You Fail At Quiting If...

Well here we go again time for everyone's favourite day of the week, Fail Day. The day to sit back and realize that there are people who play this game that fail more than you. Or maybe even realize that there really is no one that fails more than you. This week I decided to dabble in the quitters and what they are amazing at. So sit back read, laugh, and enjoy.

You Fail At Quiting If...
  • You post on the forums saying that you are quiting each least once a week
  • Whenever something new comes out you say "This is going to be what makes me quit"
  • You thought you were actually quiting gave away all your stuff then came back 3 days later to realize you have nothing
  • You still have mobile guild chat installed on your phone
  • You refresh your armory page and wonder if anyone misses you
  • You watch the boss strat videos for the new patch just to "see"
  • You don't play anymore except on weekends
  • You get all gitty when your WoW magazine comes in the mail
  • You decided to play casually, then you decided just going to pvp, then decided you were going to raid 2 days, then 4 days...
  • You don't play but you are up to date on every detail no matter how minor
  • You brag to people you know your gear and achievement score like they are your greatest accomplishments
  • You still say brb bio every chance you get to make the transition easier
  • MMO Champion is your web browser's Homepage
  • You tease people with eternal happiness when you don't actually quit
and finally
  • You post on every gaming forum to say "this is why I quit this stupid game"
There you have it, this week's edition of failure. Hope you all enjoyed it. Good luck on the fresh reset, may all your drops be healing plate that no one needs.

Dalaran Deserted

Monday is upon us and it is beyond hot outside to the point where it is that uncomfortable hot. But if you are reading this you probably aren't outside and are most likely inside sitting in front of your computer screaming at me that it is Monday and asking where the hell is my Machinima. Well it is Monday so you would be right. This week I decided to choose a machinma that would remind us where we are. To do this WoW Crendor is back again this time reminding us upon good old Dalaran. I am sure that all of you will find this quite entertaining, enjoy

Good Luck on this last day before reset.

Ask Gauss

Sunday is here and with all my complaining on rain well Mother Nature said screw you and now it is hot as hell outside. So really is a good day to stay in. Being Sunday all if not most of you know that it is Ask Gauss the post of the week where I get to answering questions that have been sent in. So let's just get on to it.

What are your thoughts on the current scheduled nerfs to the Tier 11 content in 4.2?

First off we all knew they were coming maybe not to the extent as they have, and in truth I also expected nerfs to the Heroic versions, which didn't received any actually. Yes, Blizzard wants everyone to see the content at least on the normal mode and this will probably allow them to do so. The problem with doing this is that many who could not do the content as of now will now be stuck when they head into Firelands and it is too hard. Which means when 4.3 comes along we will have this whole problem all over again. Many of the older wow players think time nerfs content enough, where people can get gear to out gear an encounter. I believe this was the purpose of the valor points from the daily heroics. This way they could get the current gear without doing the harder content and get what was needed to defeat content to them, which was unbeatable. The strat they are using is a double nerf. Not only will people be able to get the current content gear, but the past tier will be easier regardless of more gear or not. This creates artificial gratification like something was accomplished and they are now "amazing" for doing so and can now "own" the current tier. This again is obviously not the case. This may in turn increase the number of bad players by a significant margin, but only time will tell.

Can you really play WoW if you don't raid?

You can, although that really isn't the purpose of the game to its core. Yes, you can quest, RP, PvP, explore, making gold, or all of those things. The fact of the matter the game doesn't tailor to any of these. For all the PvPers WoW is not a PvP game. It is not balanced correctly for it and it just becomes combo vs combo. This is due to the fact that the devs focus on PvE. Even major esports tournaments have realized this and have dropped WoW Arena from them, because it is boring to watch and is just like I said combo vs combo. Now this doesn't mean you can't find fun with it in game, just means you have to realize what it is. WoW rewards players for raiding and attempting raids and everything in the game leads you to the path of raiding. So yes you can play, but I don't think you are really playing the game how it was meant to be played.

Since Azeroth Daily show is ended for the time being, that mean you are going to give us a Daily Show?

LOL, sorry no. No one can top TB.

