Money wasn't the problem, since seeing how much they gained from Diablo 3.

I just think they wanted the ending to be classed focused but in the end was still a little disappointed.

Maybe If You Lost As Much As I Have

So Reaper of Souls you all wondering what I am thinking? Well it is simple. I think it is pretty sweet the story although the ending being some what predictable was well put together. I really don't have any complaints and really was nothing I actually expected to be the case.

The gear curve seems to be at the perfect balance. I was getting upgrades but not crazy amounts to make the game not worth playing to improve yourself. The difficulty I really like. It is a challenge they really put effort into the boss mechanics which in vanilla Diablo some of the bosses were quite disappointing even if patch 2.0 fixed them.

Also like how the artisans and the followers were made more apart of the experience something which wasn't really the case before. Now it wasn't something I was expecting and was happy they did it in the end.

Lastly the music I think will be overlooked but really is one of my favourite things so far. You really get the feel for each and everywhere you are and truthfully the setting is what makes a great game.

So there you have it my no spoilers look at how Reaper of Souls is. I really have no complaints even when I am searching for them. If you are holding back on giving it a try I think you will be quite surprised really at how fun and awesome it is to play.

Could We Find More Like That?

Here we are the middle of the week and the second day Reaper of Souls has been with us. Tomorrow as per custom will be my little review for the new game I am playing for the week, no spoilers of course. Today though for this week's list I thought I would give you a count down of my favourite memories of Diablo. Now yours will be completely different, but hey this is my list.

5. Error 37

The game was going to be released everywhere at exactly the same time. What could possibly go wrong right? So here we were up till 3am ready for that 12am PST launch when it happened. Everyone in the world was trying to log in at the same exact time. No one could get in we kept trying and trying and it was 5am till I went to bed. Sure it was disappointing but it was also hilarious when one of us got pat the first stages of logging in only to be kicked out.

4. You Cannot Judge Me

Still my favourite cinematic from the game. The line itself gives you chills the first time you hear it. Every single time a new character is made I watch it.

3. Killing Diablo The First Time

Sure it was on Normal mode, but it was still the end of the game. I was the only one alive and really this was a moment which took more than a decade to happen. Sure it has happened countless times since then and I would say my first inferno kill before all the nerfs happened to be more of a challenge but this is the kill which was the most memorable

2. Hardcore Deaths

Hardcore deaths just happen. Sure your first couple characters you may get attached to but you learn not to. Then the deaths become inside jokes between you and your friends. Doesn't matter if it was a sand twister, wall of fire, egg sack, bull charging off screen, or the dreaded Moon Clan Warrior they will always be remembered.

1. Kormac

Kormac has become an icon. All of his quotes the things he says just become punch lines to everything. There are conversations you hate Leah and her Inn for instance but you will always smile when Kormac says something and for that we salute him.

There you have it this week's list. What were your favourite moments and have you already had some RoS moments which have topped them?

Not Enough Minerals

So here we are hours away from the release of Reaper of Souls. I don't even care that it happens to be a Monday. Even with everything which is going on today though cannot change tradition. it is after all Machinima Monday. Now I actually did have a few to choose from but that was until Saturday happened and our friend Carbot over at Carbot Animations released the first episode of Season 3 of Starcrafts. Now if you have ever played a game of Starcraft this really is one of the funniest things you will ever see. I cannot watch it with actually full fledged rofling taking place. So prepare yourselves

Yes i know... Good luck with your logging in tonight everyone!

Ask Gauss

Sunday! Only a couple days away from Reaper of Souls as well. Anyone else more than ready to get playing? I know I can't be the only one. So since my pancakes are all finished and cleaned up after why don't we do what we do on Sundays and answer some questions. Also if you are still not sure of how to send in your questions all the ways are listed on the top right of the page or you can just send an email to gaussafication@gmail.com. Now let's do this thing.

So what are you most excited for with Reaper of Souls?

