You Fail At Not Paying Attention To Gaming During Your Holiday If...

So here I am starting things all over again back from my Birthday Holiday. Was a good time. Definitely need time to just step away and enjoy things. So for those who missed me I am back. To those who thought I would never be back well HA I sure showed you! I will though on this fail day pay tribute to my holiday on how it was hard to stay holiday focused.

You Fail At Not Paying Attention To Gaming During Your Holiday If...
  • Gamescon was happening
  • World of Warcraft decides to announce their next expansion
  • There were new heroes and skins added to Heroes of the Storm
  • You wanted to know what this Grand Tournament was all about
  • You ended up in a retro games store
  • You had a heated discussion on why SimCity is better than the Sims
  • Someone gives you a new video game to play
  • Someone wants you to play a game with them
  • Someone wants you to show them how to beat something
  • You got so many mosquito bites you had to stay inside one day
  • You realized some video games aren't hard to play while hungover
  • You end up trying to explain the "You Must Construct Additional Pylons" Card in Cards Against Humanity

and finally
  • You needed an idea for a fail day post when you came back

There you have it this week's edition of fail. Hope you all enjoyed it and it is good to be back!

You Fail At Coming Back To WoW If...

Fail Day! Yes it is that time of the week, and really this last week has been crazy in so many respects. I think I may have finally got through the mass of emails which invited themselves to my inbox. It is amazing what announcing coming back to WoW will do. I have got everything from guild invites, offers to power level, auction house advice, gear crafting suggestions and so much more I can not even think of them all. With all of this in mind though I have come to the conclusion for the perfect Fail Day post this week. So here it is.

You Fail At Coming Back To WoW If...
  • You cannot remember all the names of the addons you used to use
  • Your bags were still filled to the brim the last to you were online
  • You are not prepared to answer the question "Are you the real Gauss?" countless times a day
  • You don't visit Thunderbluff
  • You didn't miss the "Why is your mount always in the way?" comments
  • You do not realize how concerned with people telling you about the Timeless Isle
  • You don't take countless amounts of screen shots
  • You are not ready for the "Do you remember me moments?"
  • You are still not furious about not having a turtle
  • You don't make random Hearthstone comments about mobs you come in contact with
  • You didn't miss people threatening to report you
  • You are not able to keep up with multiple conversations about the same thing
  • Bagelllord doesn't greet you with a hello

and finally
  • You think you wouldn't be asked for Pi within seconds of being online.
There you have it this week's edition of Fail. Also a special thanks to everyone who has offered their help in anyway you did. Much appreciated.

May The Earthmother Smile Upon You

Honestly I really have no idea how to truly write this post. It is really weird also that I feel something like this deserves a blog post on its own. You see a couple years ago I stopped doing something, something I enjoyed doing for quite some time. I stopped because it wasn't as fun as it used to be and I was only doing it because I felt I had to. It is not like this anymore.

Over that time I have been asked again and again to play again. "Things have changed", "We were talking about old times", "Your name came up today", "Don't you miss it?". Day after day month after month. I would be lying if I said I didn't miss it, because I did. I missed tons of things about the game. There was also things I didn't miss about it. So I would say thanks and continue on with my day.

Over the last couple months though it has been different. Mainly since Blizzcon where I truly have missed it more than normal. I have been talking about it much more and not just about the lore and the story, but about the game itself. Did I actually want to pick up the game again and play, or was this just something which would fade. So I let it be. I have been happy playing all these other games lately not like I didn't have anything to do, plus there has been the holidays.

Then came Monday when Safiree and Khulk were, putting it lightly, pestering me about it. So I thought about it more and Tuesday I made the decision. The decision all of you probably know by now. Gauss will be returning to World of Warcraft. I am not making any promises of how long I will be playing or how exactly I will be playing. Today though I will be there. As it will be my first day back. Feel free to say hello I am sure there will be a lot of you doing so.

The Return

So before I start writing this, I know what you all are thinking. Where did I go? Stopped writing without warning didn't answer any emails like WTF GAUSS???. Many of you thought I was dead. Not kidding. In fact I was even linked to a series of blog posts about how that must be the case. So before I write about anything I believe I owe you all an explanation.

Warning:If you have the attention span of gnat or tend to curl up in the fetal position and cry when you have to read too much or could careless about an explanation. Scroll down. You will know when to start reading again I made it rather obvious

When I started this blog it was a blog about my adventures in World of Warcraft. I wrote about anything on my mind WoW related. Sometimes funny, sometimes completely meaningless, somethings insulting, and sometimes frankly I had no idea what I was writing about it the words just ended up on the page. For some reason or another you all enjoyed it. No matter what it may have been. I started getting requests on a massive scale and I did my best to make people's visions come to life. The blog evolved and I had specific days people would look forward to for a particular post. Fail Day being the most recognizable and popular of them all. The best part of all of this is I enjoyed writing them all. No matter how hard at times it was to write something I think you all would enjoy or that I thought had enough of "Gauss" to make it worth reading.

As time went on I started writing about other things and not just WoW. No one complained and I thought for the most part everyone just enjoyed reading what I had written(no matter how poorly) regardless of the topic, but  I never forgot how it all got started or where most of my readership came from.

Over the last few months before I stopped writing I stopped playing WoW. Not because I didn't enjoy the game, but because I wasn't playing it how I wanted to. You see when I game I commit to it, and want to play at the highest level possible. I didn't have the time myself to commit to leading a guild and raid leading like I used to. My progress slipped and I wasn't happy and I knew I could never be happy playing WoW causally.

I did though continue to write, but I got to the point where I felt as if it wasn't right for me to go on writing especially about WoW when I didn't play the game anymore. That is not to say I wasn't informed, far from it really, but I was an outsider. It felt like I was betraying part of my readership, the ones who were there from the start. So I stopped writing cold turkey without even thinking. I wrote a posts explaining why, but never posted them no excuse really. It felt even more worse as time went by and reading the countless emails I received asking "what happened?". Yes, I did read every single one. Sadly, I didn't reply because I knew all of you would convince me otherwise.

But I came to that realization myself. I enjoy writing this blog no matter how awful I am at actually putting words together. I still have an opinion about everything, and I still have no problem at calling people out for being that special kind of stupid. So I am back to put those Adventures of mine into words. So this world that has existed without Gauss' Adventures?

So there is that long winded explanation, which some of you may have actually read. So what will I be posting about then? Who the hell knows. I still know more about Warcraft Lore then Red Shirt Guy, still spend too much time playing video games, and of course have a soft spot in my heart idiots of all shapes and sizes. So no worries there will be plenty of facepalms, spitting out of your drink, and aloe vera needed for a long time.

Before I forget and anyone asks Machinima Mondays, Fail Day, Ask Gauss, and the Reader Posts will all be returning. I have also updated the look of the blog because I can and that includes the sidebar which includes how to get in touch with me among other things.

Gauss is Returning...

Yes... I am not dead you read that correctly. I will give you all a few days to prepare....
