Ask Gauss
Sunday! Here we are on yet another happy Sunday realizing that our weekend is just about over. Also realizing that we really didn't spend it the way we intended to. Well at least we can watch the Walking Dead tonight so it will not be a total waste. Well instead of being depressed why don't we see the questions for the week.
Do you really think Azeroth would be the best gaming world to explore?
Well that's what I said in my list. Like I also said everyone is going to have different opinions. I know for me being able to play World of Warcraft gave me a sense of the world that much more. playing the RTS games I always thought the world was quite interesting and unique. Not just because I enjoy fantasy worlds, but because how everything is connected. Past and Present. I think a lot of fantasy worlds the origin of them is a lot more in the dark, but in Azeroth the landscape speaks to its origins and culture, which is why I find it so intriguing.
Do you think "The Last of Us 2" will be a big letdown?
Anytime you have a great game the one that follows it is always in for tough criticism. 3 big examples are Final Fantasy 8, Diablo III, and Assassin's Creed 3. This at the time of released were looked down upon for a variety of reasons. Mostly in my mind because the games that came before them and the characters within them were so grand that there was no way that people wouldn't be disappointed with what came next. I think this may happen with the second The Last of Us game. Do I think it will be a bad game? No not at all, but it will be following in the footsteps of one of the greatest games ever made, which is a tough thing to do.
Where has Bagellord been?
Jumping off a boat somewhere I assume.
There you have it this week's questions all there to see. Thank you to everyone who sent something in regardless if I got to it on here or not. It would not be possible to do this without all of your contribution. Just know I will get to your questions eventually if I haven't all ready. You now have my permission to enjoy the rest of your weekend

You Fail At Saying I Know Nothing About Gaming If...
Fail Day! Yes it is that day of the week again. It is also Groundhog day so I may have woken up on the wrong side of the bed or something. When I was preparing for this week's Fail Day post I had a few topics, but I got side tracked. It appears someone takes the time every week to read each of my blogs and complain that I know nothing. Now I was thinking about featuring him in a Reader Post, but decided to make Fail Day all about Xendor. So here goes
You Fail At Saying I Know Nothing About Gaming If...
- You spend most of your time on an XBOX
- You think Call of Duty is the greatest game ever
- You play one game, and anyone who doesn't play it is a noob
- You take offence when I don't include your favourite game in my lists
- You have never played any of the other games I mention in my lists
- When you don't get the response you like in an email you resend the same email multiple times saying I didn't get the point
- You think real gamers only play consoles
- Your mother bought the last game you played
- You believe real gamers only care about multiplayer
- You don't play RPGs because they take away time from your Call of Duty
- You have never played a game that wasn't for XBOX
- When you wear a headset you believe it gives you super powers
- Your solution to everything is to challenge someone to Zombie mode
And Finally
- You make me want to spend time with Bagellord
There you have it this week's edition of fail. Hope you all enjoyed it. Maybe now will have time Xendor will have time for something else.