Honestly there really isn't anything I am not looking forward to with this expansion. I know that is such a dumb answer but it is true. Adventure mode is going to make farming and gaining Paragon more exciting. Rifts are going to do the same thing but also add a challenge to the game which has been needed even in previous iterations of the game. The story itself is something I have been going over in my head over and over trying to figure out how all of this came to be. Then the Crusader looks like a pretty fun class to play to add to my arsenal of heroes.

So as you can see everything I am looking forward to. I think though if I had to pick one it would be adventure mode it really isn't fun to create games over and over for farming purposes and this really is going to make that not be the case. I like to actually do something and not mindless farm things. Just as I hate grinding in any game if you can make it more interesting I am all for it.

Did you happen to see the new alpha video for the next Assassin's Creed game?

Oh I did. For those who haven't.

French Revolution is such an interesting time frame as well. Now I know people are saying it will probably be the same old gameplay just with a different story and slightly different weapons. Really though that is the essence of the Assassin's Creed games. Experiencing the history of the world for the eyes of an assassin in the world they came from.

So SimCity released Offline mode this week?

Yes because releasing a pointless thing in this day in age is important to people.

There they are questions answered for the week. Enjoy what is left of your weekend everyone and prepare for Death!

The List Of Things Diablo Has Taught Me

So here we are on Friday the Friday before the new Diablo Reaper of Souls comes out. Now I got quite a few interesting posts for the  Reader Post this week but I decied that I wanted something Diablo themed. Also I had this thought we Ziggie and I were having a conversation about the things Diablo has taught us about the world. So I decided to list a few of my favourites to make you all laugh and smile, and pump the tires of the expansion.
  • There are always more hidden footprints
  • Black Magic will bar your way
  • Zombies end up killing business
  • A blacksmith needs more than making spades to occupy his time
  • At the end of a hallway there is always a dead body
  • I don't care about anyone opening an Inn
  • You cannot judge justice itself
  • We no longer can stay awhile and listen
  • I have been saying the word "terror" incorrectly my entire life
  • The light is both a figurative and literal foe of evil
  • Templar's have great eyesight as they always see that enemy over there
  • There is no need to be snide
  • Go be swift!
  • Bul-Kathos guides my hand
  • The rest of the thieves guild will find you
  • You are a fool to seek an audience with an emperor
  • There is no point if asking Marta is alright
  • Miners work their hands to the bone
  • Human flesh tastes better than Zombie flesh
  • A sword can be a cure for Amnesia
  • If someone likes to laugh like a maniac after each and ever sentence he probably shouldn't be trusted
  • Never promise Macro you can protect him
  • I can open this gate for you
Those are just some of my favourites there are countless more. You could basically make a list with everything that comes out of Kormac's mouth. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Just Whistle

So what can I say I have been playing the Final Fantasy X/X-2 remastered. Although haven't got to X-2 yet and I am playing them in order so there is that. What can I say besides how you sometimes forget how much fun a game was until you go back and play it. The sphere grid was such an interesting way to progress your characters back then and it hasn't changed. Besides the Expert feature which does change your play style quite a bit.

Now the story itself nothing has changed so I am not really going to get into that at all. The graphics themselves as you would expect in a remaster have had a serious upgrade but that isn't the biggest thing you notice. The largest thing is the sound quality and for a games whose music and sound bites are one that I remember quite fondly and I cannot complain and can in fact praise. One funny thing though is because of the increase in graphic representation it is obvious the mouths don't perfectly match the speech but fora game which came out over 10 years ago what can you expect.

That was another thing I realized when I launched this game up it has been over 10 years since I first played the game and that was actually quite hard to believe. Not to mention 10 plus years and we still don't have a Blitzball stand alone game. If you did play it before you will get all those nostalgic feelings every step of the way. which I think they were really baking on. Now it definitely is the best remaster I have played thus far, but it is the newest and was a game I thoroughly enjoyed when it came out in the first place so there is that to be taken  into consideration.

