- Blizzard's main argument was they didn't want people to have to go through the entire process more than once. Well we have bind on account gear and chants now so why not attunements? It cannot be that difficult to work that in.
- Secondly they said the ability to get into groups for the requirements was at times very difficult. Welcome the new Looking for Group system. People are running things endlessly.
- This way people can still get the last tier gear very easily like Blizzard wants. Also they will be able to do the new content more easily. But adding the attunement would make sure the person is at least not that special kind of stupid.
Think about it at the moment. What do we have to check peoples level of play? We have achievements and gear score. Gear score we all know can be faked since you can gear up a toon extremely quickly if you are willing to do heroics. Achievements are a good measure but not if the character is a reroll. Blizzard always says bring the player and not the toon. So having an account wide attunement would show that this particular person has put the time and effort in. Basically proving they are not an idiot and know how to play.
I really doubt Blizzard would do something like this but honestly it is something to think about. Tell me what you all think.
not a bad idea
ReplyDeleteIt is simple attunements are a pain but they force you to work to enter the content. I agree with what you are saying, but bliz now wants everyone to get to do everything. I don't see them coming back.
ReplyDelete-Boggle
It's a great idea but Blizzard will never go for it.
ReplyDeleteThe idea to have account wide attunements is a brilliant idea but I'm sure Blizz would come up with some reason not to do it.
ReplyDeleteThere are still some attunements in the game. They don't keep people out of the content but make it more of a pain to run it. For example, you can get to Molten Core through BRD, or...you can do the attunement quests to just port right in. You can get into Kara without a key now, as long as someone in the group has the key, but you can still do the attunement quests to get the key yourself. My previous guild made us all get attuned for everything because that proved we were willing to put in the time to actually make the content more meaningful and less of a pain for one person to have to run out to summon or open doors etc. Even in the most recent patch, you have to have a bit of small attunement. You can't do PoS or HoR if you don't do FoS first on regular then in the same sequence on Heroic. You can still do ICC without any attunement, and they removed it for SSC and BT, but it is still attainable if someone wants. There are just a few titles that are not available anymore. If a person wants to do the attunement, they still can.
ReplyDeleteI admit to being a stickler for some content with Spectacular Death. When we run MC/BWL, you best have the attunement to get in or don't come. MC is a 15 minute run/lava bath. BWL is a half hour of goofiness in UBRS. And, if you don't have your "Jenkins" title, get that while you're at it. These attunements are part of the whole experience and, because that's what we're about, getting them is part of the instance.
ReplyDeleteBut I'd like a way for people to know if they are attuned. Right now, there isn't a way. If someone did the attunement but never did MC, other than joining the raid and running to Mr. Belf at the beginning, there's no way to tell.
Maybe attunements could be achievements. Ony 60 is now a Feat of Strength but having that achievement says you did that quest chain to get in. Having achievements for the few remaining attunements might push some people to actually do them. I still have the BT attunement quests in my log. Some day...
