Hello everyone. Happy Saturday!! I had a great friday night. Spent it with family enjoying eachothers company. It got me thinking about a blog topic for today. Guilds. To some people it is just a group of people that associate and do what they need to do and that's it. For me when playing I wasn't one of those guild hoppers. I started playing World of Warcraft when I was 15. At first I didn't take it as serious. As far as talking to others I was very shy.

I was invited to a very well established guild and they very quickly turned the guild invite into a friendship between me and almost 200 other people. Over time there was a group of us maybe 10-15 we were very close. Personally. No matter what I was going through in the real world I had people online who were there for me not in person but in spirit. Unfortunately the leader suffered some major health problems and the guild fell apart. But those 10-15 people became my life long friends. And to this day we are all still very close.

 When I was guildless I didn't mind, but I felt like I didn't belong anywhere. Then when I met Gauss I joined his guild and immediately I felt like an outsider, but at least I had a home. Things were much different. More serious raiding and PVP. After a few months things settled in there own way. Made some temporary friends, and when that guild fell apart the only people I had were Gauss, Lyth, Khullkhum, and a small handful of great people. (Forgive me for misspelling your name Aaron ;). 

Point being, for some people the way you treat someone may or may not actually effect you in game and in the real world. Friendships that will carry on throughout your life. I know most people are shallow players who play to play and that is it. Nothing at all wrong with it. Though I do suggest why not welcome new friends and get the most from your games. (EXCLUDING THE 12 YEAR OLDS IN XBOX LIVE) 

When I talk to people I'm real. Its gotten me many great friends. I feel like experiencing those moments when taking down a boss with the same 25 people you have played with for hours everyday is a feeling that is an amazing spark of good in life. I would love to share all of our stories and I will, but I hope you take from this a new appreciation for those you game with often. Don't be shy :D

Cross Realm Raids What You All Think

So yes I realize it is Saturday and the Reader Post is supposed to be on Friday, and I would have really liked to get it up yesterday, but there was a problem. See I live in Canada and we get this stuff called snow quite often during the winter months and sometimes during these storms we lose power and sometimes even internet. Yes I know it is a horrible thing. So because of this I had to delay the post till today. So what is the Reader Post about this week? Well I wanted to know what all of you thought of the cross realm raids coming in 4.3.2. So let's see what you thought

I suppose it's a nice feature if two small guilds on different servers wanted to raid together. As long as sometime in the future it isn't just LFR. At least they're adding new features which is nice. I'm sure there must be some demand for it.

With battletags, and no need to share you real name/id, it will be interesting to see what kind of market is created with this. While it would be against the rules to trade money for such things I could see some trying to do it. Regardless though it will be interesting to see what type of groups are formed via third party sites. Imagine someone posting on the forums looking for 24 more people for Firelands and then everyone using the battletag system to get in a group with each other. To bad cross realm isn't cross region though that might add to many language problems to really be worth it. Great system to release with or around the battletag system.

This will solve a lot of issues with people who are on different servers (such as real life friends) and could even help out guilds who transfer servers but some people don't want to... They can stay on their server and still raid with the guild. Wonderful feature in my books!!!

Great addition, an in-game raid browser cross realm would make this perfect. For example once this releases i'd love to go back and do T11/T12 achievement runs but i don't know exactly anybody cross server to do it with even tho i'm sure they're out there.

This scares me. While Blizzard makes quite a capital from server transfers, if they ever decide to further extend this to current content, it would put the last nail in the coffin housing the rotting corpse of the mythological beast called Server Community. For what it is, it's fine and welcome and I'm sure I'd find myself using it soon enough. But I'm personally really disliking the direction this game has been heading ever since patch 3.2.

Ask Gauss

Sunday, the last day of the weekend time for us to all be disappointed that this is our last day to sleep in before it is back to all things normal tomorrow. Sunday also as always is going to be time for the Ask Gauss post. The post where I get to answer your questions right here. If you are unaware for some reason or another you can send in your questions by clicking on the link on the top right of the page or you can just email them to gaussafication@gmail.com. So time to get to it.

