Merry Christmas

Happy Monday everyone! Now normally on a Monday I like you some sort of video for Machinima Monday. Don't worry I am still going to do that. It also is the Carbot Christmas special which really is in itself something special. Before you go ahead and watch that just wanted to let all of you know I am going to be taking a blog break for the Holidays. Don't worry I will be back in full force come 2015 and I am not going to drift away into nothingness. I hope everyone no matter if you have been a long time reader or not or even if you play a Ret Pally have a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

Yes I know that was that amazing!

Ask Gauss

Sunday! Yes here we are at the end of the weekend and getting closer and closer to Christmas with each passing day. I am still not ready but hoping to be ready eventually. Before I get on with the shopping I need to finish up though I need to answer some questions for the week so here we go.

Did you or do you plan on buying any Goblins vs Gnomes packs?

I haven't as of yet. As with every free to play game if I enjoy the game and will be playing it I spend on that game what I would spend if the game was being sold. So in this case I will spend $40-50 on card packs and then be done with it. All of my saved up gold will be used for arena runs and then that will be it. I feel it is important to actually be one of the "spenders" since if I am enjoying a game like Hearthstone so much I feel like I should give back. Also the cards themselves will be a Christmas gift to myself.

Do you think they are killing off too many major characters in WoD?

Not really. You have to remember they are trying to build a story and really most of the "killed" characters are already dead in our timeline they just want to make it less confusing for the most part and letting those who weren't part of their deaths in the first place to have a chance to see the epicness with it. The one I am surprised to be killed off so fast though is Ner'zhul. Garrosh you had to think something was coming but Ner'zhul has been in on all the artwork from the very start

Are you taking a holiday break?

I am taking one, but no worries I will say when so people don't think I am dead.

There they are. Questions all done for the week. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and your continued preparation for Christmas

For The Dragonmaw

Friday! Yes the week is already over and it is time to see who wants to be part of the Reader Post this week. As most of you know I am a great fan of the Lore involved in Warcraft and Warlords of Draenor is no different in that regard. When characters who have quite the large story are killed off it is always a big deal and makes you think and reflect on them. This is what Trassk has done with this week's post after his completion of the new UBRS. So have a look!

So I finally did Upper Blackrock Spire today on heroic and killed Zaela, good group and no troubles figuring out the boss mechanics. I then began to remember back in cata when we first meet Zaela, how we sided with her and the rogue dragonmaw orcs against its corrupt leader, and overthrew him, leading to us the player making a bond with Zaela though the twilight highlands. I even liked her quote "Wherever the horde takes us, we will keep our heads held high, and our blood pure, good riddance Mor'ghor, a new dragonmaw is born this day!"

The one problem I had with her back then was because she went from being under the chock-hold of one corrupt ruler, right into the arms of another without question. But regardless of it I liked her attitude and character, and I liked the thought of the dragonmaw reforming and joining the horde, with her leading it.

All that of course has turned to shit now, and Zaela got slapped with the villian label, just like Nazgrim, and made into a killable boss, making all we got to know and think good about her from cata just meaningless now.

It got me then thinking on two fronts, and extended to other characters, when you think about it from a lore standpoint, Garrosh didn't just kill alliance and horde characters over his time in the story, from Cairne to Kinndy Sparkshine and Rhonin to the golden lotus, he was also responsible for the paths other characters went down, like Nazgrim and Zaela, who followed him so blindly they became enemies of everyone by the end of it all. Really, anything Garrosh touched turned to shit.

On the other hand though, looking at the writers, I can't help but keep wondering why, what was the purpose of this, surely they must have know years ahead of time the progression of certain characters in how they would end up, and so i just wonder why then build up such characters, just to make them into yet more loot bags for us to whack each day?

There you have it RIP Zaela you will be missed!

Ok You Drink

So let's be honest here for a second. Coming this Christmas season all of us will be doing a lot of gaming. Also we will be doing a bit of drinking. Especially if you are like me. Many of these times the two of them will mix for not only your enjoyment but just for some simple hilarity. So I decided to day to share some of my favourite drinking games you can play for the holiday season which involve gaming.

Wii Sports

Not only is Wii sports fun to play with random people. It is also amazing to play with people while you are drinking. This almost always adds to more drinking and more fun. Two of my favourite drinking games to play with Wii Sports are with Rock Skipping and Bowling. For rock skipping it is simple however many skips you are beaten by in each round that is how long you have to chug your beer for. With bowling however many pins you are beaten by in each frame is how many shots you owe.

Soul Calibur

Every time you are beaten in a round you take a sip of beer. Every time you are soul crushed or ringed out you have a shot. The best part about this game is in a tourney setting with multiple people the championship match is always the most entertaining.