This is the first remastered I have played that made me think and excited for some possible other remasters in the future we may see. Also getting a new couple game before I immerse myself in that which is Reaper of Souls next week is nice as well.

So for those playing it enjoy your trip down memory lane and maybe if you are a Final Fantasy X/X-2 first timer I hope you enjoy one of the better stories video games has brought us over the years.

What's Up Chickenbutt

Wednesday already eh? Seems like the week only just begun. Everyone liking the Final Fantasy X/X-2 remaster? Will do my thoughts on it tomorrow but so far it has brought back some memories from years past. Enough of that till tomorrow though. Wednesday means there should be a list coming, and what did I decide for this week's list? Well Cooperative  play in a game is something which when done right can be a lot of fun. The game because so much more enjoyable or really an only really be played for fun when it is played with others. So this week I am going to take a look at my favourite Co op games.

5. Portal 2

Never has a brain teaser game been so much fun. Playing this game and all its hilarious portal uses is just an experience in itself. I truly believe we will be hard pressed to ever find a game like this ever again.

4. River City Ransom

Back to my childhood. Really one of the first real non linear type games. This game was really made to be a co op experience which you would want to take part in over and over again. It never got old beating others up with your bat.

3. Magicka

Not only is this game a parody of other games you have played, but really is an entirely different game when playing in co op. Not only that is you actually enjoy destroying your teamates for nothing other then pointless hilarity or maybe because you liked their weapon. Either way the fun factor is one of a kind.

2. Trine

Trine is a game which has everything and the elements of having to use your teammates to complete certain objectives. It is completely team focused and failing is just as fun as succeeding.

1. Contra

Often mistaken as the first ever cooperative game doesn't take away from really how game changing this game was. Not only was it fun to run around shooting everything you came across but the game also involved a challenge. One which ever makes it one of the most difficult games you will ver play. The game was an achievement to defeat and one which involved fist pumping with your buddy when the impossible was finally achieved.

There you go this week's list all done. This was a surprising hard list to come up with as I had to leave some off that I didn't think would actually be possible. I am happy with it though as I am sure experiences while playing the game actually change your view of it. So be sure to let me know yours or what you think of mine.

You Failed At The Diablo Auction House If...

So here we are on Fail Day and just a few hours ago the Diablo Auction houses were shutdown. Yes there will be no more selling no more bitching and no more idiotic forum posts about the Auction Houses. So in the honor of them being shutdown I give you the goodbye version of it in Fail Day.

You Failed At The Diablo Auction House If...
  • You never made any money off the RMAH
  • You paid more for an item then you paid for the game
  • You posted gems without thinking about the cost it took to make them
  • You didn't take advantage of people panicking and buying up gems
  • You bought things off the RMAH when it would have been cheaper to buy gold and buy them on the Gold AH
  • You used the gold dupe
  • You instantly posted any legendary you found for 2,000,000,000
  • For the last 3 months you have made a forum post everyday asking how you are supposed to survive without the AH
  • You are wondering how you are going to pay your rent without the RMAH
  • You will forget to empty your completed tab
  • Any time someone has had better gear then you you labeled them a "RMAH Player"
  • You have been one of those people buying whites for 30,000g the past couple weeks
  • You have bought any gear since 2.0 went live
and finally
  • You were one of those people who thought supply on the AH reflected drop rates.
There you have it this week's edition of Fail. The tears of the Auction Houses fill the internet today hope you enjoy them.

Desmond's Last Message

Here we are on yet another Monday, another week to look forward to. Now we have this tradition here in Gauss Land on Monday's where we share something be it a machinima, animation, or live action for everyone to see. Now I came across this and I could help but get them feels. If you know the Assassin's Creed story and have played through the games through the start you know all about Desmond. You know his connection to everything and if you were like me you always thought about what he was feeling just before he entered the temple in Assassin's Creed III. Now in Assassin's Creed 4 we got an audio file which was a recording from Desmond with his thoughts. The audio file itself made you feel but the way this tribute was put together well I will let you be the judge.