There you have it. That is it for this week, hope you all got the answers you were looking or not looking for. Next week's Reader Post I want you all to send in your thoughts on how you can play WoW without raiding. As always you have until Thursday night to get in your submissions. Enjoy what is left of your weekend.

The Form They Take

Happy Friday everyone, as always I hope it actually is a happy Friday. Is it even possible for a Friday to be bad, because you know how much good is on its way? Anyways, Friday does mean it is time to have the weekly Reader Post. You know the post which is made up of whatever I asked you all to send in about. This week I asked you all to send in your thoughts on why the Dragons take the humanoid forms they take. Yes pretty simple and pretty open. So let's see what people had to say.

...You're a dragon. An important one, which means you have to mingle with the humanoid races, and must assume a humanoid form. Would you rather assume a humanoid form with a lifespan of aprox. 100 years or one that can be thousands of years old? Id assume the latter.

Imagine yourself in game. You are minding your own, picking flowers. You hear a whoosh of wind, the branches in the trees near you bending to the wind. A Blood Elf chick plops down in front of you. She wants to chat. In fact, she has a job that she needs you to do.Now Imagine the same scenario, only this time, a gynormous dragon tears down the trees in her way, slams down on the ground hard enough to bounce you off your feet, squashes the deer you were watching in the woods. For story purposes, they use the elf or blood elf form to keep us from crapping our pants every time they want to chat with us. Personally, my pants appreciate it.

I would think Green dragons use the night elf form because of the connections with the Emerald Dream. It only makes sense since them seem to have some sort of pack with the Night Elf race. The Reason everyone else uses elves I am not sure with, but there is probably some logical conclusion to be made just like I did with the Green Dragons I am just not that involved in the Lore to speak on it at the moment.

Black, Blue and Red Dragons often take the form of humans. Especially the males. This is generally considered to be the most "social" and widely accepted race in the Eastern Kingdoms. It's also, by and large, the "ruling" race, possessing most of the territory in that area. The fact that Black Dragons (male and female) prefer this form demonstrates their desire to rule over things.
When assuming a humanoid form dragons tend to take one they are accustomed to. The eldest of dragons tend to prefer elves since that is the race they trafficked with the longest. Black dragons tend to prefer humans since they want to spread discord and have been trying very hard to bring down the alliance. Assuming a human form would make the most sense since humanity makes up the core of the alliance.Reds like to assume both elves and humans the most but will assume any of Azeroth's races since they consider themselves protectors and its easier to mingle with lesser races on both sides if you are flexible with what you might need to be depending on the situation. Bronze like the reds can assume any form as well depending on the situation since they might need to mingle in a period where whatever race they are mingling with might not know about say humans or the existence of orcs.  Greens for the most part tend to prefer Night elves since Yesera has a special connection with them from the War of the Ancients which would filter down to the rest of the flight. Unlike the other flights they rarely interact with mortals directly. Most of the blue dragons are younger then many of the other dragons in other flights since they were almost all slaughtered by Deathwing back in the War of the Ancients. Since they are guardians of magic they will change more often into the races that dominate that field the most (elves/humans) since they would be mingling with them the most.

Lorewise? Elves were the de-facto "important" race back when the Dragons ran around everywhere. They all had forms that reflected who they had to interact with and then they fell in love with one particular form.

Why should a dragon care what they look like in humanoid form, anyway? After all, if somebody doesn't like it, they can just be all "%#*% YOU, I'M A DRAGON" and stomp them. That said, I definitely wouldn't mind more variety. Wasn't there a dragon questgiver with the appearance of a goblin somewhere?

That is it for this week. Thank you all who sent in something for the post. Sorry that I couldn't include everything. If you would like to participate in next week's Reader Post look for next week`s topic on Sunday during the Ask Gauss post.
Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Abyssal Maw

So the following question was asked in the latest Ask The Devs segment
Q: What happened with the Abyssal Maw dungeon that was supposed to come with Firelands? – Maryjanee (EU-EN), Espiritu (NA)

A: Our initial plan for this raid tier was to have fewer bosses in Firelands and a small number of bosses in the Abyssal Maw. As we looked more closely at Firelands, though, we realized that it deserved more bosses. We also got excited about designing item art (and set bonuses!) that were very fiery in nature, and the Molten Front questing area was turning out to be really cool, so we ended up piling more resources into Firelands. That led to the decision to focus on one strong theme (fire), rather than a more diluted fire-and-water theme.