Ask Gauss
How would you rate 2015 as a year for gaming?
We saw many great titles come out in 2015. Not nearly as much as people would like, but to say it was a disappointment that would be discounting some of the great games, which we all got to play. Now as I was talking about on Thursday there will be much more selection this year so the number of people who will be happy will be much more significant. Overall though if giving a 1-10 arbitrary score for the year I would give 2015 a score of 7. There were some great games just not a large amount and there was some waiting in between especially for those who have specific tastes.
Do you feel Starcraft needs to do more about balance for Legacy of the Void?
Now we just had a patch and sure there were not any major changes and I agree with it at the moment. People are still getting used to the new units and finding ways to deal with them. Do I think some things need to be adjusted? Yes, of course, I do, but it is the how which is more important to me. I much prefer changes that end up happening once rather than changes that have to keep getting tweaked over and over again. Leaving players to adapt and adapt. I like the open concept feedback that they are having with Legacy and I hope they stick to it.
Why did you feel the need to take a long vacation?
Well sometimes the world gives you too many Bagellords.
There you have it this week's questions all answered. Thank you to everyone who sent something in, and thank you to all those who have been extremely patient waiting for me to get back to them with the backlog that I have. This really wouldn't be possible without all of you so know I will get to yours eventually.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Ask Gauss
Sunday! Yes it is that time of the week. Your weekend is coming to an end and you are wondering where in the hell it went. I am just as baffled as you are as I just sat down and realized I had questions to answer for the week. Here we go though let's get to it.
So I read your Esports piece. Do you think it is only a matter of time before we see Esports neck and neck with other sports on television?
Now I would say the viewership is already there. Millions tune in around the world on twitch to watch. Not only but thousands up thousands watch the events live. Now I would say right now the sponsorship is there to make this happen on mainstream television the question really is now do the events want that? Now I don't see it being a bad thing, but you never know. They may have to give up some broadcasting rights and change the equal and the expectations of content. I guess only time will tell.
Do you think it is too late to be releasing games still on previous generation systems?
Actually yes. Right now I would see anything still being released on the previous systems as a cash grab. It requires more development and it will be a downgrade in quality. Also you will be taking time away from the product you as a developer is best suited for release on. Giving your customers not the best product possible because you want to make more money really is the definition of greed. Really is sickening to think about.
Whatever happened to Bagellord?
Fell off a boat.
There they are questions all wrapped up for the week. Thanks to everyone who sent something in, and hopefully you and me can figure out what happened to our weekend.

You Fail At Trash Talking If...
Fail Day! Yes it is that time once again. Also today is a great day because the NHL season starts today! Yes that is the hockey crazed Canadian coming out in me, but I don't care. Go Leafs Go! With hockey starting, and some recent events in my own little gaming world I thought I would do this week's piece on trash talking so here we go.
You Fail At Trash Talking If...
- Any of your trash talking includes Call of Duty
- When you loose horribly after your endless banter you disconnect yourself so you have an excuse
- Your skills are trumped by Bagellord
- Your APM is so low it is actually difficult to calculate
- The words "Your Mom" comes out of your mouth while you are talking
- You are a Habs fan
- No one has actually ever witnessed your so called "greatness"
- You think of random horrible excuses why you cannot play the game you are the greatest at
- You are the best rogue on the server
- You were Diamond in LoL but your history obviously points to the fact you were never higher than Gold
- You apologize for your trash talking
- You say "I am the best at ___" followed by "You do you do ____"
- You own people with Goliaths in Starcraft II always in 1v1
- When you lose you enter a state of rage where random giberish comes out of your mouth or is some how typed. This is followed by a moment of silence, which is then followed by the words "I am done with this stupid shit"
- The words good, great, amazing, and awesome are not words which would ever be used to describe you.

You Fail At Being A Noob If...
You Fail At Being a Noob If...
- Your favourite method of turning is not done by using the keyboard
- You have the time to make hotkeys
- You use a wired mouse
- You play games on difficulties that don't begin with the letter E
- The number of games you have beaten requires more than 1 hand to count
- Call of Duty isn't your favourite game
- You don't think LoL requires more skill than Sc2
- You know the differences between RPG and ARPG
- You don't see the Wii as a serious gaming system
- You don't own an Xbox
- You don't refresh forum posts every 30 minutes to see if someone replied to your thread
- You do not think LFM stands for Looking for Man
- Your idea of a gamer girl isn't a girl wearing glasses and holding a controller from 1985
- You don't strive to be as awesome as Bagellord
There you have it this week's edition of Fail. So no more bugging me about picking on those who are that special I gave you your own Fail Day.

