We're Wassssting Time... Precioussssss Time.

So as you all know I am a huge Warcraft Lore buff. The story within the universe is just something which makes you think. Nothing really more than when it involves Nozdormu. He is one of my favourite characters. He is a dragon, master of time, and even though he has lost his aspect powers he is still pretty badass. My favourite point about Nozdormu is when he was given his powers he was shown his death to prove to him that even though he seamed all powerful is his time controlling awesomeness he could not stop death(insert random Malthael look here). This demise was supposed to be End Time when Murozond was defeated. But was it? I have speculated a lot that there is hidden meaning within the instance End Time and the Timeless Isle almost speaks to this fact.

Now keeping that in mind today is Friday, which does mean it is time for a Reader Post and when I saw this submission about End Time I just had to share it. It was written by Mrcoolguyry(btw you need a better name). It deals specifically with the choices of the Echos in End Time. It is a little on the longer side but worth it for all you lore buffs like myself out there.

In the Caverns of Time instances, mostly all of them (with the exception of End Time and Well of Eternity) actually take place in Azeroth's history past and present, and we as the adventurers, our job in them is technically a proto-type for the Timewalkers (by looking at the adventurers defending the timelines from a post-Mists point of view) as we make sure the timelines stay according to their history and eliminate any outside sources that wish to unravel it (The Infinite Dragonflight). In End Time and Well of Eternity on the other hand take place in an alternate future and past. In End Time I have a lot of speculation about. While defeating Murozond and ensuring that "supposedly" the Infinites cease to exist, that would be a fallacy as for the fact that even though we may have gotten rid of the Infinites in Azeroth's current timeline, who's to say that they still couldn't form into existence in an entirely different timeline. Also, I have had a lot of speculation regarding why the Echoes in End Time are the Echoes that they are. Those echoes are those of Jaina, Baine, Tyrande, and Sylvanas. It's time to blow your mind. Each of these echoes' real representations in present Azeroth have ALL been affected in a major way. 

Jaina is the most forefront example. Pre Mists (extending to Vanilla) she had brokered for peace between the Horde (led by Thrall at the time) and the Alliance living in Theramore. Well, then Garrosh takes over and he wanting absolute supremacy over a continent that THE ORCS discovered before the humans, has an absolute reason to see Theramore as a threat to the legacy of the Horde. So then he orders a mana bomb. *boom* Theramore is destroyed and Jaina is fucking pissed along getting a new hairstyle that includes blonde with white highlights. Jaina almost tsunamis the shit out of Orgrimmar before being reminded she's dating a hot elf dragon dude with blue hair. She's alright. Fast forward to Mists. She's okay with Dalaran being neutral, but Garrosh being the king of stupid, decides to just have a group of Horde adventurers representing the Sunreavers, steal the Divine Bell from Darnassus, which technically was claimed by the Kirin Tor alone. Okay now Jaina has a reason to be pissed. The Kirin Tor is supposed to be neutral, but with the adventurers involving in the theft of the bell being Horde, Jaina suspects bias among the Sunreavers being Team Horde. She then goes batshit crazy elf racist bitch and kills stragglers or imprisons naughty elves. Jaina is now at the conclusion of where she is at now of being only Alliance. Then go to Siege, you see a darker side of Jaina in which she suggests to finish off the Horde once and for all. But most people are confused by this. I myself think I am not, so I hope. 