The case for Abyssal Maw pitch was that we could reuse a lot of existing assets (the fights were to take place in a giant shelled demigod like Nespirah), and while we are willing to do that, we thought Abyssal Maw would just pale in comparison to the magnificence of the Firelands. So, we put all of our eggs into that one basket. We’ve decided for now that the Vashj’ir quest line along with the Throne of the Tides dungeon does a pretty good job of finishing the Neptulon story.

Now I completely understand that splitting resources between the two raids for one tier would probably take away from each of them. Imagine having Tier sets that were a mix of fire and water, how odd we would be looking as a group. Also I know many people don't like this, but I have always enjoyed the idea of 1 raid per tier it makes you think you are actually accomplishing something. Now I understand the idea of having multiple instances especially maybe in the first tier to give options and an option for story progression. Yes there can be bosses that can be blockers, but then you just have to design the instance to have options so this doesn't happen. This is actually exactly what they have done with the Firelands.

Now speaking to all of that I understand why Firelands will be our option come 4.2, and I am extremely excited to take part in everything it brings to us. There is a but though. How can Blizzard actually say they are happy with the way the Nepulon story is at? I sincerely hope they mean for the moment, because being taken away by Ozumat and leaving that unknown what has happened is not a good ending. So good on Blizzard for focusing themselves, but I just hope they do the right thing and finish the Nepulon story correctly

My Poor Keyring

So I am pretty sure everyone has heard about this change

World of Warcraft has evolved quite a bit since the day the Keyring bag slot was added in patch 1.11. When implemented, this Keyring provided players with a convenient way of storing dungeon, quest, and other keys automatically. Back when the largest bag was a mind bottling 18 slots - rumoured to be bottomless - the Keyring helped save precious bag space. But as things tend to do, time went on, bags got bigger, and designs for gating content (literally and figuratively) evolved through the years.

In today's Azeroth, keys don't really serve much of a purpose except to take up physical storage space from the game (which could be used for other awesome stuff), and visual interface space on yours. Because of this, we've decided to get rid of the Keyring in order to free up some user interface space for exciting new features. This change could also potentially allow us to play around with the amount of default storage space you're allotted down the road. So, what does this mean for you and the keys you might not have looked at in the last couple expansions or so?

We're currently working on the implementation of a system in patch 4.2 which will handle the removal of the Keyring, while causing you as little hassle with keys as possible. Some keys which no longer serve a purpose in the game will automatically be removed from your inventory. In return, you'll be compensated for them with their respective vendor sell prices in gold. You might also have random leftover quest keys from outdated quests, or quests which were removed in Cataclysm. Keys that fall into this category have no use and no sell price, as they are labelled as quest items, and will be automatically removed from your inventory. Any remaining keys that might still potentially serve some use in the game will be transferred into your regular inventory. If there is not enough space in your inventory to hold any leftover keys once patch 4.2 hits live realms, the keys will be placed in a backlogged storage system. Once space is made for a backlogged key, the key will take that space after you log out or switch to a new zone (i.e. changing continents, entering a dungeon or Battleground, etc.).

We are continuing to work on new ways of allowing you to better manage the storage of various items in the game, and it is our goal to make sure the removal of the Keyring causes as little inconvenience to you as possible.

What I am concerned with is storage space. I have every key, I believe, that will not be exempt. I have all BC heroic keys, Shadow Labs, Arcatraz, Maly 10 and 25, Celestrial Planetarium 10 and 25, Karazhan, and the Scarlet Key. So I am not a Blacksmith so won't have to deal with the madness of the Skeleton keys, but still. I understand this may lead to more bag space relief in another direction, which I completely agree with. The fact of the matter is I cannot get rid of any of these keys. Yes a tabard interface would be amazing since I am pretty sure I may have every single tabard ever created in my bank. Blizzard makes all this holiday gear, archaeology items, and so on and so forth and now are going to be taking away one of the things that has saved us space for years and asking us to make room for there things. I know people will say just rid yourself of things you have collected over the years, but honestly that really isn't an option. I just hope they think of something for someone like me that has played the game since the start, has 26 slot bags in every slot and is already running out of bag space.