NHL

Every goal scored against you is a shot along with every time you lose a fight. This is best to play on the lowest difficult setting as your goalies tend to play like peewees and the score ends up being 10-9.

Civilization

If you are beaten to a world wonder it will cost you a beer. If you capture a city they drink if you raze a city they have a shot. This can get out of hand quickly and the game never seems to get finished every time I play.

There are the games I know so far. I am planning to come up with one for Hearthstone this coming Christmas. If you have any ideas send them my way.

I've Been Out Of The Game But I Need Back In

Wednesday smack dab in the middle of the week once again. Getting closer and closer to Christmas everyday. With this happening I am thinking over and over again what I would like from the gaming world for Christmas. With that in mind I think this is the perfect opportunity for a list. So here we go.

5. Carbot SC2 Mod Live

So for all of you who don't know Carbot Animations is working on a mode for Starcraft II which will see his unit designs and animations come to life in an actual Starcraft II game. Yes I know this is truly and amazing thing and there are not that many more things I would like to see for Christmas.

4. Sea Turtle

For years  have been fishing in WoW trying to fish up this damn turtle. For years it has been a joke to throw it in my face they have got the turtle after such and such casts. I am mobbed by those I know and don't sitting on their turtles in front of me. Let it be no more.

3. Legacy Of The Void Cinematic

Blizzard always makes beautiful cinematics and I am willing to wait to see this one come to life in all of its glory. Not too long though as a protoss player this really is something which gets harder and harder to wait for.

2. Witcher 3 Not Delayed Again

We learned on Monday that Witcher 3 would be delayed again until May 19 another 12 weeks added to production. Ever since this game was announced it has been one I cannot wait to play. That does mean I have to actually get the chance to do so though.

1. Uncharted 4 Release Date

Uncharted is one of my favourite series and that hasn't changed with Uncharted 4 coming in 2015. That is all we know though that it is 2015. Give me something please which lets me prepare myself for its eventual arrival.

There you have it. This weeks list. What do you want gaming wise for Christmas? Are your interests similar to mine? As always let me know!

You Fail At Knowing About Goblins vs Gnomes If...

Fail Day! Yes, I know it is getting close to Christmas and I really should be doing Christmasy themed things, but how could I resist doing this. Goblins vs Gnomes is upon us and what better way to celebrate then give it its very own Fail Day?

You Fail At Knowing About Goblins vs Gnomes If...

  • You have no clue what it is
  • You didn't know it came out today
  • You aren't curious how mischief you will get into using the board
  • You haven't been looking at the cards a drooling
  • You don't think every hunter will be running feign death
  • You think all the new cards are bad
  • You didn't know each class is getting a new legendary
  • You were not aware you could have played the expansion in the arena this past weekend for free
  • You don't think this will change rank play specifically
  • You are not curious how the pros are going to use the cards
  • You are not thinking about giving yourself a Hearthstone Christmas gift
  • You don't enjoy randomness in your card selection

and finally

  • You don't play Hearthstone

There you have it now just don't fail. May all your future explosions go in your favour.

We're All Gamers

So I know normally on Monday's I showcase a machinima, or animation, or a live action video for all of you to see and enjoy. I actually enjoy showing you all of you things you may have never seen before. That brings me to this week's showcase which is none of those things. It is something that I think we all forget from time to time and this past weekend's IEM besides all the great games it had, had something else for all of us to remember and it is definitely worth sharing.

And now you can continue with your day

Ask Gauss

Sunday! Yes believe it or not it is Sunday and your weekend is coming to a close. Also means you have 1 less weekend to get all that Christmas Shopping done you have been putting off. Don't worry no pressure. While you are still putting it all off here are the questions I picked for this week.

Goblins vs Gnomes is coming Tuesday. Excited?

Actually very much so. I think this big of a burst of cards is going to make playing on ladder a completely new experience. Will make me actually want to play ladder besides just switching to Arena when I hit rank 20. Also a lot of the cards seem completely insane, and made to play against certain decks currently out there. Also there are cards to enhance those certain decks which makes it even more nuts. So ya I can't wait.

So how is Iron from Ice?

Well for those who are not up to speed this is Telltale's new episodic game based on A Song of Ice and Fire, and the television show Game of Thrones. So far I am liking it. Plays very similar to the Walking Dead game, which is to be expected since it was created to be so. I know I am going to be driving myself crazy finishing it and then waiting for the next episode each time, but it does give you something to look forward to.

Can you stop with all the Christmas references it can be offensive?

I could but I won't.

There they are the questions for the week. Thanks to everyone who sent something in and now you can get back to your regular scheduled weekend.

T'was Some Weeks Before Christmas

Friday! Now you all should know by now unless you are new here that Friday means the Reader Post. The post of the week where I take one of you the Readers Posts and share it with everyone. This week I decided to go with a little Christmas flare. This comes to you from Lurie. Enjoy!

