A Thief's Journey

Monday, yes your week is off and away and you just aren't ready for it at all. You are still wondering where the weekend went and probably will be till at least Wednesday when you then will switch your hope till the next weekend. So while that is all going through your head watch this week's showcase video from White24Room which is probably the best Uncharted tribute I have seen. There is a few clips from Uncharted 4, but nothing super spoilerish so sit back and enjoy the distraction.

Wasn't I right?

Great The Power's Out, A Girl's Trapped

So here we are another Wednesday another middle to the week. We are also enjoying the second day of the Uncharted 4 release and many of us playing or yet to play and haven't savagely completed the entire story are wondering what will happen. So I put together a list on the things I am wondering about. So here goes.

5. Will I Have To Throw Grenades While Hanging

Everyone's favourite Uncharted thing to do. With the except of Drake mindlessly jumping to his death for no reason. Oh how I look forward to this each and every time.

4. What Is The Deal With His Brother

So Drake was an orphan who met with Sully and had this whole thief type life going for him. Now we were never introduced to this brother or knew anything about him. So yes, let's know more.

3. What Impossible Action Sequence Will Take Place

So we have done this next to impossible seado chase, rode a moving train while killing everything, fought a tank, caused a ship to sink and some how got out alive, climbed back into plane using it's cargo then survived the crash, and hopped from horses to cars and back again some how. Yes and that isn't even all of them.

2. Will All Of The Main Cast Survive

This is something everyone wants to know, and is pretty self explanatory.

1. Will There Be "Zombies"?

Well will there be?

There they are my top 5 things I want to get answered in Uncharted 4 in this week's list. Did I miss any? Let me know in one way or another.

Rally Ho

Happy Wednesday everyone. Here I was just sitting around thinking what the list would be about this week when I remembered how fun town and cities in games can be. Now there is different types of towns there are the ones which are always fun to visit or there are the ones which are iconic. This week going to with the ones which are just always fun to visit. So let's see the choices.

5. Tibetan Village - Uncharted 2

So before it comes under siege and actually even after this tiny village up in the Himalayan mountains is just a great place to walk around and feel at home. The people although you have no idea what they are saying love to chat and spend some time with.

4. Goron City - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

So this little town is full of bomb loving adorable Gorons. How could anyone not love this place? It may have been some time since I may have visited the city but that doesn't mean I can't remember it like yesterday

3. Dalaran - World of Warcraft

So there are many amazing cities in WoW, but none of them are as fun or have as many things to do as Dalaran. I really wish there was more cities like this in Azeroth and beyond, but then Dalaran wouldn't feel the same.

2. SimCity -SimCity

This is probably cheating, but your city can be whatever it is you want it to be. It can even be a nuclear wasteland if you so choose. Anything possible you can make it.

1. Conde Petie - Final Fantasy IX

Rally-Ho! There are tons of things that just makes you smile and laugh. That being the names of the townsfolk or the way they it is just fun to read the text and you wish it would be remade so it could be voice acted. There is just way too much to love about this tiny little town.

There you have it this week's list. What do you think are the most fun places to visit in gaming? As always let me know one way or another.

Survival is Overrated

So here we are on yet another Wednesday preparing ourselves for this week's list. Now I had quite a few ideas this week but I was randomly running around in Assassin's Creed and thought about rooftops. I know it is weird isn't it. Now for this list I wanted to think of the best rooftop levels in games. Not games where it is just part of the main story. So funny how that stipulation really eliminated Assassin's Creed from the whole list that it inspired but hey it happens. So here are my choices for the best Rooftop levels.

5. Level 5 - Plants vs Zombies

Everyone has heard of this game, but maybe not everyone has made it this far. If you have you know the fun and rage which can happen during this lovely stage.

4. At the Heliport - Double Dragon II

There are many NES games which have great rooftop levels but I don't think anyone did it better than this. Not only was it challenging jumping around but the proximity of enemies and the final boss of the stage just gave you a sense of accomplishment.

3. Desperate Times- Uncharted 2

So Drake gets himself into trouble more than most people. This level is no different as you are taking ziplines and jumping and climbing buildings all over Nepal all while trying to avoid the helicopter trying to kill you.

2. Rooftop Run - Sonic Generations

Now a modern take on an older Sonic level not only brought out the nostalgia but also brought in some new and amazing 3D elements that makes this level just missing the top spot. If you have never played a Sonic game and want to try one level this is the one that screams everything about the series.

1. The Edge - Mirror's Edge

So even with how amazing the Rooftop run is this level in basically the book on how to make the best rooftop level around. Anyone who has ever had the opportunity to play this game I am sure would agree 100% that it really has no real competitor.