You Fail At Going On And On About Premium Services If...

Well it is Tuesday, which means it is time for another Fail Day. Yes that is correct it is time to make other people feel horrible so we can feel better. Isn't that great? This week I decided to go off on a tangent about this premium crap that has been going on. So sit back and enjoy!

You Fail At Going On and On About Premium Services If...
  • You think any of these things gives anyone and advantage
  • You would never use any of these services anyway
  • You are subscribed to any specialty channels on your television
  • You think someone having a sparkle pony makes them a better player
  • You don't find it odd that you are jealous of someone with a mobile guild chat application
  • You are upset you can't stroke your epeen while not in front of your computer because you don't have the mobile armory application
  • You believe your "friends" on other servers are not there because they never wanted to group with you to begin with
  • You believe in the slippery slope theory
  • You believe since you had to pay for a sex change in real life you shouldn't have to pay for it in game
  • Every comment you make on the forums from now on is "blah blah will be a premium service"
  • You are just upset because this means you have to ask your mom to raise your allowance
  • You some how relate this to the game going to the casuals
  • You go on and on about other games having these services for free when no other game has anything marginally close to what you are complaining about
  • You use this as an excuse to say RIFT is a better game
and finally
  • You have never said thank you to Blizzard once for not raising your monthly subscription
And there you have it this week's edition of fail. Hope you all enjoyed it, I know it made me feel a little better inside. Good luck Free Loot Tuesday is upon us!

My Violent Heart

Happy Victoria Day everyone. For those of non-commonwealth countries, happy Monday. As with every Monday it is time to showcase a machinima. I chose My Violent Heart for several reasons. I always get a ton of questions about Draenei Lore and how it works into everything, and yesterday on Know Your Lore at WoW Insider they decided to do it on the "cosmos". Which made me think of Argus and the whole back story of the Draenei. So this isn't a perfect telling of the story, but it is quite an amusing and visually appealing way to look at it. This video is done by one of my favourite machinimators Gnomechewer. Who has given us great pieces like "Gilnean Like Me", and "Princely Reign". So sit back and I hope you all enjoy it.

Enjoy the fireworks this evening, and good luck on your last day before reset.

Ask Gauss

Sunday is here on this wonderful long weekend filled with a ridiculous amount of rain. Can you tell I am a little bitter? Anyways, Sunday means I get to give something back, and by that I mean answer questions people asked. So now don't send me something asking for your money. As always if you want to send in your question there is a link at the top right of the page or you can just email me directly at gaussafication@gmail.com. With that out of the way let's see what we have this week.

So Nozzy's mortal form model is out. You like?

Well for those who haven't seen it.

I actually like it a lot. Being a warrior, of course, means you are a fan of the beard, the tattoos are a great touch as well, and who can forget the spikes coming out of his back. The level of detail they are starting to have on the Lore character models makes me hope that someday we may actually get an update to our models. It may happen, but who knows when. I think also this model is very imposing and it is someone that if you walked up to you would know they deserve to be respected regardless of who knew them or not. I think this is important for Nozdormu, because he has been away for quite some time. So yes I do like it think it was well thought out and put together extremely well.

Another dragon aspect, another elf. Could you please tell me why this is in a lore context?

There are actually a few things to point out. It has been said that dragons have chosen a form that was aesthetically pleasing, as this would make it easier for them to portray themselves without questions. There is also the fact that dragons are indeed magical so taking the form of an elf would mean that those abilities wouldn't be called into question. There is also the idea that Elves themselves are an old race meaning that the younger races wouldn't be a possibility when they actually had to "choose" their humanoid form.

How did those purchase of Blizzcon tickets go?

I didn't actually try, but I am actually thinking of charity dinner ticket.

That is it for this week hope you all got what you wanted and needed out of it. Next week's Reader Post I want you all to tell me your reasoning for the the dragons taking the forms they take as a humanoid. As always you have until Thursday night to get your submissions in. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and maybe we can get some nice weather.