T’was some weeks before Christmas, and in every raid,
Were people all crying ‘bout the game that they played.

Some felt they’d been cheated, the content was bad!
Re-hashing and smashing old models was sad.

The mechanics were simple, a means to get loot.
Just so long as you gave a few newbies the boot.

And elitists, some were, feeling clever and shrewd
As they spoke of our mothers in ways that were lewd.

Getting angry whenever the dps lacked
Or vulgar whenever the healers slacked.

And Heaven so help a tank that would fall,
To them some would say to slash un-install.

Because many now felt entitlement,
Their right to everything for their money spent.

Perhaps thinking that their subscription charge,
Gave them the right to have egos so large.

And so on the forums they whined and they moaned!
In hundreds of posts they raged and they groaned!

“Warcraft is dead! The Dev Team has failed!
The lot of them ought to be beaten and jailed!

For so destroying the game that I love,
We hope someone smites them from high up above!

This patch is lackluster, a gift to the PUGs!
It’s awful old content and loaded with bugs!

Epics are free, the heroics too easy!
Thrall having a baby is horribly cheesy!

Who cares about the free games that you hand us,
When the next expansion is covered in pandas!

We’ve given up with this now, we are done, we are through!
All your players are leaving for something that’s new.

What you have done is nothing short of theft!”
And so the haters all hating this way finally left.

Then the once silent majority erupted with cheer!
They could actually have a Warcraft Christmas this year!

With all the trolls gone and silence in Trade,
They were free to enjoy this game Blizzard made!

So Blizzard made money and the players made friends,
Because all Christmas stories have happy ends.

And the players looked up and heard Metzen say,
Merry Christmas to all, Heroes of the Storm is on the way!

Yes I know I enjoyed that too! Have a good weekend everyone!

Don't Go Past The Tower

So there are many things I would like for Christmas. Many of those things won't happen, and really I don't expect them to. There are also things I hope will happen and would be greatful if they actually did. I don't know how many of you have taken part in the WoW 10 Year Anniversary Tarren Mill vs Southshore battleground but to me I am hoping for Christmas it sticks around.

Why? Well not only does it take me back to the beginning of the PvP system coming to WoW. You know before WSG and AV became the places to be. This was the way you ranked up this was what you did. I was right in the thick of it competing for High Warlord. A title which many of you know I achieved and still wear to this day. Back then it seemed pointless and often was the case where you just endlessly battled back and forth where to apparent victor was ever crowned, but regardless of that fact it was fun as hell.

The new anniversary BG gives that old feel back. Obviously it is not the same, but it brings back the memories of those times. Also gives the newer players who never experienced the madness a chance to see what things were like before the BGs came to be a thing.

Not to mention finishing the BG with a win and being a High Warlord was like a sign from the WoW Gods that they knew I was there pushing the Alliance back like old times. Kept looking behind me to see if I could see my old group of healers keeping me alive just like old times.

So Blizzard if you choose to keep this BG full time I thank you. If it is just going to be around for the anniversary then I will thank you as well for reminding me of the great times of old.

We Checked Every Bulb, Didn't We?

Wednesday meaning the middle of the week and time for a list. I have been trying to think of lists to do that fit the season. Sitting around brainstorming when just randomly I thought of the idea to make one on why it is awesome to be a gamer during the Christmas Season. You all know exactly what I am talking about you are probably already thinking about reasons in your head right now. So let's just skip the intro and get right to it.

5. Laughing At People Buying XBOX One

So this is a new one which started last year. Just randomly doing Christmas shopping and watching people frantically looking to find themselves an XBOX One. I tried to convince someone otherwise before and they just didn't want to hear it. So now I just smirk and think about how glad I am to have a PS4

4. Winter Veil

There are plenty of games which have in game events for the Christmas Season. Winter Veil was the first I ever experienced 10 years ago and really that will always make it the most special to me. There isn't a year that has gone by where I haven't been excited for Winter's Veil

3. Talking Gaming With Relatives

So you don't always see all of your family every holiday. This season is really the time I am always seeing them. We talk about the games throughout the year what we have played what we are excited to see coming and so on and so forth. Always a good time.

2. Watching Non Gamers Fail at Wii Sports

Is there anyone who doesn't enjoy this? Doesn't matter what sport you end up playing but really there is not many things I look forward to then Wii remotes flying across the room or the smack talking which goes on during a Wii sports tourney

1. New Game

Nothing really beats a new game. Except maybe a new game which you didn't have to pay for. We all know what follows and that is the person who bought you the game complaining you are playing it too much.

There you have it this week's list. Is there things you enjoy about the Christmas Season which I didn't mention? Let me know. Give me some stories about it always love to hear them.