Requiescat in pace Desmond.

Ask Gauss

Sunday end of the weekend here we are. I would say end of winter as well but it cannot really decide what it wants to do around here. Weather has been all over the place, that is Canada for you though. You are not here though to read me complain or praise the weather I am having. You are here to see me answer some questions. So I will just get right into it.

How do you feel about DLCs?

In general I have no issue with a company that wants to put out DLCs as long as they are addons to the game and are not essential to the experience. Some expansions are labeled as DLCs but at least they are explained to be such so never mind about those. I am talking about teh games which are not free to play which throw out all these DLC micro transactions which are needed to play the game correctly and effectively. It is wrong to treat your customers this way and really is something they should be ashamed of. EA is famous for this or famous for overcharging for basic things they add to the game.  A good DLC in my mind is something like the most recent DLCs for Lightning Returns they are just outfits for lightning which you don't need to play the game just something extra in case you wanted something different. Now if those outfits were needed to beat the game then it would be a completely different story.

Do you like the new D3 Paragon system?

I find this interesting because I was just having a talk with Ziggie about this the other day. I really didn't have a problem with it till he pointed out to look at someone's elite kills compared to their paragon level. When I did I felt cheated like I wasn't given enough for the time put in, and I wasn't even half the paragon Ziggie was. Just seems they didn't reward the people enough for their vanilla accomplishments if how people are leveling now is to be expected. Not sure their think behind I  really do feel for the people who had multiple 100 paragons whose time seems to have been wasted.

Did you get into Heroes of the Storm Alpha?

Sadly no, but hoping for the beta and I am sure you all will be hearing plenty about it when and if I do.

That's it questions all answered for this week. As always thanks to everyone who sent something in and make sure you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

My Life For Pi

Happy Pi Day everyone!

Yes it is that day. On March the 14th we celebrate all things Pi. Now many people confusing this holiday as a geek or nerd thing. Rightfully so I guess as it may have that kind of flare to it. It isn't your normal type of holiday. It is a day named after a number a number which appears anywhere and everywhere you can possible see. So we eat Pie to celebrate Pi, but that really is where the Math silliness ends.

Pi Day is about things coming full circle. Realize where you have been and where you are now. It represents the classes we sat in and learned and the people we met along the way. It is the memories of those time when you really have no idea how you ended up where you were. It is about those times when you told a story to 50 people and 49 of them already know it. It is about the people who have come and gone and those who you realize will never be replaced. It is the day you shake your head in wonder about how some things just take so long to do.

You see Pi day is not some silly day made for Math Nerds. Pi Day is a day for celebration for the things you choose to celebrate. You decide what is important and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Pi day is about realizing there is no other day like it. So wish someone a Happy Pi Day and if they look at you weird just smile and say "Yes Happy Pi Day".

Ninja Launch

So if you didn't hear Hearthstone Launched on Tuesday. Kind of came out of nowhere. Yes they have been saying they were getting close to release and all of that, but I don't think anyone truly expect them to just launch the game without even a word. Now this really doesn't change anything for the game really besides the few latest patch notes. You keep all of your cards, your wins, your ranks, and your gold. Really the game just isn't in beta anymore.

Now with all that in mind do I think this game will be successful now that it is launched? First off I have a ton of fun playing Hearthstone and I never thought I would say that about a card game. It really is something if you haven't experience it is something you should. So all of you people putting it off it is free to play and now isn't even in beta so check it out. Also for all the WoW players you get a free mount if you play Hearthstone for a couple hours. Yes a free mount. So go play. With that in mind Blizzard has to stay on top of it. Add some cards as often as their is seasons almost otherwise people are going to get bored with it. Playing against and with the same decks isn't exciting. Sure there will be new things out of the blue or the odd thing you haven't seen but really they are all the same. Having been part of the beta for quite some time I have seen it. The game is released now so there really isn't the it is in beta and we are testing things excuse.