The New Legendary Proc

Friday has come and it is the last day in the way of my long weekend. Also though, you should know that Friday's are the day of the Reader Post. The post of the week where you all write them based on your submissions. This week I wanted you all to comment on the current proc on the Legendary Staff and what you thought of it. If you want to see what I said you can go back to the last Ask Gauss and read up, but today is all about what you all think. So time to see what you had to say.

....Imagine if an elemental shaman got this staff..... coupled with the mastery proc..... my friends, we could be looking at a situation with 3 chain lightnings going of in unison....
*goes to level a shaman*

I hope the PPM goes down depending on the class/spec wielding it... My AffLock wouldn't find this all that great.unfortunately this proc would be useless for dot specs, unless it lets you put 2 dots of the same on the target. Then again that'd be cool, but I think the idea of straight damage dealing spells copied would be more useful... unless you could soul swap that extra dot with the others.

I think this is really kind of a silly proc that is really only useful for certain classes and specs and therefore it truly won't be a true "Caster Weapon". I really think if they wanted it to be even it should just proc the spell that turns you into a member of the Blue Flight and then hits for an amount based on your spell power. This way not matter what spec dot class or not it is going to be hitting for an amount that will not be RNG and will be pretty comparable across all classes. The way I see it at the moment is no guild in their right mind would ever let a affliction lock or a Shadow Priest even try to get this. So I guess this isn't really the caster legendary we have been waiting for.

Afflocks make me sad for this proc and frost mage wont really care. Itll just make shatters a little more powerful. ARCANE and FIRE though... thats going to be cool. double instant pyroblast? yes please? EXTRA four stack Arc blast for free? om nom nom. Boomy/Ele i think will get the most benefit... Free instant star surges (or 2nd starfall) will wreck things as well as double procs of this and elemental overload on any shaman spell. lava burst being the scariest but even seeing 4 lightning bolts flying at you and hitting in one global is going to hurt like you wouldn't believe.

For increasing the damage during a burn phase, nothing is going to come close to an arcane mage. Over the course of a whole fight, I have no clue what it would be better with. If the copied spell behaved exactly like the original did and it's effects counted towards class mechanics, then I would say that fire mages would see great use out of it, but can't say they would be the best.

Lazy proc, not exciting at all. Really just a glorified Thrash Blade. Really this is the best that Blizzard could come up with? The same people that thought of the Purple swrilies of doom with the strength proc?

And that's it. Thank you to everyone who submitted something, even the ones whose submissions did not get posted. If you want to know next week's topic be sure to check out Sunday's Ask Gauss post. Enjoy your weekend everyone and if you are lucky like myself it is a long weekend for you.

The Best One Liners

So everyone knows I enjoy the speeches and dialogue in this game. So a few days ago I was looking through my mails and saw this question asking about some of my favourite one liners WoW has had over the years. Now I thought about just doing this as one of the questions for this Sunday's Ask Gauss, but then I thought it would make a great post, since it has been a long time since I did a list type post. So here you have it Gauss' List of the Top 10 One Liners in WoW

10)Ya will spend ya reign glancin' over ya shoulda and fearin' tha shadows, for when tha time comes and ya blood be slowly drainin' out, ya will know exactly who fired da arrow dat pierced ya heart. -Vol'jin

9)Honor young heros, no matter how dire the battle never forsake it! -Saurfang

8)Watch your clever mouth, bitch. -Garrosh

7)Isn't it obvious, Warchief? I serve the Horde. -Sylvanas Windrunner

6)You want my blood come then dog -Varian

5)Merely a setback! -Kael'thas along with many others

4)And when the time is right, the Betrayer will become... the
betrayed. -Akama

3)Am I a murderer, Krom'gar? -Garrosh

2)Behold, now, the terrible vengeance of the Forsaken! -Putress

and of course

1)YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!!!! - Illidan Stromrage

So there you have it my Top 10 one liners, I am sure there will be ones that you think should be on and others you think shouldn't be. Feel free to complain about either.

People And Their Entitlement

So those who didn't know, this was announced yesterday

With the continued popularity of the Dungeon Finder, many players have been asking for a way to group up with real-life friends who play on other realms to take on instances together. Today, we wanted to give you a heads up about a new feature currently in development that will allow players to invite Real ID friends of the same faction to a party regardless of the realm they play on, and then queue up for a 5-player regular or Heroic dungeon.

