Best Screen Captured Moments

So when I was thinking about what to make some sort of list about today. I had quite a few ideas all of which I will get to, but today what I came to decide on today was Screen Captured moments. You see there is many games good or bad which have those moments which happen and you are like wow I wish I could have that as a picture. Some of these moments are iconic, some of them are forgotten after years away from them. It remains to be said though that the shot itself will always be epic. SO here are my top 5 which I think you will all appreciate.

5. Sarah Kerrigan during the battle with Narud

There are countless screens which you could have taken from the fight itself but this is by far my favourite. It is iconic in the fact that her is the Queen of Blades focused on her goal doing what she has to no matter the cost. It gives me nerd chills just looking at it.

4. Leah turning into Diablo

Again right after the betrayal your first playthrough you are still in shock of what happened. Diablo is now the person who has been helping along the way. This is also right before the fight with Imperius so seeing this just reminds me of how epic that fight was and the transformation itself.

3. Illidan Stormrage "The Betrayer Speech"

This is the first time you see Illidan's full half demon half nightelf transformation. This is also the opening screen to Warcraft III Frozen Throne. Which I still feel has one of the greatest stories of any RTS and they aren't even supposed to have stories. Everytime I see this pic I say the words in my head again and again "Betrayer it was I who was betrayed" if that isn't reason enough to put this on the list I don't know what is.

2. Plane Crash Behind Drake

There truly is nothing to love about this. Ignore the fact you were on the plane. Ignore the fact that you are in the middle of the desert. Ignore all of that and the shot is still amazing. This screams "cool guys don't look at explosions" and I don't even know if this was done on purpose. There really is nothing to not love about Drake's character and this shot explains it all in a nutshell.

1. Sephiroth In The Flames

There is no moment in gaming which is analyzed more than this. There is no moment which shows off a greater villian. There is pain hatred and insanity all together. I  don't think there was any doubt of any of you when you were reading this list of what would be number 1 and that is why it is #1. The shot of shots one which all will be compared to till the end of time.

The End Is Near

So many of you may remember awhile back I did a post about a particular plant that seemed to be just a little too happy. That seemed to sing and smile too much for my liking. A pet that was so happy and so nice that it made you believe that one night you would wake up with a knife to your throat with its giant eyes looking right into yours. Many of you said I was crazy. Some of you agreed with me and my craziness. Today though our fears have come to the forefront. I give you this!

That's right. Someone was nice enough to send this to me and point out the fact that the flowers are now meeting and plotting their takeover of the world. And you all said I was crazy...

Ask Gauss

Well it is Easter and it's Sunday so that means it is time for some Ask Gauss. Been an interesting week and I apologize for my slow response to emails this week. I'll get back to my 1 day rule this coming week. If I don't be sure to give me crap for it. Anyways let's get to the questions

Do you think with the stat changes and how they work in Cataclysm will make the game too easy?

First off changing the way stats work isn't going to make you have more skill. Sure it will make figuring out things easier, but let's be honest. At the moment you can go to any site that knows anything worth a damn and figure this out. You can download spreadsheets, rawr, tankpoints, or ratingbuster. All of these things have been doing a lot of the work for you. So will the stat changes make you as better player? Basically only if you were completely retarded in the first place. I am liking how they are letting you somewhat change your equipment, which will lead to some interesting character choices. Let me also say something else about this. WoW is not a hard game to play. This is why it is so popular you don't need to be amazing to play it. To play it well maybe, but to get through much of it you can be just an ok player. If WoW was as hard as say Demon Souls I think the player base would be a lot smaller then the talk of making it easier would have much more of an impact.

Where do you think are some of the best visual spots in WoW?

Well this is a matter of opinion, but zone wise I tend to think the best looking zones are Mulgore, Nagrand, and Howling Fjord. Now that is zone wise. I thinking my header screen from Newman's Landing is quite a place to look out into the ocean. Also the Twin Colossal out in Feralas gives a great view. Storm peaks has so great views up by Ulduar and just flying in the mountains. I would also include instances in this. Ulduar is great for, and in my opinion the Algalon encounter is home to the best views in all of WoW even if you can avoid the seizures.
What would you say to me if I died like an idiot on trash in ICC?

Ever Been Here?

So this week I asked you all to send along screenshots of places where not everyone has been or seen. Many of them I didn't know about or had even seen actual shots of them. I had limited amount of space and decided to just post the screens and not go into description on every single one. Little blurb for each seems to suffice. So have a look tell me if you have ever been or know someone who has. So lets have a look

Some sort of hidden troll dancing vilage called Shatterspear. Seems like the party keeps on going here.
This made me laugh only reason why I am including it.