There it is this week's list. Agree? As always tell me me what you think right or wrong and argue with one another.

Endure and Survive

So last week for the list I went over what I thought were the best movie or television to game conversions. When I was making that last it really got me thinking. You know now there are quite a few games to movie conversions some of them good and some of them not. So if I could pick any game and make it into a movie what would I choose? This sounds a lot easier than I thought when I started to make a list. I had about 30 games which I would love to see made into a movie. I did though lower the amount to my trademark five. So here is the list I came up with. Also there may or may not be spoilers but the games are old enough it shouldn't matter

5. Heavy Rain

The story of Heavy Rain plays out so well and leaves you guessing. It makes you feel for Ethan every step of the way. You want him to find his son no matter the cost. Now if that doesn't scream Hollywood blockbuster don't know what does.

4. Uncharted 2

This game isn't on my short list of greatest games only because of the ganeplay. The story is beautifully done and action packed from start to finish. It has everything a movie could ever want to keep you on the edge of your seat. Unless of course you actually played the game. I have heard they are thinking of making an Uncharted movie so we may actually get to see it one day.

3. Warcraft: Arthas' Story

There are many stories in the Warcraft universe but I don't think any would convert to film as well as Arthas' story would. From beginning to end it is a story of joy and sadness. A story you cannot help but watch and be drawn to till the very end, and isn't that what a movie is supposed to be?

2. Final Fantasy VIII

There have been 14 different stories created with the name Final Fantasy. So how do I come to choosing this one. Well it isn't the best game and I also don't think it the best overall story, but what I do believe it is the best which would translate into a movie. There are love stories in games as there are movies and I believe you would be hard pressed to find many which have a better one then this game.

1. The Last of Us

The greatest game in my books has the story to back it up. The time everyone fears when you are not only afraid of infection but what others will do to survive. A story of a journey and a struggle to save the world. Truly a masterpiece and which could also make one of the greatest movies ever made.

There it is list all put together. Like I said this was a lot tougher than it seemed and I left off a few games I thought were sure things when I first started writing them down. So what do you all think do you have some you would like to see?

Hadouken

So I woke up this morning and really couldn't believe it was already the middle of the week. Really just seemed like the weekend was still around and I was complaining about losing an hour of sleep. Really did just sneak right up on me. Now I am babbling, but  it is Wednesday and Wednesday means it is time I put together a list. Now what list do I have in store this week? Well it is simple really. There are games out there that we all know and love and sometimes those games have a sequels sometimes they are awful and then their are those games which are just part of a special breed. Here is my list for those.

5. Starcraft II

Now Starcraft and Starcraft Brood war were amazing games, which I probably put way more time into then I care to admit. Not only did they have a great competitive scene but the story involved in them was something never seen in an RTS game. Starcraft II though has changed gaming. Sure the Esports scene was around before Starcraft II, but it has grew bigger then anyone could have ever predicted because of Starcraft II. Not only that this game made watching streams really be a thing. It has forever changed the way gaming is.

4. Super Mario Bros 3

Now this game holds a special place in my heart. I could tell you ever secret every warp tube or anything else you can possibly think of. Out of any game involving the plumbers to me it is always compared to the fun I had with this game. I still enjoy laying it and that is saying something. Maybe it is childhood nostalgia but this game is epic.

3. Diablo II

Now Diablo wasa good game. I wouldn't say it was a great or amazing game but it was a good game. It really was the birth of the ARPG genre we know today. Diablo II though is the reason that genre is what it is today. Without this game there would be know God of War, Assassin's Creed, or Diablo III for that matter. This game is  still played today decades later . Now I often rip into people who complain about Diablo III, but it really has to do with how game changing this game was.

2. Super Street Fighter II Turbo

Of all the games which made me a gamer it was this one. Sure I played other games before this one, but this is one I practiced. I wanted and needed to be the best of my friends. Not only that but this game really is the reason for fighting games popularity. Sure there were others around but none were as out in the open as this was. Was in every arcade and anyone who was serious about gaming had it in their collection, and of course would complain about M Bison and Sagat being OP.

1. Uncharted 2

Uncharted 2 is not only one the best sequel ever made it is one of the best games in my eyes to ever be made. It has a story which keeps you engaged and would have best picture written all over it if it was a movie. Not only and the game was the right kind of difficult had perfect landscapes and sound. Truthfully if you have never had the pleasure of playing it you are missing out.

There you have it. Any thoughts? Been sure to let me know some way or another.