You Fail At Gamer Christmas Gifts If...

Fail Day, and the first one of December as well. So what better thing to talk about in December than Christmas right? Now if you are like me you dislike Christmas shopping in general not because you don't like to get people gifts, but I hate going to the stores when they are busy or just all around asking people what they actually want. So this inspired me for this week's Fail Day.

You Fail At Gamer Christmas Gifts If...

  • You bought a game for the wrong system
  • You will be mad if they want to play the game all day once you get it for them
  • You give the advice of getting Call of Duty
  • You think wrapping it matters
  • You got an Origin Gift Card instead of Steam
  • You you listed to the employee who says everyone is in to SWTOR
  • You didn't get them anything gaming related
  • You picked up a headset without a mic
  • You bought the Kinect because it was on clearance
  • You figured facebook credits were a good idea
  • You bought a strategy guide for a game they don't play
  • You were so excited about the wireless mouse you picked up

and finally

  • You ever thought about picking up an XBOX One

There it is this week's edition of fail. Hope you all enjoyed it and maybe you might just have an easier time shopping!

Warlords of Draenor 8 Bit

Now I am always a fan of going back and playing things which remind me of the old school style of gaming but it isn't too often when you take something current and make it old school. Now this isn't truly 8-bit but I still think it gets the point across and gives you the feel of something old. So grats to Ian Beckman for doing this.

Now excuse me while I go find my NES and put on my power glove

Ask Gauss

Sunday! Also the last day of November so you really have to start think about Christmas fast approaching. There has been more questions sent in this week then I ever remember not sure why exactly, but I think it has something to do with the insane amount of great games out currently. So why don't we just get right to it.

Are you interested in the Game of Thrones game?

Why yes! I am actually a huge Game of Thrones fan, which probably doesn't surprise any of you since I enjoy the fantasy style of game so much. I am also a huge fan of the Walking Dead game series and I really think Telltale will do the series justice. I also like how it will go well and blend in nicely with the show. So parts that the show can not get into in the 10 episodes the game will have some extras just for that. I think this also makes perfect sense in the episode style that the Telltale has really made their own. So in my eyes cannot come out soon enough.

Do you find they are killing too many people off in Warlords?

Truthfully? No. Remember some of the characters they have killed off have good reason too. I won't go into specifics as to not be spoilerish but if you have seen them die then you know what I mean. Also you have to think of having double characters in both timelines. There is minimal doubles in existence and really off the top of my head only 1 "true" double comes to mind. At this moment as I have said before there is nothing bad I have to say about Warlords. It really is odd as I always find things to complain about.

Why didn't you do a not my turkey day post?

Well I wasn't trying to raid on Thursday didn't really apply,

There you have it questions all answered for the week. Thanks to everyone who sent something in I will try my best to get to all of them in a reasonable amount of time. Enjoy the remainder of your weekend!

Whose Fault?

Friday! All this weke veryone has been asking me or telling me their opinions on the whole Garrosh thing. Now this is a Reader Post, but keep in mind there are spoilers ahead so you really should stop reading if you are worried about Nagrand being spoiled. With all of that taken care of here is Wolf's thoughts on Garrosh and Thrall.

I see people blaming this on both Garrosh and Thrall, but, why don't we look at all the facts? Garrosh became Thrall's close friend when they met in Nagrand and Thrall was like a father to him, since Grom was never around. Then, when Thrall left to save the world he left Garrosh in charge, even though Garrosh thought he'd be terrible, Thrall had faith in him. Then, shit went down. Innocent druids were murdered by Twilight's Hammer orcs, and Cairne, who had no idea it was the TH, challenged Garrosh, who thought he was simply disagreeing with how he was leading the Horde. And, well I think we know what happened there. Sylvannas completely ignored Garrosh's orders not to use the plague on Gilneans, which made him seem even worse of a leader. Vol'Jin then turned on Garrosh after things got really bad, even after Thrall, who didn't come back even after everyone told him he made a terrible decision making Garrosh warchief, promised he would help him.

Now, here's my theory, Thrall was never given the full story. Think about it, Sylvannas was using an outlawed weapon, despite DIRECT orders from the warchief not to do so. Vol'Jin insulted the Hellscream family, with both Grom and Garrosh being very close friends to Thrall, Baine's father was killed dishonorably, even though he knew Garrosh was not to blame, he most likely had some sort of disdain for him. Do you think they would tell the full story? That they would openly tell Thrall that they had such hate and disrespect for Hellscream? No, they needed a scapegoat because the Horde was falling apart, and a new warchief was the perfect choice.