Ask Gauss
Why do you think it is so popular to build landmarks from other games in Minecraft?
First off I don't play Minecraft nor do I have an itch to play it, but I can probably shed some light on to this. Gamers will build things they know and what others can relate to so they can show it off. It you built a landmark from your town or even your country not everyone would know it when they see it. Although if you built something from a famous game then other gamers from places all over the world would recognize it. It is the world we live in that more people can recognize Orgrimmar then Istanbul.
On a side note. In my Rift dimension I am making a house or castle basically now and working on a throne room. In the throne room I plan on building the Iron Throne. Why? Because it is awesome, who wouldn't want a throne made out of swords, and it is something people will see and say ya that is the Iron Throne.
What is one of your biggest gaming regrets?
Not catching that damn turtle... No but seriously I tend to have no regrets when I do things. I go all in in mostly everything I do. Doing something better maybe. I used to have a guild in WoW "The Army of Gauss" way back around when the game first came it. It started out as a joke but then people flocked to the guild and it became completely massive. More than someone could possible control. The amount of people created a guild which was like 4 guilds. PvE, PvP, Leveling, and Trade Chat. When I wanted to do more with WoW I had to create a new guild where we could focus on the end game raiding I was getting into so this was how Three Score was born from the PvE section of AoG. That ended up being awesome and had some amazing times. What I wish I did better was leaving AoG. It was my namesake after all.
So what you think Bagellord has been up to lately?
I believe I found a picture to describe this perfectly

Gotta Love Bagellord
Most of you know how Bagellord is an iconic figure to the Gauss Nation for his amazing and yet stupid tendencies. We have seen him miss a boat on countless occasions. Die from fatigue trying to save someone from drowning. Been voted Noob of the Year by the Gauss Nation for 2 consecutive years, and so much more. If you want a refresher of the one and only Bagellord check out the labels and read the posts will be well worth your time.
Thank you once again Bagellord for making my day better.

You Fail At Being A Deathknight If...
You Fail At Being A Deathknight If...
- Out of all the races you chose to be a Blood Elf
- You complain starting at level 55 makes leveling harder
- You are too good to actually use professions
- You cannot solo group quests
- You use anti-magic shell against a warrior or a rogue
- You deathgrip a boss because "you can"
- You wiped the raid because you pulled the boss in the wrong presence
- You drop Death and Decay to pad the numbers in uneeded situations
- You name your toon "Spawnofgauss"
- You use army of the dead on fights at require add control
- You name your Deathknight alt in relation to your mains name
- You don't have a preference to your ghouls name.
- You think spell penetration gems work just as well in PvE
- You have never killed anyone with Path of Frost

That is it for this week's edition of fail. Turn in next week to see which class will be next. If you are still raiding good luck on this Free Loot Tuesday they are in fact running out as we get closer and closer to Cataclysm.

Ask Gauss
Why do keep doing For the Horde's and Old raids if you already have the achievement?
The answer to this isn't difficult at all. Besides my silly quest to get everyone a Black War Bear I enjoy world PvP. I miss the days of TM vs SS and the fights at XR and Astranaar. Although the lag was insane the epicness of it was amazing. Sure it was mostly unorganized for the most part but it had the real warcraft feel. I am a great fan of the games lore and as you all must know there is no good or bad. There is Alliance vs Horde and then them against everyone else. For the Horde is just a way to rally people to do world PvP. If there was another way I would do that. It really is something I hope Blizzard takes a look at in the future to bring it back. World PvP shouldn't jsut be about ganking people.
With Older raids it is kind of the same thing with something else as well. I love to see how the game has progressed over the years. It is really mind boggling. I was there seeing all that content when it was new so I am a good person to gauge it. It is also very sad sometimes how easy it is done now, since I remember being there night after night putting my time in to earn that kill. When I do these runs I try to explain the fights so people know what it was like when it was current content. Some fights are still challenging(when you make them so) 8 manning Kael in TK was fun as was 2 manning MC. The fact of the matter is the content is still in the game and I want people to see what I have seen regardless if it is currently a joke to do.
Why do you care if people do things "wrong"?
As was said here "wrong" is all a matter of interpretation. I know some people play this game for different reasons some may not be interested in raiding at all. If that is the case they really it doesn't apply. I have researched all classes, know specs, gems, and chants which are the best for every class. I do this so I am more knowledgeable and know how each class works. I am not an expert by any means and I know there is always more to learn. But i do know more than the average person. When people ask me for help I gladly give them my advice and my opinion. Do they need to take it? Of course not. I was telling them what I believe would increase their DPS, HPS, TPS, or survivability. What bugs me is not when people think they know better, because frankly I know some people do. It is when they discount me as knowing nothing. This is when I take offense to it. The great thing about this game is there is no wrong way. Of course there are better ways to do things, but there is no wrong.
Do you have plans to meet Bagellord or Wally?
umm no.
So that is all for this week. Send in your questions and I will be glad to answer them. Also tomorrow is the last day to send in your WoW jokes for Friday's post. Enjoy less raiding numbers today Free Loot Tuesday was yesterday!