At the end of Siege, if you are Alliance, Varian discusses his worry and urgency to deal with Sylvanas. THIS is the reason why Jaina wanted to dismantle the Horde. And what do you know? Sylvanas was an echo in End Time too. But she is one of two characters that were already affected majorly before Mists. Throughout WoW's history, Sylvanas has always felt the need to plague the shit out of stuff (This even goes back to Vanilla!) eventually reaching a breaking point at the Wrathgate where it is then the Horde expresses concern over what the Forsaken are really capable of (Which in my opinion makes the Horde complete dumbasses. How in the hell were they like not told or notified about the Forsaken's activities by say a Tauren warrior that leveled in Hillsbrad? HOW THE HELL DID THEY NOT FUCKING KNOW!?!). Also of another note she hates the Lich King (I would hate the shit out of someone too if they killed me, raised me up as a ghost, and then had to have me find my fucking body once I broke free of their control), and it didn't really help her when she found out that the Lich King was still alive, but he was just someone else. It was after seeing this, she threw herself off a cliff and *seeing only darkness before me * she gained nine Val'kyr lives in an attempt to downplay that she's basically a cat at this point. Then comes Cataclysm and Sylvanas and her new Val'kyr friends decide the raise the shit out of the dead to bolster their numbers because dead people don't procreate. So basically we have a batshit crazy undead high elf banshee lady queen with a growing army of undead along with biological weapons terrifying similar to the Lich King, the Scourge, and the Cult of the Damned. Yet... what if this is the way Sylvanas and the Forsaken were purposely depicted in WoW? Sylvanas had a partnership with a dreadlord --- who isn't to say that Varimathras possibly persuaded her that in the event of the Scourge's return, she would have to raise up an army to combat that --- The Forsaken --- and could also possibly be used as a bolstering force to the Scourge in the event Sylvanas gained the Crown of Dominion once -- or -- if she defeated the Lich King. Think about that. Sylvanas is acting like a Lich Queen because she's been programmed that way -- after meeting Varimathras. Dreadlords are master manipulators after all. Or another possible scenario is when Varimathras was supposedly defeated in Undercity, he sent his remaining essence went into Sylvanas. *boom* I hope that just blew your mind.

Baine Bloodhoof was also another character majorly affected before Mists. In the interim between Wotlk and Cata he lost his father, and a great betrayal occurred among the Tauren due to the Grimtotem (Once again the Horde are major dumbasses. I mean how the hell did the Tauren not see this coming? Especially Cairne. FUCKING CAIRNE MAN FUCKING CAIRNE). He has since then assumed major responsibility as chieftain of the Tauren, but what could be so significant in his future that would make him an echo in End Time? For this one I don't have a lot of theories. My top one is, he could be the one destined to finally unite all the Tauren tribes under one banner by showing his triumph of leadership over (hopefully) the final judgment on the Grimtotem and the execution of Magatha (one that should have happened a long time ago) and finally eradicating the centaur and quilboar with the blessing of Agamaggan and Zaetar to relieve their cursed children of their suffering while in the process finally making Tauren lands safe and free to roam (ugh lord) as a testament to Cairne's legacy and Baine's tenacity to finally accomplish his father's dream. 

I would include Tyrande to this list, but I have put on a big huge tin-foil hat/fan-fiction/potential ideas for character development for her.

Noz In End Time

Friday! The last day before the long weekend begins. Well a long weekend in Canada at least. This is our Thanksgiving weekend. So yes it is my turkey day! Well Monday is at least. Anyways, Friday means it is time for a Reader Post. The post of the week where you all submit responses based on the topic I gave you. This week I wanted to know what you all thought about Nozdormu being in End Time, the new 5 man instance. So let`s see what you all had to say.

Him appearing as Murozond, the leader of the Infinite, the flight that we know are meddling with the timeline "for the sake of the greater good". What I think is rather interesting is the bronze flight always sent us back to ensure that time was kept the same,but this is the first time that the players actually assist in changing the timeline, rather than preventing it. Nozdormu seemingly makes light of those actions, saying that he'll handle everything. I just think this is the foreshadow of his demise.

Its weird, the Titans showed Nozdormu his death so that he wouldn't have the hubris to think he was invincible...and he just changed the future, therefore changing his end. Weird concept or intended result?     

I really had a very interesting idea. What if the newest patch is the story of not one Aspect's fall, but two? And not a cheap plot device, but a cunning act by Blizzard to tie all the ends together? Nozdormu had always known he'd go mad and die this way, no matter what choices he'd make. What wasn't clear was that it was us who assisted him all the way, both in committing the crime and taking the punishment. Just a thought I've had. Maybe I'm wrong, but looked at from this perspective, I think this patch keeps looking better and better.

It's pretty much been accepted at this point that Murozond is Nozdormu, but I'm stumped as to how this is possible give that it's been stated multiple times that Noz exists outside of time and while you will find multiple versions of a normal person in different time lines, there is and always has been only one Nozdormu across all timelines.