As this is a fairly complex service to develop, we don’t have a release date to share quite yet. It’s important to note that as with some of the other convenience- and connectivity-oriented features we offer, certain elements of the cross-realm Real ID party system will be premium-based, though only the player sending the invitations will need to have access to the premium service. We'll have more details to share with you as development progresses -- in the meantime, you may begin to see elements of the feature appear on the World of Warcraft PTR.

So people have been freaking out how Blizzard is all about the money making this a premium service and how it should be for everyone regardless, because they pay a subscription. Let me tell everyone who thinks this way they are way out of line. If you are on different servers regardless of if they are your friends or not you have no right based on the way the game is defined to play with those people. Let me state a fact, you are on different servers. I don't care if you have known them for years this doesn't change the fact that you didn't transfer your toon to their realm, you didn't reroll a toon on their realm, meaning you haven't thought for a second that those people were worth playing with to do so. So why all of the sudden when this is annouced you have been wanting to play with these friends for years without giving up anything? You want the best of both worlds. You want to be selfish and do your own thing and not make a commitment to change, but you also want to have access to a service for free because of your selfishness. This is what is wrong with the world. You think you are entitled to anything and everything because you pay for something else. This is like expecting a caesar salad with your meal instead of a regular one and refusing to pay the extra $0.50.

This is what makes me sick and disgusted with people. There is countless comments on forums everywhere complaining about how this is wrong of Blizzard, but frankly they are providing an extra service to a minimal amount of people, which will cost them money to put in place. This is the definition of something extra. This won't effect the game in anyway shape or form. People who pay for this are not going to have this insane advantage over everyone else. This isn't buying loot or boss kills so really everyone just shut the fuck up about this, and look at it for what it is. A Premium Service.

You Fail At Tier Sets If...

Happy Tuesday everyone. Fail Day is upon us once again and that means it is time to make sure others feel horrible about themselves. Yes, I know this makes me an awful person, but I tend not to care and just think of myself as doing everyone else a favour for saying things that everyone else wish they could say. This week we are going to go all out about people and their tier sets.

You Fail At Tier Sets If...
  • You complain how yours looks and you never had to wear warrior tier 2
  • You think that there is a hunter tier that looks bad
  • You pray they return to the days of 8 piece tier sets
  • You think the artists should just quit their jobs because they contribute nothing
  • You think it makes sense that a Pally wears a robe made out of plate
  • You think it isn't at all odd how the shoulders keep getting bigger
  • You are a druid who complains his sets are modeled too much after nature
  • You dislike how sets are model after the instances they come from
  • You think Blizzard has no clue about the game when they decide on set bonuses
  • You complain how a piece of gear that you are not supposed to wear doesn't match your tier gear
  • You are complaining all the Tier 12 gear 4 piece bonuses have procs that deal with fire
  • You are a Pally who thinks he can complain about the looks of your sets even if you had arguably the best looking set ever made
  • You think it is better to have a completely new set design for the heroic tier of the sets
and finally
  • You are a caster and think you will ever get away from wearing a dress
That is it for this week. Sorry for the later post got a little tied up with somethings. No I didn't die or anything so all of you that sent mails asking me if I was ok. I am sure you feel better now knowing you got your Fail Day fix.

Maiev, Life After The Betrayer

Well..Monday is here once again and besides it being disappointing being the start of the work week, it is also the time to showcase a machinima for all of you. So I know a lot of you for a long time have been trying to answer the Lore question of what is going on with Maiev since the defeat of Illidan in the Black Temple. I like many others have been unable to answer that question. As a little teaser here is the last conversation Maiev took place in

Illidan says: Is this it, mortals? Is this all the fury you can muster?
Maiev says: Their fury pales before mine, Illidan. We have some unsettled business between us.
Illidan says: Maiev...How is it even possible?
Maiev says: Ah, my long hunt is finally over. Today, Justice will be done!
Maiev says: It is finished. You are beaten.
Illidan says: You have won...Maiev. But the huntress...is nothing without the hunt. You...are nothing...without me.
Maiev says: He's right. I feel nothing. I am nothing. Farewell, champions.

