Epic Models

Now this isn't Machinima Monday, but it is just something I need to share with you all. I don't know if you have heard of Vaanel Models, but epic doesn't even seem like the right word to descibe them. Now I know Blizzard has a great team of artists, and maybe they don't have the time to create each indivdual model like he has here, but they really should take a page out of his book. He designs the models with direct connections to the desciptions given to him within lore. Here are a couple I think you will be quite amazed with

Broxigar

Hakkar The Houndmaster

Sargeras

Hope you enjoyed those as much as I have, and can appreciate the work that went into them.

The Queen Is Reworked

I understand this is a few days old, but since I made a topic about it being off, I only felt it right to make another when Blizzard corrected it. First off let me show you a complete before and after curiosity of MMO Champion.

As you can see her eyes have been changed to Golden as they should be. Her skin is a lot lighter and her hair is the platinum colour again as was described to us. Only thing I am not sure of is if her height is actually taller than the average elf. Since I have not been on the PTR nor play a Night Elf I cannot make this determination.

Now there has been many sides to why Blizzard did this. Some have been saying that it was the authors error when it was written in the War of the Ancients Trilogy. I don't by this for a second because Blizzard has always done a great job of making sure the details in the novels are what they should be.

The other theory is that models on the PTR are always a work in progress, and sometimes to get the content out for testing Blizzard puts in placeholder models or models that don't have all the fine details on them for when it goes live.

I actually believe this to be the case, because it has happened in the past quite a few times. For all those saying that no this is just Blizzard caving I am going to remind you all of Lore Marrowgar and his model journey on the PTR.
Model 1

Model 2
Model 3
As you can see he went through a lot of changes before his final product. One which was probably a placeholder and then some touch ups and recolourings. So am I happier with the new Queen Azshara model? Yes I am much happier than I was when it was first revealed, but who knows it still may have some other changes that will be added to it soon enough.

Wrathion, the Black Prince

“They wanted to hold me, to keep watch over me – a prisoner in all but name. But I will NOT be held accountable for the sins of my father. My destiny will be my own.”

So yesterday I was complaining how two models bothered me. How Azshara's model in my opinion was horribly designed and was missing some essential things within it. Well it only remains that I should praised Blizzard for a model that I think may be one of the best they have ever done. It is for none other than Wrathion, the Black Prince. If you are unfamiliar with the story he is the dragon that was within the purified black dragon egg from the quest in Badlands. He is also going to be the focal point of the rogue legendary questline. So with all that in mind take a look at his model.

You see I wasn't kidding at all. The best part of this screenshot? He is outside Ravenholdt manor the place of the elite society of rogues. If you have never been there it is a place with a feel of its own. Now with every great model and character there should be an epic story. From reading the preview I think Blizzard is doing just. They are going back with what it means to be a rogue. "Players will travel across continents to accomplish crucial missions of reconnaissance, burglary, infiltration and, of course, assassination." I am pretty jealous of rogues who get to be a part of this questline. The story of the egg and Rheastrasza's sacrifice is something which has always appealed to me. So congratulations rogues who are going to be a part of this epic adventure. I am sure I am not the only one who is a little jealous.

New Models

So for all of you who haven't seen MMO Champions' post about the new models that are comming to WoW in 4.2 you are in for an amazing treat. I am just going to share a few with you, but make sure you take a look at them all and see what we are in store for.

Horde PvP mounts most likely fro mthe rated battleground achievements. These look amazing. If you want to see the Alliance ones go to MMO Champion because I refuse to link anything Alliance.

Fandral's model, and I always thought a druid would look crappy in there gear. I guess the solution is to set them on fire.

Lord Anthrycist's lava form. Pretty amazing looking although I am a bit confused how you could fight a boss made of molten lava. Other than that it looks cool.
Umm ya... Getting Rudolph cuteness nightmares as we speak.

Walking form of Ragnaros has been revamped. Looks much more intimadating then the orignal and that is obviously a great thing.

So this is just a few of them make sure you go check them out especially if you think these models are pretty awesome looking

Female Worgens

Since Blizzcon people have been wondering what the female worgen model was going to look like. Since all the shots were of male worgens. We saw of course male and female goblins so why such the wait? It was obvious to me Blizzard was holding back for a reason. My guess was they wanted to get the "feral" look but as well as something that was I guess "not bad" or "pretty" to look at since of course it was female, and well alliance. Blizzard has this thing that all alliance races have to be "pretty". You could argue that that the Draenei are not, but I would argue otherwise. From the description of Draenei in every Warcraft novel they were "prettied" up. I am sure it was on purpose to make them more "playable" by the people who want to play toons that are "pretty". Did I really say "pretty" that many times.

Blood Elves aside who were overdone to the point of it is even being part of the jokes Blizzard has put in the game. The question should be "why is this so important to people?" This is a game of fiction and fantasy and is unneeded. All I can think of could it possibly increase the player base? Because people don't want to play a game where everything is "ugly" to look at? This of course could be done with architecture, and not the characters, but hey that is just my opinion.

Oh ya this post was supposed to be about Female worgens. I would just like to say I dislike the model for the very point stated above. It is too "pretty" for me. You be the judge.

That is it for today. Insert grandma's house joke here _____. Reminder that tomorrow is the last day to get in your quest likes and dislikes and of course the stories along with them.