What if what the players witness and assist in doing is actually the very crime against the Timelord's own nature, the point in time where he learns to abuse his power, where the idea of fixing everything comes from, and that's what shatters the Aspect's mind? We know Nozdormu knows his own future, but is powerless to change it. What if, faced with the Deathwing threat, he chooses to betray his own nature and accepts his fate to give Azeroth a fighting chance? And the trip to the "End Time" is not only to show the adventurers the consequences of not stopping Deathwing, but to strengthen his own resolve before the crime he has yet to commit, accepting what it will make him, as well as the death at the hands of beings he deems worthy? To get rid of any regrets before sacrificing his own essence, for the sake of everything else, before he loses what makes him himself, his role as the Aspect? Before he takes the step that he knows and had always known will plunge him into madness?

I suspect that the Dragon Soul being brought into the present from the Well of Eternity may have something to do with Nozdormu's corruption.  The Dragon Soul itself was instrumental in the Old God's corruption of Neltharion. Perhaps the contact Nozdormu will have with the artifact as he returns it to its original timeline will be enough to get the corruption rolling. I think it's an interesting idea that would bring even more things full circle in the upcoming patch.     

Death by mortal hands. It sort of makes sense that he would not be able to prevent it in any way, and the easiest explanation of how all the timelines can lead to this one unavoidable result. Details will vary, but the end result "a mad dragon, slain in combat" is the same. If there were too many details, or if other details were too important, it would potentially make the fate avertable. Even the "mortal hands" bit may be debatable, but still unable to be averted. Even at the End Time, when there is no life left, his past self brings his prophetized end to him. I think this is that kind of mind blown moment everyone expects with time travel.

You Fail At Nozdormu Lore If...

Fail Day! Oh yes it is that time again. As you could probably tell from the title we are going to continue with the Lore character fails. It will not be Horde or Alliance today as many people have sugested I do characters who are netural in natural and many may not know much of anything about. A real test of people's failures I am told. So I went with someone who everyone knows who he is but probably knows next to nothing about. So here we go!

You Fail At Nozdormu Lore If...

• You didn't know he was the Aspect of Time known as the Timeless One
• You were not aware that he was the only aspect empowered by Aman'thul the high father of the Pantheon
• You did not know it is a rare occurrence for him to be seen as he is always off protecting time
• You didn't know Aman'thul showed him his death so he could be taught a lesson to never think he was all powerful to escape it
• You did not know his eyes our hour glasses themselves
• You were not aware he is the one that sent Rhonin, Broxigar, and Krasus back in time to the War of the Ancients
• You were not aware he has a lisp because he is still in each and every moment
• You didn't know he was the one that blessed Nordrassil with the enchantment, which in turn gave the night elves immortality
• You didn't know he has a "Lair" where he places things he has collected throughout the time ways
• You didn't know he is said to be the most powerful yet humble being on Azeroth. Someone who could stop something before it happens, but yet never does
• You were not aware that he and his flight cared for saved blue eggs during the War of the Ancients
• You did not know Thrall was the one that found him lost in the time ways, the reason why he was absent for so long
• You didn't know that in the one time lime where Nozdormu saw that he was the leader of the Infinite Dragonflight he believed it was due to the Old Gods

and finally

• You still don't know that Murozond is in fact the future version of Nozdormu who will eventually go mad and try to interfere with the past.

Ask Gauss

Yay for Sunday. The day you wake up and excited for the day even if you are hungover and are drinking so much coffee you can't think straight. Anyways, let's get back on track. Sunday means Ask Gauss in Gaussland so thats what we will be doing. You know the psot of the week where I get to answer some question which have been driving you insane. Someone may ask, "Gauss how can I send in a question?" I would follow that up with, "where the hell have you been all this time?" then laugh and say top right of the page or just email them to gaussafication@gmail.com. I know so very difficult, maybe one day I will write a instructions in 30 different languages. So with all of that out of the way let's get to the questions.

What do you think of Blizzard applying there LFR boss loot strategy to the game as a whole?

For those who don't know. In the new looking for raid system Blizzard is letting you participate as many times as you wish, but with the exception that you can only be eligible for loot from a boss once. Meaning if you have already killed a boss in the raid you will automatically pass if you are in for that  boss kill again.