Never Forget Them

Wednesday middle of the week here we are. Now I get a lot of flack for some posts I do, but it is rarely an occasion I get some for one I didn't do. Last week it wasn't that people were upset with the list I chose to do. It was the fact I didn't do a couples focused list since Valentines was on Friday. So with that in mind I am going to please the masses this week. No I am not going to do my favourite couples because I don't think that would be to interesting or that surprising. I am going to do my favourite couples moments. So here we go

5. Stenier and Beatrix Defend Alexandria - Fina; Fantasy IX

You know there is a lot of talk which goes on and on about how Zidane and Garnet may be one of the best love stories in all of Final Fantasy. Now that may actually be true but this doesn't discount how this moment in Final Fantasy 9 is not only my favourite couples moment in the game, but one of my favourite there is. Anytime I am discussing anything to do with love stories or couples in games this always comes up and it will not be a change. Plus epic music during the whole thing!

4. My Pleasure Darling - Starcraft II Star of the Swarm

Starcraft is mostly known for its Esports endeavors but what some don't know is it has a great story as well. So much happened in this scene with so little words. You can't help watch it without having some feels. Also makes you extremely pumped for the next game.

3.Clowns - Uncharted 2

I know I talk about his moment all the time. It is just that good and how could I even have a couples list without having maybe my favourite video game couple in it. Also this is the ending to Uncharted 2 it's awesome.

2. Christina's Death - Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

This scene is just one of those WOW scenes in video games. I said before when I did my death list that nothing really even compared to this one. The impact it had on the character involved was massive. How different would it have been if she lived? The the line so simple but sticks with you requiescat in pace...my love

1. Yuna Runs Through Tidus - Final Fantasy X

There are moments and then there is this one. Now the others are great but this is just on such a larger scale and something which I believe made Final Fantasy X the success it was. This is the moment you talk about being the first time it ever happened. This is also the reason I am so looking forward to the HD remaster of this game.

What did you think? Happy, even if it was a  week late?

You Were At Least An Eight

Middle of the week already eh? Seems as if the week just started. If any of you are like me though something happened last Thursday that is still stuck in your mind and you are sitting back waiting with anticipation. That was when it was unveiled the Uncharted series will be heading to the PS4. The games I view as some of the greatest ever will have more chapters added to them. I cannot wait, and all we have is a little teaser trailer. With all of this in mind I thought would be a perfect idea for this week's list. I first wanted to do my favourite Drake quotes but I found myself unable to narrow them down to a number which would work for the list. I decided to list my favourite parts in the series thus far. If you have yet to play any of the Uncharted games not only are you missing out, but this post will contain spoilers so keep that in mind.

5. The Truck Chase

When I first played Uncharted I was unsure of what the series would actually be like. Sure it was supposed to be an action adventure game with some amazing visuals and it was all that from the moment I started playing. I fell in love with the series though when this scene happened. It was almost as if you were playing the part in a Jason Bourne movie. It was action packed and kept you on edge and this was only the first chase there would be many more to come.

4. Titanic 2.0

So when drake drew this up I am not sure what he was thinking. Board ship find person on ship, find out person not on ship, make angry pirates on ship mad, cause ship to sink, run through maze of sink ship as it goes to a 90 degree angle. This whole chapter was amazing and at times frustrating. Doorways burst open with water and turn into platforms you have to navigate through. Not only that but there are still raging pirates on the ship trying to kill you as it is going down. Truly one of my favourite gameplay sequences ever.

3. Village vs Tank

So this tank attacks this little Tibetan villiage and you have to stop it. So you have to run around the entire villiage looking for things to some how slow this thing down. The whole time not trying to get shot at by a tank and out running it. It was insane and not very life like, but what can I say it was awesome.

2. Uncharted 3 Ending

It is not very often games have endings that satisfy you 100%. Drake was an orphan who made his own family first because he had to then because it was the right thing to do. That and he realizes what truly is important in life. Look at that a happy ending and you learned something. This ending also makes it hard to believe how there could be a true Uncharted 4 but I will guess we will have to wait and see.

1. Uncharted 2 Ending

It has an epic fight sequence followed by an obstacle course which in truth has been one of the most enjoyable end game sequences to a game there has ever been. Not to mention what followed. The sad moment where Elena could be dead followed by the classic Drake moments to follow. He is what he is and that is qhat will always make his character so intriguing and enjoyable to play.

There you have it. This week's list. All you Uncharted fans make sure you let me know what you enjoyed and for those of you who have yet to play the games what are you waiting for? Like really?