Now this is Blizzard's first free to play game so they are learning on the go. Also Hearthstone is quite a small team compared to their other gaming teams so they have some slack. I want this game to succeed because I have tons of fun playing it. Khulk and I can attest to playing the same person over and over again is actually quite fun. Talking about decks or even making ones which are completely out there. I am hoping here Blizzard I know you won't let me down!

Hadouken

So I woke up this morning and really couldn't believe it was already the middle of the week. Really just seemed like the weekend was still around and I was complaining about losing an hour of sleep. Really did just sneak right up on me. Now I am babbling, but  it is Wednesday and Wednesday means it is time I put together a list. Now what list do I have in store this week? Well it is simple really. There are games out there that we all know and love and sometimes those games have a sequels sometimes they are awful and then their are those games which are just part of a special breed. Here is my list for those.

5. Starcraft II

Now Starcraft and Starcraft Brood war were amazing games, which I probably put way more time into then I care to admit. Not only did they have a great competitive scene but the story involved in them was something never seen in an RTS game. Starcraft II though has changed gaming. Sure the Esports scene was around before Starcraft II, but it has grew bigger then anyone could have ever predicted because of Starcraft II. Not only that this game made watching streams really be a thing. It has forever changed the way gaming is.

4. Super Mario Bros 3

Now this game holds a special place in my heart. I could tell you ever secret every warp tube or anything else you can possibly think of. Out of any game involving the plumbers to me it is always compared to the fun I had with this game. I still enjoy laying it and that is saying something. Maybe it is childhood nostalgia but this game is epic.

3. Diablo II

Now Diablo wasa good game. I wouldn't say it was a great or amazing game but it was a good game. It really was the birth of the ARPG genre we know today. Diablo II though is the reason that genre is what it is today. Without this game there would be know God of War, Assassin's Creed, or Diablo III for that matter. This game is  still played today decades later . Now I often rip into people who complain about Diablo III, but it really has to do with how game changing this game was.

2. Super Street Fighter II Turbo

Of all the games which made me a gamer it was this one. Sure I played other games before this one, but this is one I practiced. I wanted and needed to be the best of my friends. Not only that but this game really is the reason for fighting games popularity. Sure there were others around but none were as out in the open as this was. Was in every arcade and anyone who was serious about gaming had it in their collection, and of course would complain about M Bison and Sagat being OP.

1. Uncharted 2

Uncharted 2 is not only one the best sequel ever made it is one of the best games in my eyes to ever be made. It has a story which keeps you engaged and would have best picture written all over it if it was a movie. Not only and the game was the right kind of difficult had perfect landscapes and sound. Truthfully if you have never had the pleasure of playing it you are missing out.

There you have it. Any thoughts? Been sure to let me know some way or another.

You Fail At Release Dates If...

So I will be the first to admit I have screwed up release dates before. Hell today I thought the remaster for Final Fantasy X and X-2 was coming out until last week. Even planned out some gaming time just to make sure I could get those games in while doing other things. So instantly when I realized how much I had failed I thought I am not the only one and this would be a great idea for a Fail Day post. So here we are

You Fail At Release Dates If...
  • You mixed up the month and the day
  • It took you till 1AM to realize a midnight release wasn't happening
  • You had a very vocal argument with a sales associated how he must be wrong and asked him to check for the 10th time
  • You have yet top realize 90% of games come out on Tuesday
  • You keep going to the store looking for your GTAV PC copy
  • You walked up and down the isle aimlessly looking for the game only to realize there was a poster making you facepalm
  • You have attempted to pre-order a game which has already been released
  • You have ever thought "they will have plenty of copies"
  • You feel showing up at 10 to 12 is plenty of time for a midnight release
  • You don't book the day off work
  • You don't have any "so this one time" stories when waiting in line for a midnight release
  • You thought or currently think you could buy a console without a pre-order
  • You don't buy games on the release date
and finally
  • You ability to check Google has evaded you
There you have it this week's edition of fail. Hope you all enjoyed it and will realize soon rather than later when things are actually happening.