So I understand the concept of nerfing content when new content is released, but before? What is your opinion on this?

Well I actually think they are jumping the gun way too soon on this 4.3 is not even on the PTR. From a progression point I don't think it matters because at this point the races for world firsts are over. The race for the achievements is over. So in regards to progression this means nothing besides people that haven't been able to down bosses are now able to. This is I think is the point of it, but by nerfing the content this early I think this will create bad habits for those who have beaten it, which is the last thing you want before a new tier is created. You want your raiders to be on the top of their game not standing in things, or moving too slow. So this is why I am against it, and I think it will be a serious problem.

What are your opinions on the already released previews of the tier 13?

I really like them actually. The Warrior tier is the first tier I really like this expansion. The others were not awful they just were on the ok to good range. This new one is on the epic scale. One that I think in the future people will chose to transmog back to, which in Blizzard's mind and the artists should be a plus. I think the Shaman is probably the best looking shaman tier that there ever has been. I love the look and feel of it and the small details just make the set. It looks even more amazing when you see it next to the previous tiers. Whomever were the artists who designed it I think should be commended.

Do you think Diablo's concept of account gold will ever happen in WoW?

Sadly I think no, but let's run with this.

Magatha

There was a very interesting breakfast topic over on WoW.com today talking about questlines that you feel are unfinished and want to find a solution to them. Being a Tauren the Magatha storyline is something that is extremely important. This is the person responsible for the murder of our beloved Carine. If you haven't done the Thousand Needles zone I will warn you now that there are spoilers in this post. You see in the zone you rescue Magatha who appears to have been captured by the Twilights Hammer. You free her because you don't want the Twilights Hammer to use her as an asset in their vile and corrupted ways. The problem is you are played. You "free" Magatha and give recover artifacts which are powerful enough to give Magatha a tremendous amount of power. It is revealed that she is in fact in charge of the Twilight's Hammer in Thousand Needles. It just ends though. What have you created? A raid boss perhaps? Will we see our first ever Tauren Raid boss and will it be Magatha Grimtotem? It is something that I actually hope happens. I will take pride is defeating this Tauren that tried to ruin everything that Cairne tried to accomplish. She will pay and I hope it is soon.

Why Are You Late Again?

So as a guild and raid leader I have heard some wonderful excuses of why people were late or why someone couldn't attend at all. I am not saying they were all lying, but I am probably sure some of them were. So what I wanted people to tell me this week was reasons or excuse you have heard or gave for being late for a raid. So here they are

My girlfriend was going into labour, but I am hardcore I dropped her off at the hospital so I can come home to raid. She will be there long after the raid is over I can catch up with her then.

My friend was robbed I had to go help him see what was missing

I got dragged to a Celine Dion concert. Now I realize telling you this will get me laughed at, but I want you to feel my pain.

My honey do list wasn't finished.

I am not late I am on time with style.

I am on time if you forget what time zone we raid in.

My house was on fire. No really it was.

I'll be the first to admit I should never have Thai food again. The second person is the one who has to clean the bathroom.

I tried to time it so I would sleep through trash. Did I sleep long enough or should I go back to sleep?

The repair man was giving me the eye I didn't feel comfortable turning my back to him at any moment.

I found out it is actually hard to break into my house. I don't know if I should be happy or sad about this at the moment.

My neighbour changed his WiFi password I needed to figure out what it was.

Mom needed me to do the dishes. Apparently she wasn't kidding when she said I hadn't done them for a week.

Getting rid of the bodies took longer than expected.

My dealer was trying to rip me off had to set him straight.

Pickle tickle time is few and far between have to take it when I can get it.

So those were all the ones I could post without getting a stupid amount of hate mail. Enjoy your Easter weekend.