My theory is that Thrall simply believed that Garrosh needed some more time adjusting to the new position, hence why he didn't come back until after his wedding on Hyjal (And yes, I realize there's some blame on him for taking the time to do this but, considering he just saved the world I think the last thing he wanted to deal with was politics). That the leaders of the Horde pinned their poor decisions on Garrosh, and Thrall was never told the truth, hence him saying "You failed the Horde" and "You chose your own destiny." So, Thrall didn't fail Garrosh or the Horde, and Garrosh didn't fail Thrall or the Horde, the Horde failed Thrall and Garrosh.

Once again thank you to everyone who send something in. I always enjoy reading the submissions, and as you know none of this would be possible without them. Lastly if you haven't seen it, and want to see what it is all about here it is.

Have a good weekend.

The Legacy Of Garrosh Hellscream

First of all I just want to say there will be massive spoilers in this post so if you have not played through Nagrand in Warlords or don't want to know anything about it just stop reading now. I don't want to deal with complaints so again stop reading.

Now since we got that out of the way. All I have to say is damn. Did that happen? Now I don't want to talk about if Thrall cheated or whatever I really want to deal with the line Garrosh says just before Garrosh was grounded...

"You made me what I am"

Now all through when I was reading War Crimes I was thinking the same thing. How much of all this is Garrosh's fault? Just have to look at what he said earlier in the battle to realized exactly what has been going on in Garrosh's head this whole time.

"You made me warchief! You left me to pick up your pieces! You failed me!"

I actually sympathize with Garrosh here. Not that he didn't get what was coming to him, but he actually knew he was not fit for the job of Warchief. He even told Thrall that it was bad idea. He knew no one would respect the choice after all Garrosh is what he is a great warrior. He he had Thrall by his side look what was accomplished. The success in Northrend speaks volumes.Yes he did have great moments by himself before all the people Thrall promised would be there turned there backs on him. He was left really only trusting Orcs and that really is what caused him to go down the path he was on.

I will miss him. I always thought he was a great character and appreciate the time Blizzard put into developing him into what he was. Just wish it didn't have to end the way it did.

They Were Friends And Colleagues, And They Were Idiots

So after my post yesterday about Heroes of the Storm i was asked what champions I would like to see be a part of Heroes of the Storm even which are not yet there. Instead of throwing that into a question to ask on Ask Gauss for the week I thought I would take care of that in this week's list.

5. Artanis

Besides Tassadar and Zeratul there isn't another Protoss who comes to mind is there? He is not the stealthy Zeratul or the support of Tassadar. So he isn't similar and different enough to have people engaged and wanting to play him.

4. Deckard Cain

I know everyone wants this in some way or another. I am not sure how it would work other than a specialist in some way, but Blizzard really needs to make it happen. Give us the man who screams Diablo

3. Amon

I am pretty sure this is almost a sure thing once Legacy of the Void comes out but I will say it anyway. Without even knowing too much about him or what he can do there still is plenty of reason to be excited is there not?

2. Rexxar

There currently is no one like Rexxar in game and really I am quite surprised he has yet to make an appearence. Would be not only fun to have his melee abilities but also having Misha by your side is always a plus.

1. Medivh

I know they are adding Jaina which is the mage you may all think Medivh would be but he is no ordinary mage. He is after all the last guardian where as Jaina really is a "frost" mage really he could be something completely different.

There they are! What do you think? Have an opinion? as always let me know one way or another.

You Fail At Heroes Of The Storm If...

Fail Day! Yes it is Tuesday and yes that is a Heroes of the Storm icon. If you weren't around when I said I did finally get into the Alpha and I must say I am enjoying it. Not that I ever thought I wouldn't I just was beginning to think I wouldn't get a shot at it before Open Beta came around. With all of that in mind I did promise once I got in I would do a fail day for it. So here we are better late then never.

You Fail At Heroes of the Storm If...

  • You have no clue where the heroes from the game are coming from
  • You try to do your own thing during games
  • You don't turn in your coins and then die
  • You waste all your mana killing minions
  • You queue for a versus with a hero you have at level 1
  • You queue for versus with a hero you have never played before
  • You die to turrets
  • Whenever you are killed it is because such and such is OP and my hero sucks
  • You would rather die then hearth
  • You don't use your mount
  • You are the victim of first blood
  • You haven't /danced
  • You haven't purchased a specialist with gold or otherwise
  • You aren't excited since the Lost Vikings announcement
  • You don't get pumped up by the music

and finally

  • The entire you talk about this is not like LoL
There you have it this week's edition of Fail. Hope you all enjoy it, and good luck to all of those still waiting to get their hands on everything to test it out.

