Happy Monday morning. Today is a happy Monday for me because well here it is a holiday. Anytime you get a day off is a great day. Even so today is Monday so it still is Machinima Monday regardless and we will be showcasing one today. I decided to go with one I believe I have showcased before and if not I know you are all familar with how much I enjoy Melvenor's lore shorts. I will go far as to say his are the best Lore Machinima for Warcraft there are. The name of the Machinima I will be showing today is called Home, Sweet Andorhal. It is part of his Faces of Cataclysm series and in my opinion is one of the best Machinima's I have ever seen. I am actually still upset that Blizzard didn't even consider it for Blizzcon 2010, but that is long past. So sit back and enjoy this mastery of work.

Warcraft II Trailer

Monday, wow it seems like just yesterday it was Sunday... Ok that was an awful joke, but it was a great way to open. Monday means it is Machinima Monday the post of the week where we showcase a Machinima to all of you for the viewing pleasure. Now there really wasn't an option to pick, which I would actually show. After all this past weekend was Blizzcon and they have a Machinima contest. Also the person who won is one of my favourite Machinimators, Melvenor. For awhile now he had been talking about remaking the Warcraft II entrance Cinematic into a modern Machinima, and let's just say he did it and did it amazingly. So much so that he won the Machinima contest. So if you haven't seen it time to transport yourself back in time

Return of the Highborne

Happy Labour Day everyone! A Monday that people actually look forward to because they get it off. But a Monday is still a Monday. And with Monday's comes Machinima Monday's. Wow how many times did I just say Monday. Everyone knows I am a fan of the game's lore so when you have a machinimator like Melvenor who shows off the games lore in the way it deserves then it is something I will always take a look at. His latest installment of Faces of Cataclysm is Return of the Highborne. The story talking about how the Night Elves of the past came back to help the Night Elves and the Alliance by showing how the arts of the arcane can be useful. Now I am not saying I think this is a bad Machinima, but it definely is not my favourite of the series. Probably mostly because it has Night Elves and the fact that part II with Andorhal was probably one of the best Machinima I have ever seen. I will let you all be the judge. Here it is

The Gilnean Fallow

Monday is here and a happy 4th of July to all the Americans reading this. Monday though has its own tradition and that being time for machinima. Now one of my favourite Machinimators for story related machinimas is Melvenor. His way of putting a video together is absolutely perfect. The way he uses camera angles, music and everything else that goes into making a video. So after a long break from him making videos I was glad to see that he came out with his prologue to his next Faces of Cataclysm video "The Gilnean Fallow". If you haven't seen his other Faces of Cataclysm videos I really recommend checking them out. Here is the video I will tell you my thoughts about it underneath as to not spoil it.



This may really be the best Story machinima I have ever seen. Maybe because it contains one of my favourite speechs in the game to date. To think is just the prologue to the actual video is beyond amazing. This video actually kept me strapped to my chair watching. I almost think you could show this video to someone who knows nothing about WoW and they will be beyond amazing with the video. Amazing job Melvenor as always and thank you.

The Movie Contest

Anyone who hasn't seen all Movie Contest winners you can watch them all here. Now they are all good but to me the 2nd place video is by far the greatest story of them all. I just find the "Love Rocket" the one which came in first place to be rather cheesy and a feel good story. I think maybe "I AM FORSAKEN" takes a path that Blizzard doesn't want to go down. This may also be the reason that Melvenor's "Home, Sweet Andorhal" didn't even place, since in my opinion was better written and put together than any of them. There is talk that these forsaken videos woobifies the forsaken into something they are not. To me this isn't true at all.

There is a difference to being all happy about being undead and having Sunday morning pancakes then making the people pay for the life you are now living. Sylvanas is the prime example of this. She accepts what she has been given, but of course she wanted to seek revenge against Arthas and those who would stand against her now. The Forsaken themselves are a redemption story. Hence their name "Forsaken" they were castoffs. These were once members of the Alliance which now wants nothing to do with them. Imagine how that would effect you. It would be like you losing everyone you knew because someone came a shot off half your face. You lived but no one wants anything to do with you.

So because of this attitude 1 movie, which of course should have been included with the winners is excluded and of the movies included in the winners circle the best one didn't even win. Maybe it is just me though. Watch the 4 videos in the from the link above and then watch the movie below and honestly tell me which is the best.

Melvenor

So I haven't done a lot of machinima posts lately and people have been asking for them and the reason is pretty simple. Some of the best machinamators have been sending in their submissions to Blizzcon so they have been unable to release them to the public. With this in mind there is one machinamator I want to tell you all about today, and he is Melvenor. He does all of his machinama about Role playing and Lore calling himself "the conjurer or RP machinima". He just started a new series, which he calls "the Faces of Cataclysm" here is the most recent of the videos



Basically these are stories about what is happening in Cataclysm. Where everyone is going, what side everyone is on, and what the plan is. I recommend checking them out as they are very informative for those of us that know our lore and those of us that haven't got a clue. I greatly suggest you look at his video about Quel'Delar, which in my opinion is the best of all of his videos.

Now I know what you are thinking, he role plays as a blood elf. Yes, I know he does, but I was able to get past that. So check him out tell me what you think.