So after that explanation I think this is a wonderful idea. Some people would love to do raids more than once per week and don't care about the gear. They just want the experience, and this is the best way to do it. Also there is the case where you may have been in a horrible pug and can't do any of an instance because you have that one boss kill that counteracts all the ones you haven't been able to do. Also think about guilds that could do multiple runs with just a few changes so that those not able to make it on said day or there were too many people on they can now not get locked out of guild raiding for the week. So if you cannot tell I would be all for would be one of the best things for Blizzard to incorporate into raiding.

So it could be that Nozdormu's end will be in a 5 man, isn't this a slap in the face?

Well we don't know the whole story yet, but I really doubt his end will be in a 5 man. I know they are dealing with the infinite dragonflight in a 5 man, but when you think about it all the infinite story lines have been in a 5 man or a quest. I think in this regard they are being fair, but I really doubt arguably the most powerful dragon in all of Azeroth is killed in a 5 man. I think the infinite storyline is perfectly fine to take care of in a 5 man, but Nozdormu's story itself is very far from done. I will do some specific post about this later in the week, but I am absolutely sure this is far from over.

Don't you think it is stupid to have Alexstrasza as a mount reward?

Well for years 90% of the WoW community has been wanting Alexstrasza to mount them. So I think this is Blizzard's way of throwing them a bone...

5 Mans Look Incredible

Well let me just say that after seeing the preview of the new 5 mans I was nothing short of amazed. If you haven't heard or seen the 3 new 5 mans which are going to be released with 4.3 all surrounding the story of Deathwing are all going to take place in the Caverns of Time. I am going to give you my view on these after just reading them.

End Time

First off yes the instance name is End Time. This is a trip to the future which reveals the world as if Deathwing has won. There is something important to see when you hear this.



Yes Deathwing himself doesn't even survive his future. For those of us that read Twilight of the Aspects this is what Ysera dreamed. As you can see from the screenshot he is impaled on the top of Wyrmrest Temple. In this instance you fight 2 leaders of today chosen from 4. Those being Jaina, Baine, Tyrande, and Sylvanas. I don't really agree with Sylvannas because it seemed at first they were using some lesser used leaders and this would be the perfect time to use everyone's favourite forgotten leader Lor'themar in a role that would not be useful but would at least be something. This is the main point though

"Once these shades have been laid to rest, the maniacal figure blocking Nozdormu's vision will be revealed at the Bronze Dragonshrine. None of the Dragon Aspects could have predicted what entity would have such power to interrupt the sight of the Timeless One… the ability to create a new and infinite dragonflight. Only by destroying a mysterious dragon known as Murozond will you give Azeroth's protectors the opportunity to avoid the potential outcome to which your eyes bear witness."

Now you all obviously should know about Anagrams. It is when you rearrange the letters to get something else from them Murozond is and anagram of Nozdormu. Again we knew he was the leader of the infinite from the Twilight of the Aspects book, but I really didn't think we would deal with it this soon.

Well of Eternity

This is the instance people have been waiting for years, but we aren't there for the reasons we thought we would be. We are hear to retrieve the Dragon Soul so we can use it modern day against Deathwing. In this instance we see a young Illidan and Tyrande and we not only have to make sure the Sundering Actually happens, but at the same time we have to retrieve the Dragon Soul for our future purpose. This instance sounds amazing in every way I just have one knock against it.

Every time I imagined the Well it was so much bigger than it is in this picture. I pictured it the size of a large lake not something as large as say a fountain. I guess I cannot have everything.

Hour of Twilight

Here is the excerpt which explains this instance

"Having shattered the infinite dragonflight and recovered the fabled Dragon Soul, Thrall and his allies must now journey to Wyrmrest Temple and rendezvous with the green, blue, red, and bronze dragonflights. Reaching their destination will be an arduous endeavor: the Twilight's Hammer has amassed its forces near the temple, determined to intercept the Dragon Soul at any cost.The final stage in this series of dungeons is set in the present-day Dragonblight, now under a full invasion by the Twilight's Hammer. Players must escort Thrall and the Dragon Soul safely to Wyrmrest Temple, where the assault on Deathwing is to commence. But the Twilight's Hammer forces are numerous, and their leadership remains strong. Those attacking the temple are commanded by a man known very well for the strength of will he's offered Alliance citizens. Now with his own will broken, he preaches only Deathwing's cataclysmic vision for all life on Azeroth."