Just Warlord Things

Here we are on Monday the last week of November before the Christmas Season takes full on hold on everything we say and do. Even if you want it to be true or not it is going to happen. With that in mind everyone is going to be enjoying the simple things. Now I don't normally showcase gaming companies own videos, but I felt this one released by Blizzard has the perfectly feel for this week. About enjoying the simple things and just doing what we do. So sit back and enjoy Just Warlord Things

Now you can get on with your Monday

Ask Gauss

Here we are the end of the weekend is coming and we can all be glad we don't live in Buffalo. Unless you do live in Buffalo then I am sorry. All kidding aside it is Sunday and we have some questions to answer so let's get right to it.

So WoW is back to over 10 Million subscribers, what do you think?

Well it might even be closer to 11 since I believe that was done on the 13 and it didn't launch in Asia the same day. I could be wrong though. Regardless jumping 3 million subs for the expansion is quite amazing. Now from playing the expansion and how well it has been put together I am not surprised. It has been a great experience thus far and it has that sort of comeback feeling to the older Warcraft fan that they just have to see what is going on. Now I am interested to see in how it holds the numbers, but only time will tell with that.

Did you hear Unity has been denounced in France?

Now if you are talking about a certain article. Which you can read by clicking here. It is far from being denounced by an entire country. It was one person who does have some issues about the way certain people within the revolution are portrayed in the game. Like any game people can have their opinion but from playing the actual game and reading his comments I tend to think he really didn't play the game and is just reacting in some way to get some sort of publicity. Maybe I am wrong though and if I am be sure to let me know.

How is Inquisition?

Great so far. Will be more on it to come from me for sure though!

There they are the questions for the week. Thanks to everyone who sent something in as always this would not be possible without all of you taking part in it. Keep sending those questions in and answered on here or not I will get to them. Enjoy what is left of your weekend!

There Is Still No Flying In Draenor

So I know I have talked about this before but I never really allowed a Reader Post on the subject. I have always thought during the leveling process you see more of the world created when flying isn't a factor. When you can enjoy the environments and just be part of everything. When flying is involved because of the speed at which you can travel leveling becomes so much more about efficiency, So with all of that in mind here is this week's post submitted by Rawri

Recently I read a forum post regarding the touchy subject of flying vs no flying in Draenor. The poster was pro flight. Their argument is that it amounts to taking away the choice of flight for pro-flight players the way things are, where if flight were allowed, everyone would have a choice. While this is true, as an anti flight proponent, let me say I don't want flight to be a choice. It's not because I would feel forced to fly to remain competitive if given the option. It's because I play on a pvp server. Imagine flying mounts inside a bg. Not a pretty sight right? It would in fact, ruin the content. Not just trivialize, but ruin it. I'm not the best at pvp. And I've been ganked by better players who surpassed me with better skill, gear, or a situational advantage. But I still like that the combat happens, even if I lose, I learn a little. Typical world pvp encounters usually begin and end with flying mounts anymore. One player, in flight, is able to scope out their opponents completely before deciding if they want to engage. Everyone is a rogue, everyone can choose their fights. If you no longer want to fight, it's pretty easy to get away. Ever been right at the end of a challenging battle, only to find yourself ganked? Yes you have, assuming you play on a pvp server. Did you want revenge? Did you know you could pay them back if you got the chance? How many times have you gotten that chance after the addition of flying mounts? It's like being punched in the mouth and then being told your assailant has called time out.

My example has been largely pvp centric. But what I'm getting at is consequence, and interaction between players, and interacting with their environment isn't nearly as good as it was before it was introduced. Up until now that is. Warlords put some more war back into warcraft, and part of that comes from removing those flying mounts. When would I like to see flying in Draenor? maybe the final major content patch, or after the next expansion.

And with that enjoy your weekend!

Gamer Problems

Right now I am having some a a slight problem gaming wise. I can't remember the last time I had some many games all new that I just want to play. Sure there is times when one game is out and then another the next week, but right now is something else entirely. Now I know most of you will say well you can just play them all at once. I could do that, but that is not really my style. When I get a game I always want to play it want to experience it and want it really be the game I am into at that moment.

I think everyone is that way. You have the game you open it you look at the book you will probably never look at again while something is installing or loading and wondering who in the hell ever reads this book. Then you come to the conclusion that they are only ever read in this exact moment you are reading it.

Having that is just part of the gaming experience it is what makes it what it is. There really is nothing like a new game, and really only gamers understand when you say there is nothing like it. Getting multiple games at one time makes things confusing. There is overlap and insanity ensues and you really are overwhelmed and have no idea what to do.

Right now I have Warlords, Assassin's Creed Unity, Heroes of the Storm, FarCry 4, and Dragon Age Inquisition all wanting their piece of the pie. I have actually sat there during a time I set aside for gaming doing nothing because I have no clue what I should be doing. It really is madness to the next level.

I know I should just pick one stick with it till it is completed then go from there. Then keep a rotation going, and this will probably eventually happen, but it doesn't make this time any easier. Gamer problems how horrible.