Noobs of the Year
For #10 I was actually surprised, because this almost happened a year ago. Sure I remember it, but I was there. Some of the people who voted for Jakezombie weren't there and voted only by word of mouth. I guess falling through the hole in the pipe on the way to Gluth while you are supposed to be tanking is something worth remembering. Congrats Jake on making the list. Sadiee will be proud of you.

How could we have a noob list without a ret pally? Hercules was voted in because he pressed a giant red button when told not to. I am not sure what made him press it. Maybe the "DO NOT PRESS THIS BUTTON" or maybe the countless times everyone was told not to press it. We may never know, but for this act Herc was voted #8 on the noob of the year list. Congrats to you!
#7 on the list I combined. There was many many submissions of random people who were crazy socket humpers, but they only got 1 or maybe 2 votes. So to all of them I have combined them all to be #7. Congrats you socket humpers enjoy your +2 int, 8AP, +3spirit, and all those lovely other useless bonuses.
This guy was so epic everyone who voted for him couldn't even remember the name. Just known as "the person who didn't know how to dive". This leads me to believe that if someone could remember his name he would have made it much higher on the list. After all when is the first time you get a quest where you have to go to the bottom of a lake? Congrats Mr. Unknown guy you're #6!
The #5 spot on the list goes to Addyson for having a spec with 71 points in frost. This produced enough punch lines to last a lifetime. The spec is what it is very solid...
Now this next submission is not from Llane, and I have never had the pleasure. I guess this shows how the Nation has grown. His name is Mortøn. He apparently argues day in and day out that using Stamina gems as a tank is the worse thing you can do. Every socket he has uses parry. He is consistently dying in VoA because healers just can't keep him up when a boss hits him. Congrats on making #4 on the list. I'm sure your mom is proud of you.
Eryia was a discipline priest whose tank target would always die over and over. She would be consistently the lowest on healing meters. Now she was a discipline priest, but that doesn't mean ret pallys should be above you. She would consistently blame the tank they were not doing everything they could. Eryia is the proof that no matter how much gear you have if you're awful you're just awful. Grats on #3 who knows maybe this will make your target live!
Wally has only been known to us for about a week, but this was significant enough to get him the #2 spot on the Noob of the Year list. Wally not only complained the entire instance he was not getting to do the whole thing, but he sat outside therefore missing out on the badges he was complaining he wouldn't be earning. Not to mention he is using the most horrible gems in his gear. Hit rating to match sockets when he already has 500+ hit among many others. Congrats Wally you have been immortalized by being #2. I told you I would make you famous!
And finally the Noob of the Year voted by all of you is none other than Bagellord. Some of the moments of the past year had him jumping off a boat to save someone only to end up dying from fatigue. During Hallow's End he was there in Brill waiting when everyone saw him. People told him he was famous for being an idiot and he thought it was the greatest thing in the world. He got stuck in Stormwind for not dismounting, and of course he is still not Level 80. There are many other reasons, but it is with pleasure I give Bagellord the following achievement.Friday, November 20, 2009
Bagellord Moments
So when it was day of the dead you know how there was that bread you could make? Well I figured I would try to scam some people on the auction house by putting the milk and the flour on the auction house. Now I figured if I got one or two people to buy my milk for 7g a glass or the flour for 1g a bag it would have been enough to make me smile. Well let's just say I got more than that. Someone bought all of it! Yes, all of it. That is also not the best part after he had bought it out he whispered me and asked if I had time to make him more. He invited me to group. I figured this guy was an idiot I should take advantage. So not only did this guy buy more off of me he stood right beside me while I bought it off the vendor in Orgrimmar. it was completely priceless.