So you read it. We will be at Wyrmrest saving the world all the while protecting the most simple of discs, which is now the most important thing in the world. And again the events which occurred in Twilight of the Aspects comes to the forefront when the final boss in the instance is none other than Archbishop Benedictus

So those are the three 5 mans coming. Like I said nothing short of spectacular. I am ready to take part in the them, how about you?

So Nozzy's mortal form model is out. You like?


Well for those who haven't seen it.



I actually like it a lot. Being a warrior, of course, means you are a fan of the beard, the tattoos are a great touch as well, and who can forget the spikes coming out of his back. The level of detail they are starting to have on the Lore character models makes me hope that someday we may actually get an update to our models. It may happen, but who knows when. I think also this model is very imposing and it is someone that if you walked up to you would know they deserve to be respected regardless of who knew them or not. I think this is important for Nozdormu, because he has been away for quite some time. So yes I do like it think it was well thought out and put together extremely well.

Another dragon aspect, another elf. Could you please tell me why this is in a lore context?

There are actually a few things to point out. It has been said that dragons have chosen a form that was aesthetically pleasing, as this would make it easier for them to portray themselves without questions. There is also the fact that dragons are indeed magical so taking the form of an elf would mean that those abilities wouldn't be called into question. There is also the idea that Elves themselves are an old race meaning that the younger races wouldn't be a possibility when they actually had to "choose" their humanoid form.

How did those purchase of Blizzcon tickets go?

I didn't actually try, but I am actually thinking of charity dinner ticket.

The Return Of The Timeless One

So first off this post does contain a slight spoiler so if you are not interested in that then please don't read it and complain about it. You have been warned, so all of you can now stop writing your hate mail. It is Friday so it does mean it is time for this week's Reader Post. This week I asked you all to send in your thoughts on the return of Nozdormu as has been seen to happen during the start of the Elemental Bonds questline. So with that little explanation let's see what you all had to say

I think it's kind of silly of them to bring back Nozzy now without explaining anything at all. It would have been better to give Nozzy his own quest line, explaining his absence and everything thats happened like the hourglass event you mentioned, then bring him back for thrall's quest. But meh, this is Blizzard we're talking about. 

I think he is returning in good time to progress the story further. I hope he just doesn't show up and have no explanation at all, but I am glad he is back and coming to the newly formed rebirth of the world tree probably to bless it makes sense. Since he did that originally. One thing I don't understan with no explanation is how he new to come? From Day of the Dragon we know that Nozdormu is there for the Death of Deathwing because of the very fact that he stated that Deathwing would be eventually part of his collection. So I guess I am really saying I am glad he is back.

With him returning maybe we will finally get some answers about the Infinite Dragonflight? Like I think it is pretty obvious that he is the leader, but the question of how and why is what we want to know. Is this a lead in to the caverns of time in 4.3? This is one of the most interesting story arcs wow has and I am beyond excited to see it play out.

I know this is kindof a sidebar but, didn't Nozdormu used to have a pretty bad speech impediment? Shouldn't his one line be more like "Time is preciousssss sissssster. Let us sssssee to our ritual". Shame they changed it, I thought that was a rather fun thing about his character. Anyway I know I shouldn't be assuming things based only on the dialogue of the event but it seems a little bit lame to me. Did Fandral seriously just walk into that meeting and kill Thrall, the "most powerful shaman on Azeroth", in front of two dragon aspects, the greatest druid that has ever lived and his pissed off girlfriend? 

He was never gone. He said himself he's in multiple places at once.

Ask Gauss

So it is Mother's Day and anyone out there who is a deserving mother out there then I wish you the best. Anyone who just uses the day to milk something they shouldn't get recognition for then you are the bane of everyone's existence they well you will get what is coming to you. Anyways, enough of that rant. Today is Sunday meaning it is time for Ask Gauss. The post of the week where I answer the questions put forth by all of you. If you are still clueless as to how to send in your questions well it is pretty simple. Just check the link on the top right of the page or just send the emails directly to gaussafication@gmail.com. Enough of all that, time to answer some. As a note there are spoilers in some of these answers so I would suggest not reading the question and answer if you are interested in it being a surprise.