Old School Nostalgia

Monday here we go another week. Also being Machinima Monday so we can start this week off right. I also promised many of you I would showcase an Older one this week. Now there are so many I have shown it really was hard to pick something. Now when I did decide it was one which I am pretty sure most have seen or a the very least heard about. Back when this was new it really became part of the raiding world and I often got the "at least you are not as bad as him". So here you are the original Onyxia Wipe Animation enjoy the memories

Now time for you to HANDLE the rest of your day.

Ask Gauss

Sunday. Yes that is right Sunday is already here. Where did the weekend go? Truthfully I am not entirely sure. I am sure though is that I have a pile of questions here and I only am going to pick 3 of them to answer for this week's Ask Gauss. Now if you are unsure how to become part of this pile it is very simple. You can use one of the ways on the top right of the page or you can just send an email to gaussafication@gmail.com. So let's get to it.

So I have been playing Lightning Returns and I am having a hell of a time on the final boss, any suggestions?

Well I must say the last boss, who I won't say just for spoiler sake, is actually the toughest last boss in Final Fantasy in a long time. Now the first few phases of the fight it is extremely important to do as much damage as you can without taking a lot. Also do not use any of your EP it is extremely important for the final phase. Now you really don't need to stagger the boss during this stage although it can be helpful just concentrate on doing the most damage possible while taking the least amount. I like to use a physical and 2 magic users just because it gives a nice break. In truth though the fight itself might be easier with 3 magic users and keeping your distance to react to attacks. The phases just may take longer to go through. I use "ra" spells specially Aero because it is a quick cast. Keep in mind though to have at least 1 of each element in case the boss switches to an elemental weakness and you want to take advantage of it. Lastly when you get to the final stage you just have to stagger. This is where your overclock and ethers if you have any come n handy. get to a purple stagger level then go nuts with the overclock. Once you have staggered the boss you win and congrats. Keep in mind weapons with Quick Stagger and Stagger Power are extremely useful. Hope this helps.

So truthfully how is the loot in Diablo now?

The loot drops are much better. I have been playing through my Hardcore Characters the last few days, and the drops and crafting has kept me at par. Also the drops currently are leaps and bounds better than you can get on the Auction House so stay away from it. With this in mind Demon Hunters need a little work or maybe I am not completely understanding the class. My Hardcore Demon Hunter Macro said goodbye to the world on Friday after many hard fought battles.

Will you be picking up the FFX/X-2 remaster?

Course been awhile but March 18th looking like a good day!

There you have it some questions answered for the week. Thanks to everyone who sent something in. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

If The War Was A Real One

So for those of you who don't know this book, which is the trail of Garrosh, comes out on May 6th. Now this is going to be the pre-expansion novel which will get us into the story of Warlords of Draenor. Now I have been having a lot of discussions with people on what exactly is going to take place. Many of them very thought out. The Most interesting one I have had though was if Azeroth was in the real world would would actually happen. I give you Madassa take for this week's Reader Post.

The thing we can imagine that both sides would sit down at a table after the fighting for the seige had died down and the last of the Garrosh loyalists had either surrendered or been dealt with.

Both sides would discuss a peace treaty and repatriations to be made. And I don't really see the Alliance going and slapping a treaty that was as harsh as the Treaty of Versailles on the Horde. The Horde would probably be limited in what armed forces it could have in terms of size of the army, X number of warships and airships, probably ordering the scrapping of any of the Hammer Class Heavy Gunships (head cannon name for 'em) as well as handing over any and all research and material relating to Azsharite explosives and Mana-bombs for a starter.

Then its payments of gold to the Alliance who would then divvy it up themselves as well as X amounts of resources, wood, ores etc, this could be compensated for with shipments of food to ensure there's not another famine.

