People And Their Entitlement

So those who didn't know, this was announced yesterday

With the continued popularity of the Dungeon Finder, many players have been asking for a way to group up with real-life friends who play on other realms to take on instances together. Today, we wanted to give you a heads up about a new feature currently in development that will allow players to invite Real ID friends of the same faction to a party regardless of the realm they play on, and then queue up for a 5-player regular or Heroic dungeon.

As this is a fairly complex service to develop, we don’t have a release date to share quite yet. It’s important to note that as with some of the other convenience- and connectivity-oriented features we offer, certain elements of the cross-realm Real ID party system will be premium-based, though only the player sending the invitations will need to have access to the premium service. We'll have more details to share with you as development progresses -- in the meantime, you may begin to see elements of the feature appear on the World of Warcraft PTR.

So people have been freaking out how Blizzard is all about the money making this a premium service and how it should be for everyone regardless, because they pay a subscription. Let me tell everyone who thinks this way they are way out of line. If you are on different servers regardless of if they are your friends or not you have no right based on the way the game is defined to play with those people. Let me state a fact, you are on different servers. I don't care if you have known them for years this doesn't change the fact that you didn't transfer your toon to their realm, you didn't reroll a toon on their realm, meaning you haven't thought for a second that those people were worth playing with to do so. So why all of the sudden when this is annouced you have been wanting to play with these friends for years without giving up anything? You want the best of both worlds. You want to be selfish and do your own thing and not make a commitment to change, but you also want to have access to a service for free because of your selfishness. This is what is wrong with the world. You think you are entitled to anything and everything because you pay for something else. This is like expecting a caesar salad with your meal instead of a regular one and refusing to pay the extra $0.50.

This is what makes me sick and disgusted with people. There is countless comments on forums everywhere complaining about how this is wrong of Blizzard, but frankly they are providing an extra service to a minimal amount of people, which will cost them money to put in place. This is the definition of something extra. This won't effect the game in anyway shape or form. People who pay for this are not going to have this insane advantage over everyone else. This isn't buying loot or boss kills so really everyone just shut the fuck up about this, and look at it for what it is. A Premium Service.