So it was revealed that it was Fandral, you happy with it?

Well they, of course, needed to put something in to explain how he all of the sudden is the Majordomo to Ragnaros. So this really does put it into mind that he is in fact a "bad" guy. Secondly this kind of ties into how Twilight's Hammer and Ragnaros are connected. It also leaves some unanswered questions. Like is Deathwing running the Twilight's Hammer and always was? Since Cho'Gal is dead this would be a logical conclusion. This also states it clearly that Ragnaros serves Deathwing, something I am not completely a fan of, but it works regardless. One thing also Malfurion says in the dialogue that he has corrupted druids, does this mean there will be a whole new form of druids we will fight against. Druid's of the Flame perhaps? One thing I am not comfortable with though is Fandral, a druid, being able to use shamanistic powers. To me this seems wrong and I hope it turns out that Fandral was just acting out something prepared by Deathwing instead of him preforming it himself.

So Nozdormu is back, any idea?

This puzzles me as well since he is supposed to be missing. Sure we saw him in Northrend at the Bronze Dragonshrine, but what truly has he been doing? I find this very odd with him coming back and we hear nothing of the Infinite flight. Are we just supposed to ignore what we have been thinking about for years since we first saw the Infinite flight. If they just bring him back without a long explanation of what has been going on then it doesn't make any sense. Does he just show up to this meeting without saying a word? Does everyone accept him just showing up and not asking questions with everything that has been going on? I think that would be pretty impossible for anyone to accept.

Have you had a successful ZG or ZA pug?

If by successful you mean killed the last boss, then yes. If you meant if I wanted to bash my head against a wall because it would be less painful, then no.

New Caverns of Time Raid

So as promised I am going to talk about how I think we will get some connections with the new CoT: War of the Ancients instance. As a review let's go over the CoTs so far.

Escape from Durnhold: Help Thrall escape Infinites try to stop you from doing so.
Opening of the Dark Portal: Make sure the Dark Portal is opened. Infinites try to stop you.
Battle for Mount Hjyal: Make sure Archimonde armies are not successful. No Infinite to be seen.
Culling of Stratholm: Make sure Arthas is successful in driving Mal'Ganis to Northrend. Infinites try to stop you.
War of the Ancients: Unknown as of yet

So many people believe that Nozdormu is responsible for the Infinite flight. There are many cases for this as they travel through time, which is a bronze thing, and there was that whole quest in Dragonblight that hinted at it. The theory basically states that Nozdormu is trying to stop his death with particular events that would lead to this happening, since for those who don't know when he was granted his abilities by the titans he was also shown the exact moment he would die.

Another working theory is that the Infinite dragons themselves are rogue dragons that are trying to stop things that would as they would think help the world. For example, if Thrall doesn't escape the Orcs don't get a renewed strength and there would be no new Horde as we know it. If the Dark portal doesn't get opened then the Orcs never come to Azeroth and the world never has to deal with the resulting conflicts. In CoS if Arthas doesn't succeed in culling Stratholm then he doesn't become the Lich King and Illidan is then successful at destroying the Frozen Throne. Everyone could argue that these would all be good things as a result. There is, of course, always the argument that the resulting timeline could in fact be a worse result, or that whatever happens is meant to happen. With mount Hjyal it can be argued that there was no Infintes because the result itself was the desired result, but then why not help to make sure it was achieved?

Now this leads us to the new instance and the Infinite, will they interfere? Well if they are trying to stop Nozdormu's death I believe that the infinite would interfere to stop the Aspect from losing a portion of his power with the creation of the Dragon Soul. If the Infinite are trying to stop events from happening that would result in timelines and a better result for the world. Then I believe they will be trying to stop in the creation of the Dragon Soul and Deathwing becoming empowered. The result of the war would have to remain the same, but I cannot see another reason for the instance besides the Dragon Soul itself. This would make sense because the expansion is all about Deathwing and this development is centred around him as well.

Regardless this is one of my favourite moments in Warcraft Lore and I will be glad to be right there experiencing it.