Did You Think We Had Forgotten?

Wednesday! Yes here we are in the middle of the week wondering what it is we will be doing. Or maybe not. Now I as many of you know have been playing the new Warcraft Expansion Warlords of Draenor. I have been taking my time leveling and enjoying the story. With that I noticed it has become much more of a "thing" to have in game cinematics. Something which started back in Wrath. Now it is something I have always enjoyed and this expansion so far is no different. So I thought for today's list I would rank my top 5. Now I wouldsay be careful as there are 2 of them from the WoD thus far. So slight spoilers.

5. Ga'nar's Sacrifice

The opening Horde zone Frostridge has an epic finale. I don't want to say too much about it other than the fact that when you see it you will really understand why it would make the list.

4. Arthas' Death

I remember this loading the first time after defeating the Lich King. Still gives me chills and really put a great end to the Arthas story and let us really know what the Lich King means to the rest of Azeroth

3. Fight For Shattrath

Again don't want to say too much beside. Holy crap this was amazing! I have been searching for a place to re-watch it. Really if you have seen this you completely understand if you haven't well you are in for quite a treat.

2. Mists of Pandaria Ending Horde

I have gone over this right when I saw it. This is the point when Vol'jin is named Warchief of the Horde and how could you not get dem feels and be pumped up at the same time. Extremely well done and you feel fulfilled when it is completed

1. Wrathgate

What can I say? Th first was the best wasn't it? You have to kill it to really come close to something as epic as this one.

There you have it the list all done for this week. What do you think? As always let me know!

Ask Gauss

Sunday! Yes it is here and that means the weekend is almost over. It has been a crazy week so far hasn't it? If you were like me you did a lot of gaming the past week and actually had a pretty damn good time with it. With that in mind seems like the perfect opportunity to do today's duty and answer some questions.

Did you stay up for the Warlords launch?

You know originally I didn't have plans to do so, then but I thought why not. I was glad I did also. Now I didn't go completely sleep deprived but I did plan for 5 hours into the morning when I might have actually been getting up. There was a lot of others there too, but I really like how the starting zone was designed and really gave you the sense that everyone wasn't massed together. Besides the point where the garrison quest was glitched for about an hour everything was smooth. So as far as day 1s go it was a pretty good day.

Are you not doing an Assassin's Creed Unity Review?

I am this week has just been so busy with Assassin's Creed and Warlords releasing I wanted to get content for both of them out. No worries I will post as per the normal the non spoiler review first and let you exactly know what I am thinking about the game. As a quick review I really like the game and the story is progressing nicely, but I am near the start and just doing the collections as first as I like to get that out of the way and enjoy the story in bunches.

Funny how you get into Heroes of the Storm when you have other things to play.

You know I was thinking this exactly.

There you have it questions all answered for the week. Hope your gaming week was as good as my own. Enjoy what is left of your weekend everyone!

What Is In A Review

Here we are on Friday and a Reader Post to go with it. I know all of you are either playing Assassin's Creed Unity or Rogue, or Warlords of Draenor. So I will make this right to the point. So far if you haven't seen Unity hasn't got the best reviews and really I don't understand why since so far I think the game is great and everything I expected it to be. This is the same idea from Fatalfeit the writer of this week's Reader Post. Have a look!

Okay, so after locking Rogue within a metal case and giving the key to my older brother, I was able to finally sit down and play about 5-6 more hours of Unity (joking, of course).

All I can say is, wow. ...What a game. Like, what a DAMN GOOD SEQUEL. I know I've said it in a few others threads, but those were only my first impressions. This time I truly mean it.

What the hell happened with the reviews? Why are they so poor? Were they extremely fatigued on the franchise? Do these people even know what Assassin's Creed is? I know what's a good Assassin's Creed and that's mother-flipping Unity. It's probably the best Assassin's Creed yet, I'm serious. Everything have been improved (except, maybe not the story in comparison to the last few games). The story and characters are good, the gameplay is fantastic, and the graphics are great. Stealth, navigation, and combat are the best they've ever been!

The only real complaint I have are the glitches and performance. But put those aside and Unity is the sequel we've all been waiting for. I mean, how the hell does an Assassin's Creed game like Unity get such poor reception? Especially from Kotaku. It's ridiculous!

And this isn't coming from personal bias, I wasn't looking forward to Unity. You all know my eyes were dead set on Rogue.

For me, Unity takes the top spot of the franchise. This game is the definitive Assassin's Creed experience. Good job, Alex Amancio. I always knew you could deliver the best Assassin's Creed. Now all Ubisoft has to do is pair you up with Darby McDevitt. The reviewers can suck it.

Couldn't have said it better myself! Happy gaming today with whatever you may be up to.