I was in ashenvale leveling an alt when I saw in general channel that someone was looking for a particular quest item. I jokingly told him it was up in felwood by timbermaw hold. Never did I expect he would actually go. That was until he whispered me invited me to group and asked me if he was in the right place. He was talking about how many times he died on his way up there and how he was now completely broken. I was laughing so hard. Why did he believe me? While he was talking to me he was getting owned by all the timbermaw in the cave and I saw him die 3 or 4 times. When I decided to go even further and told him I must have been wrong it was in winterspring. He was so polite about me being "wrong" and thanked me for the help and was on his way. I almost felt bad...
So you know how everyone gets those random tells that you are a special WoW player and you won a mount. It then tells you to go to this keylogger website. Well I was in trade one day and this guy was laughing at everyone saying how he was a special player and everyone sucked that they weren't getting a mount and he was. He said he would be riding his spectral tiger while we all weren't lucky enough. I couldn't help but laugh. The best part was though a couple hours later in Org I saw the same toon doing gold farming spam. I felt bad for him, but then who is that idiotic to go to those links.
During the Halloween event one of my guildies was saying how awesome it was that the headless horsemen mount flew and is also a ground mount. A bunch of us convinced him that if you had a pumpkin on your head all ground mounts work the same way. When he jumped off Dalaran and died we all couldn't stop laughing.
So many times in molten core we convinced new people to jump through the "window" behind Golemagg because people believed us that it port them to Rag. Nothing was better than when people would say I guess I missed it since I am dead. When they ended up doing it again it was even better.
Omg put Novicane's pull in. So we were doing Vael in Blackwing Lair when the fight was gone over and the strat we used. It must have taken like 10-15 minutes to explain when we we all clumped by the door and BOOM. Novicane shoots the boss and pulls Vael and kills everyone. Let this be a less in hunters auto shot.
I used to play on a pvp server when I was questing in the barrens and this level 80 alliance was in the barrens and was afk sitting in the middle of the road. When I walk by and see this hordie beating on him doing like very minimal damage. When he starts spamming general looking for more to kill this 80. There ended up being 10 of them beating on this alliance warrior. I thought about helping, but it was pretty funny to watch. It made me think of "the ballad of a noob" video except there was like 10 of them and they weren't level 1. And of course the guy came back and bladestormed them all and killed them like instantly. You would figure this was the end of it when they guy that started it all and formed a raid. Again and again I watched this 80 kill all these low levels trying to swarm him. Ya they were a bunch of idiots.
So after and alliance raid that killed Thrall I was in the throne room when this noob asked me how we get Thrall back. I told him someone has to run RFC in order to get a potion that brings him back to life. I never expected him to believe me until I saw in trade "LFG for RFC to get potion to rez Thrall". Yes he was special.
So I was in a raid with Gauss and we were going to SSC when first off this one guy was asking where every instance was which was bad enough, but i guess its expect if people never did them. But when we got to SSC and Gauss said you had to dive down to get into the instance. He asked something I never thought I would ever hear let alone from a level 80 "How do you dive in water?" Yes he really asked that.
So I play a mage and I read your blog everyday. Now I am not part of a great raiding guild but we do ok. To get on with it we had a mage join the guild expecting to raid and I was asked by the guild leader to go over things with him so he wouldn't be confused in raids. When I talked to him he acted like he knew everything and didn't want to hear it from me. He told me he did like 6k DPS on like every fight in his last guild and how myself and no one else in this guild was going to touch his Damage. I looked at his spec and it was 71 points in frost. It made me smile and laugh.
So that is it for this week. Thank you all for the submissions they were all very entertaining. If yours didn't get in don't worry there is always a chance to get yours up next week. On Sunday again I will post the new topic so be sure to look back for it. Raids will run as normal this weekend and we may do an Ultimate run on Saturday I have yet to decide. Remember if you want in on it get in early as I don't save spots. Maybe this weekends raids won't have as much controversy behind them.