The Horde would probably give up the Arathi Highlands as well as withdrawing fully from Gilneas and southern Silverpine. Sylvanas would probably demand that they keep Hillsbrad and they would be right to do so, its important to the defence of the Undercity. The Horde would fully withdraw from Ashenvale but would in turn recive shipments of wood and meat from the region for housing and food/hides. The Alliance would probably withdraw from the Southern Barrens as a gesture of good will but keep Northwatch as a major stronpoing as well as possibly rebuilding Theramore (New Theramore perhaps?)

There would be a general demilitarisation of Northrend, and the Horde in its current state probably can't afford to keep its garrisons there. Pandaria would see both sides withdraw in full whilst helping the Pandaren defeat the Sha (seeing as killing them now = perma-death). Pandaria has a chance to become a major exporter of foodstuffs to both sides.

As for the trial it would not just be Garrosh on trial, but any of his surviving military commanders too. But i'd see them being put on trial in Ogrimmar. Those who were part of the enlarged Kor'kron (the Garroshtapo) who were involved in any executions of prisoners and were 'just following orders' for example as well as military commanders put into their position during Garrosh's regime.
For the worst criminals they would be executed, others could be imprisoned or handed over to the alliance for crimes committed against them whilst Officers could be demoted, dismissed or imprisoned. The Horde would need to get a lot of new officers and leaders no matter what happens to them as most of those put in place by Garrosh would be removed from their posts.

Thank you to everyone who sent something in and thanks to everyone who I have been having a conversation with about this coming book. Keep them coming!

Time To Get Over It

So I have been playing the new Diablo patch the last few days and thought I would just talk about the patch but the main reason why people might be against the new loot system. So there is a group of people which is screaming how BoA is going to destroy something very important part of Diablo, that being trading.

Now I understand people like to find things and want there to be a purpose for them if they cannot use them. This makes sense but this in no means trading is one of the most important parts of Diablo. It means you wanted something for something you didn't need. Now you really can't do that anymore. I say really because yes you won't be able to trade it to someone else but you still will be able to use the materials from it in the forms of crafting. Is this what people really want? For the most part I would say people like this. Not to mention the drops are more tailored to you so it is less likely you will get a legendary drop which won't be a use of to you.

What people need to realize drops being better overall means you will feel better about looking at the loot you are finding. Also people need to think about also is the fact you are max level and have been for awhile so the fact you are not finding the most amazing upgrade when you had the auction house available to you. I can tell you from playing through hardcore lately the upgrades have been great and at points I have been thinking too good at times.

The game is about having fun yes but realize fun is getting something which has been worth your time playing. Sitting in a channel trying to unload something you don't want for someone else's thing they dind't want is not fun for anyone it was just a means to an end.

Now You Are Playing With Power

So I was asked the other day why I hate the Xbox so much and why I am so against it. Now it mostly comes down to the fact how I think it is just made for a different age group and how its specific releases I have no interest in. Now people confuse this with how I think the Xbox is a horrible system overall. That then gave me an idea for this week's list. How about my thoughts on the worst consoles ever made? I like it, so let's do it.

5. Pippin

This was supposed to be Apple's gateway into the console market instead it was nothing short of a failure. Not only did it have one of the worst designed controllers in terms of modern systems but no real gaming company wanted to make games for this. When gaming companies don't want to make games for a system why would anyone ever want to buy one?

4. 3DO

Anytime people talk about overpriced systems I always point to this one. Now sure the graphics engine was slightly ahead so maybe they "had" reason too. This actually had games and probably did have the Best Street Fighter II I had the pleasure of playing at the time. Problem was this system really couldn't decide if it was for gaming or multimedia. It met it's end when the other systems based it in performance and it had to lower its price.