Happy Leveling

Well for those of you who don't know Warlords of Draenor launched today. As you are reading this I am in all likelihood leveling up or taking a nap in preparation for more leveling. I have always enjoyed leveling up in each expansion in a multitude of ways. All of them have had there own unique moments, which I will always tell anyone when looking back on specific times throughout WoWs history. I will though on this day share my favourite day 1 story with all of you.

It was Cataclysm launch day. This was the first launch day which the launch time was 3am for those of us in the eastern time zone. I of course planned to stay up and get ahead of the leveling curve. I was leveling up with Safiree and we started in Hyjal. This was her first "real" expansion leveling experience, and I say that because the way I level on day 1 is probably not the norm, Sure I love to enjoy the zone and want to know the quests and the questlines, but I am still in go go go mode.

We are going through the zone fine getting ahead of everyone when I believe it was around 7am and Safiree asked me if when were going to sleep. I said "no" we have to keep leveling when she assumed I was joking. This went on for about an hour and she was asking me what seemed every 5 minutes and she got to the point where she couldn't actually continue and her was walking into trees and flying into cliffs. Yes this was actually happening. It was quite amusing to me not so much to her. I told her she could sleep for a couple hours and then we would get back to it.

She did end up sleeping for about 4 hours until the "leveling nazi" made her come to and level some more. I know she appreciated my craziness in the long run and it caused the day itself to be full of some amazingly hilarious moments which I will always remember. Silly deaths due to exhaustion or being in a frame of mind where you were actually unable to read the quests. Even the moment when my Shadowmourne was replaced.

This was the only time I level day 1 in a party and sure it might have been slightly lower because sometimes slackers have to sleep, but it was pretty awesome as well. So I would say no matter how you choose to level enjoy it in your own way and make sure it is something you can remember and tell stories about later on.

Maybe You Will Answer All The Questions I Have Asked

So with Assassin's Creed Unity coming out yesterday I figured it would make perfect sense to do this week's list with an Assassin's Creed them. I know right? What could it be though? Well why not make it pretty simple and jsut do my favourite Assassin's Creed moments from throughout the series. And here we go!

5. Altair vs Al Mualim - Assassin's Creed

When you play a series you never forget those moments which got you to love the series in the first place. If it wasn't for this fight at the end I don't think I would have kept playing this series

4. Blackbeards Death - Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag

Black Flag was a great game. When thinking about it there wasn't that many huge moments like other games that stood out so much more than others. Blackbeard's death though was one such moment which did happen though. You were sad and man tears were shed.

3. Connor Kills Haytham - Assassin's Creed III

The moment you knew was going to happen through the entire game once you started playing as Connor. Even so this moment was sad and then not nearly as satisfying as killing of any other Templar. You felt with Haytham. Everything he said you wanted to know and believe you wasn't like the rest of them.

2. Ezio's Speech - Assassin's Creed II

I have mentioned this moment in Assassin's Creed history many times. So many times you all are probably sick of hearing about it. The speech not only rings true in everything we say and do, but it is so well presented that it just makes you nod in agreement.

1. Revelation - Assassin's Creed Revelations

Whoever wrote this part to the game really deserves some sort on an award. It was the connection of distant past, to past to the present and was done so magnificently. I have watched the ending to this game more times then I can remember and every time it doesn't get any less amazing. This is the reason to this day this is in my mind the best Assassin's Creed game.

There they are my favourite Assassin's Creed moments. Are any of these yours? Or do you think there are some others which deserve a mention? As always tell me one way or another.

Ask Gauss

Sunday! And the day after Blizzcon. Did you tune into anything? Really was a great show as always. I am always amazed at not only how much the fans go all out, but how the creators embrace it all. Really is something special. Even with all of that though we have some questions to answer so we really should get to that.

What did you think of the Blizzcon opening ceremony?

By far and away the best opening ceremony they have ever done they included all of their games and gave them each their time in the spotlight. Even with it being should a huge year for Warcraft and Warlords coming out this week they didn't let that take away from anything else. With all that then announcing a new game, which was expected, but when I saw everything for it not really anything that I expect. I am still wowed and in shock with everything that transpired.

What reveal this year was the best in your opinion?

Now I lvoed seeing them finally say that Legacy of the void will be on its way. I thought that would be the announcement of the weekend. That was until Overwatch made its entrance and then how can you argue about that. Metzen saying how long it has been since Blizzard has created a new world really jsut is something special. Myself not really even being a shooter fan thought the game looked interesting and enough so that I signed up for the beta pretty much instantly.

Did I see you playing Heroes of the Storm the other day?

Yes I was. Finally got into the alph

There you have it this week's questions all answered. Hope you all got something out of them and hope you all enjoyed Blizzcon as much as I did. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