OMG It's Bagellord!!!!
Anyways I stood right in front of Bagellord and of course when I pointed at him everyone went nuts. "OMG ITS BAGELLORD!!" along with the standard /cheer , /gasp, /facepalm and all of the emotes you would expect. When of course I had to ask him "So how do you like being famous?" being clueless he responded "I am Famous?" Apparently he was as quick as he ever was.
Brill ended up getting pretty busy awaiting the Headless Horseman, and everyone who came Bagellord seemed to be proud telling everyone he was famous. I am not sure he has read anything I have written about him, but either way he seemed pretty excited with all the attention he was getting. Isn't it great how I could make some one's day like that? Who cares if he didn't know it was a more laughing at him then with him kinda thing if he is completely clueless about it what does it matter?
So here is to you Bagellord a God among noobs and a possible punch line to every joke. At a time like this there is only one thing to do really. In honor of Bagellord here it is my first tribute video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu_moia-oVI

The Story of Bagellord....Well Maybe
He was born into what many call a normal American home, clueless to his surroundings and his parents were cousins. He was babysat by the television, where teletubbies became his brothers and sisters. he liked the red one because it was the same colour as his cup his mother would fill once a day, and of course it also matched his leash she kept him on so he couldn't leave the room.
He grew up and went to school and learned pretty much nothing useful after all this was America. Wait I take that back he learned that Saddam Hussein was evil, Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, that they would go to war and it was not about oil, and most importantly it would be over in a couple weeks. He achieved high marks in all subjects mostly because his teachers were illiterate or because his stupid as was using words with more than 6 letters, and we all know this impresses people.
It was after one of these days of viewing his report card he and his "friends". I say "friends" because he was a fat kid, and we all know people only hang around the fat kid so you can convince him to eat things. These "friends" thought he was free entertainment as would a lot of you, have you ever watched an eating competition? She now you get my point. Where was I now? Oh ya, today was special because all of his "friends" had chipped in and bought as many Bagels as they could. They all wanted to see him eat as many as fast as he could. They all had the stop watches ready. Of course he agreed because these were his only "friends" and it was better than going home to watch "Young and the Restless" with his mother and father.
He accepted the challenge and was flying through them all like you would expect any overgrown oaf to do. When all of the sudden he began to choke. He was sent to the emergency room where they revived him. With all kinds of people standing around him he could only say one thing "I AM THE BAGEL LORD" The doctor looked at him then said to his mother, who was also his cousin "Are we on for tonight?...and ya his brain was without oxygen for some time as you can see from his outburst his mental capacity has dropped significantly" Upon hearing this he replied "You calling me stupid?" his mother looked at him smiled and said "No, son you were always stupid, now your going to be retarded."
The Years past and somehow he survived. When one day his mother gave him a copy of World of Warcraft. "You can be anyone your retarded ass wants to be son". He smiled and nodded and had it installed and loaded on his computer. When he discovered he had to make a choice on his race. He picked a bloodelf because he liked how they jumped and spun around like a fairy. He then had to choose which class to which he narrowed it down to a Ret pally or a DK. He thought it was awesome that ret pallys could bubble and roll their faces on the keyboard and still be good, but then a DK was a hero class and started at level 55. If he was level 55 people would think he was awesome! Now he only needed a name, a name that would strike fear into anyone who encountered his fairy spinning moronic ass. Ah yes Bagellord it would it would strike fear into everyone!
After some leveling and complaints that he was absolutely clueless especially with the way he spec'd he saw Gauss asking for more for a "For The Horde" run. He had heard of Gauss and hoped he could finally teach him to live up to his awesomeness. Bagellord got his invite and his dream was granted. Gauss spoke to him directly many times during the run "Bagellord your horrible", "I have never seen someone so retarded","Did you really jump off the boat after I said not to?", "Yes this is Stormwind you idiot, look to your left to see the Welcome to Stormwind sign", "If you have to ask how to turn down your settings Bagellord you are obviously retarded", "Where is Ashenvale? You are that special kind of stupid aren't you Bagellord" those were just some of the thigns Gauss said to him. He was happy Gauss thought so highly of him. Bagellord knew Gauss would had a special place for him, hell he even noticed Gauss would always compare people to him. Bagellord thought he finally di have a real friend.
And that is the end of the story for now of one of the Biggest idiots I have ever met in my WoW existence. Who knows if this guy can do anything else to amaze me, I wouldn't count it out yet