No idea where this is I got no description for it.

Ironforge Airport.

Hidden Well in Azshara I am told. Didn't get instructions how to get here.

Mount Hyjal Zone. Come xpac we will be in here. They will have to take down the construction signs then I guess.

Old Ironforge got here a few times when feared in the kings room...

I am told this is the entrance and basement to the main building on GM island. Looks cool might explain why it takes them so long to answer tickets.

No Alt Z... but this is some ruins of SMC and since its in shambles its why I am including it. I got a very long explanation on how to get here, but I will leave that all to you to look up if you're interested.

This is Newman's Landing, been here many times and its quite a swim. There is quite a few mysteries about this place even if it looks very uninteresting.

Even if someone failed and didn't press Alt Z. I still like this one. You can get to it under Kara.

This is Elwyn Falls. Which is only supposed to be visual from the flight path from SW to IF. Or so I am told. Here is a blurb I found talking about it. "Elwyn Falls is another well-developed area not accessible to most players yet visible from the flight path. While the area may just be more decoration for riders, there are rumors linking the cabin above the falls to Nat Pagle, who was lost on his last fishing expedition and whose life is linked to the mysterious "Ashbringer" legendary sword. There is a school of fish that never despawns by one of the camps below the falls..."
This is a prison inside Stormwind which was supposed to be harder version of Stockades.

I was told by the sender these are of the Emerald Dream. The first one is a screen of Dreamcatcher Valley the second seems to be weird crop circles.

Here are some of the screens people included from the crypts under Karazhan. I have been here and it is one of the best looking and creepiest places WoW has. I really hope they do something with it some day.

Now basically here is the creepiest room in WoW. By far the most popular screens I received. Take a look at the few I have included and you decide.

You Fail At Screenshots If...

For this weeks reader's post I ask people to tell me the stories of interesting places they have seen or have gone to in WoW. I also asked if you had a screenshot of it to include it this way I could see what you were trying to explain. So after looking at the massive amounts of screenshots people have sent this weeks fail post wasn't at all hard to come up with. So welcome to my madness!

You Fail At Screenshots If...

• You don't press Alt + Z this is even more fail if you showed me you have the default UI
• It is scenic and you have nameplates on
• You think screenshots of Naxx bosses dead is impressive
• You are describing a completely different screen then the one you took
• You think you running into a wall is epic
• You think think sending me motion capture of you swimming on your turtle mount is funny
• You think sending a screen of a ret pally topping DPS proves anything besides your group being fail
• You think you on a boat saying "I'm on a Boat" is funny
• You think a snake trap on a boat, airship, or balcony is nearly as funny as snakes on a mother fucking plane

So I got a lot of emails today and yesterday where the two new Screenshots on the blog are taken from. So since today was a pretty crazy day I figured I would use today to showcase my afternoon to find new screens to showcase on the site. I thank Tawnos for being my Photographer.

Taken in front of Grim batol. Was actually Tawnos' idea to go here first as he want to see the Old Azeroth places which won't be the same in the not too distant future.

I just like this shot because it seems as though I am thinking about charging someone and owning them. Taken near the entrance to Grim Batol. Again like the previous come Cataclysm this shot probably won't exist.

You may think this was actually hard to pull off, but it was actually quite simple. I think though if it was taken from below would have been better. Oh well I can show people this to say "hey I stood up there!"

Perfect screen here that I like a lot. Damn in the background. What you can't see if Tawnos almost falling off the waterfall to his death to get this shot. We both ended up dying eventually, but it was all worth it for the shot!

The header picture is taken looking out on the Great Sea basically the opposite angel to this shot and of course the "help" picture is taken with Tawnos' Eagle eyes at the base of Grim Batol. Always love my screenshots and will be sure to always change it up. Enjoy the last day before reset.

The World that is Warcraft

Interesting title eh? It really is pretty simple. Yesterday while I was bored or really waiting for a guildie to bring me the mats to craft him some bracers I decided to look through some of my screen shots. Let's just say through all the years I have played this game I have amassed quite a bit. Of course there is the normal ones you take of your UI or a conversation you just had to share with someone else. These of course are perfectly logical reasons to take screen shots.

But today is not about those screen shots. Maybe doing a post with my chat log for a day might be interesting. Today I am going to share some screens taken basically of the world which is warcraft. So now the title makes sense... These are ones caught at maybe the right moment or maybe a little too late. Or maybe the scene at the time made me think about something else entirely.
