So I am not sure you are all aware, but something is happening which could change the way the gaming world works and really make console wars a thing of the past. Microsoft made the announcement that they are releasing cross platform games between the XBOX One and Windows 10. Also in the same announcement they talked about Cross-Platform networks with other consoles. This would be something gamers for years have been asking for, and Sony responded with this.
"PlayStation has been supporting cross-platform play between PC on several software titles starting with Final Fantasy 11 on PS2 and PC back in 2002. We would be happy to have the conversation with any publishers or developers who are interested in cross-platform play."
So when reading this your thoughts are...Yes. So people would be able to enjoy the games they enjoy on the system they want, which are exclusive, but then not have to make the choice to also not play with their friends. This is something that gamers know all too well.
Now I want to stress Sony didn't come out directly say that them and Microsoft would be allowing cross platform play with Microsoft. They just said they were open to the idea. There are many things to consider especially the xbox live and PSN problem and how that will be worked out. We still though should rejoice as gamers because this is a step in the right direction.