3. CD-I

Oh the CD-I now if you thought the 3DO was overpriced then this one would take the cake. Back in 1991 when this came out it was retailing for $1400 in terms of today that would retail for over $2200. That is insane. Problem with this system besides the price was that it was slow and really didn't have it in it to make games which were at a faster pace. This really turned into a great system for educational games or some of the old school golfing games but when it came down to it that is about it. Basically Phillips entered a market they really didn't understand and were just trying to make a buck or too many.

2. Action Max

The creators of Lazer Tag brought us this. This system produced an incredible five "games" I say game slightly because they were just VHS tapes pretending to be games. Basically you plug in your gun and shoot at a movie. Yes that was it I know incredibly exciting how did this thing ever fail?

1. Virtual Boy

Now there is bad and then there is how was this ever made. This was a system which offered virtual reality but really was just 3D typish gameboy graphics which we got to see in breathtaking black and red. If you used it for a longer period of time you would walk around seeing red. Now keep in mind this was out the same time as the PS1 and had a pending N64 release. How was this thing ever created and why did someone just not slap them in the face when they suggested it.

There you have it this week's list. Do you think anything else was worse then these? Did you actually enjoy these consoles? Let me know.

You Fail At The New Diablo Patch If...

Diablo III probably the most pretended to hate game on the planet. I still find it hilarious how so many people were all "Game sucks", "Why do you play that crap", "Are you kidding me really?", but yet they are the ones who were first online for the latest Diablo patch. Now  with that in mind there was a new Diablo patch and what is it all about? Well that is what Fail Day is for isn't it?

You Fail At The New Diablo Patch If...

  • You didn't know there was a new patch
  • You are all excited to play your Whirlwind Barb again
  • You told someone "they really should make paragon account wide don't you think?"
  • You are wondering why that fancy new legendary that dropped can't go on the Auction House
  • You are buying gear off the auction house
  • You spent hours trying to find Inferno mode
  • You are loving playing your new crusader
  • You don't find "How is that critical mass wizard working for you?" funny
  • You were not expecting those adds on Siegebreaker
  • You are confused how you died to jailer
  • Your mouse left click doesn't work
  • You dislike BoA
  • You haven't figured out what "Tab" is for
  • You are confused whey you cannot use your 4th passive
  • You haven't killed the Skeleton King to get your free legendary

and finally

  • You are still going on about the glory days of Diablo II when we were 4 years old.
There you have it this week's edition of Fail. Happy demon slaying everyone!

Ask Gauss

Here we are on the tail end of the weekend once again. The first weekend of March and around here spring just doesn't seem anywhere in sight. What is in sight though(yes I know awful lead in) is these questions I am going to answer for this week's Ask Gauss. As always if you are unsure how to send in those questions top right of the page has quite a few options or just email them to gaussafication@gmail.com.

So I have been on the fence with getting RoS or not. What do you think?

Everything I have seen coming in Reaper of Souls has been worth it. The changes are all for the better. There really is nothing they are adding I don't like. Sure some of the class changes will change the way I played but I can live with that. They want the game to be equally played across all classes and that makes sense after all I do have currently a max level of every class. One thing to keep in mind though. Diablo is still an ARPG based upon farming for better gear. That is what the game is all about. If you didn't like that about it before that hasn't changed just the ways you go about getting it have slightly changed.

Do you have some favourite garbs in Lightning Returns?

I generally use 1 physically based attacking garb and 2 magic focused garbs. Now I have maxed out st and magic stats in those 2 situations so garb choice is more of a preference. Before that came to be though I used 2 of the +10% Magic garbs where there base attack was an Aero, Blizzard, Fire, Thunder + and then the other garb was a 10% Strength garb. Now if your base strength or magic stat isn't high enough that +10% is not greater than 250 then obviously use the 250 ones. I also like these garbs because they only have 1 wasted slot with the base ability.

Something interesting you heard about?

Hearthstone is going to be played at the Intel Extreme Masters. And no bullshit on that one.

There you have it questions answered for the week. Thank you to everyone who sent something in and a pre-thanks  to everyone who will be sending in questions for next week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