There you have it the last we have seen before Marquessa gave us the answers we seek. This is a Warcraft Movies link and it is about 3 minutes long well worth the time and I am sure you will enjoy it.

Maiev, Life After The Betrayer

Enjoy your Monday and your last day before reset.

Ask Gauss

Damn it is Sunday already? Where did my weekend go? Regardless it is Sunday, which means it is time for Ask Gauss. The post of the week where we just answer a few of the questions I have been sent throughout the week. And yes I will once again say if you don't know how to send in your questions it is very simple. There is a link on the top right of the page, or you can jsut email them directly to gaussafication@gmail.com. Now getting that out of the way once again we can get to this week's questions.

With your speeches post, who do you think is up for making such a speech?

Well I would love to see a speech from Nozdormu telling us what the future has in store and how we all need to be ready for what is at stake. I would also love to see Thrall tell us what the fate of the world is when he returns from his elemental bonds. The thing is though I don't think this will be the next epic speech moment we will see. Soon we will be going into the Firelands to deal with the firelord once and for all. This is the story of druids trying to save the world tree to make Azeroth whole as it should be.

So who would be standing there in front of the Armies of the Horde and Alliance to guide us to victory? Well there is the idea that Hammul would speak to the Horde and Malfurion would speak to the Alliance. This really wouldn't do it for anyone and Blizzard knows this. Sure they could both make the same speech tailoring to their faction, but that wouldn't do justice. If you had to pick one of them it would be Malfurion, but even if he is the druid of druids he is Alliance tried and true and it just wouldn't be the guy you want there. So then who? Well to me the answer is simple, Cenarius. It will happen and you can quote me on it now.

The Proc for Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest may have been announced, what you think?

In practice I think the proc is a great idea to increase the effectiveness of the weapon and its purpose. To be great DPS. Although, I am kinda disappointed that the proc itself is so boring. If you think of the other legendaries. Sulfuras had a constant fire damage and fireball proc, Thunderfury had whirlwinds of doom, Atiesh ported you to Kara and group mp5 or SP, The Warglaives had a haste proc, Thori'dal gave range speed and required no arrows, Val'anyr put healing bubbles all over the raid, and Shadowmourne had the purple swirlies of death. And now their idea is to just make a spell hit twice? Like I said DPS wise it is probably an awesome choice, but compared to the other procs on the legendaries it is boring and dull and I am just disappointed

Druid tier what you think?

I think that is what happens when you are not paying attention and you crash into a tree.

That is it for this week hope you all got your questions answered and dealt with. Next week's Reader Post I want you all to send in your idea for the proc on the new legendary. As always you have until Thursday night to get them in. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

The Return Of The Timeless One

So first off this post does contain a slight spoiler so if you are not interested in that then please don't read it and complain about it. You have been warned, so all of you can now stop writing your hate mail. It is Friday so it does mean it is time for this week's Reader Post. This week I asked you all to send in your thoughts on the return of Nozdormu as has been seen to happen during the start of the Elemental Bonds questline. So with that little explanation let's see what you all had to say

I think it's kind of silly of them to bring back Nozzy now without explaining anything at all. It would have been better to give Nozzy his own quest line, explaining his absence and everything thats happened like the hourglass event you mentioned, then bring him back for thrall's quest. But meh, this is Blizzard we're talking about.

I think he is returning in good time to progress the story further. I hope he just doesn't show up and have no explanation at all, but I am glad he is back and coming to the newly formed rebirth of the world tree probably to bless it makes sense. Since he did that originally. One thing I don't understan with no explanation is how he new to come? From Day of the Dragon we know that Nozdormu is there for the Death of Deathwing because of the very fact that he stated that Deathwing would be eventually part of his collection. So I guess I am really saying I am glad he is back.

With him returning maybe we will finally get some answers about the Infinite Dragonflight? Like I think it is pretty obvious that he is the leader, but the question of how and why is what we want to know. Is this a lead in to the caverns of time in 4.3? This is one of the most interesting story arcs wow has and I am beyond excited to see it play out.

I know this is kindof a sidebar but, didn't Nozdormu used to have a pretty bad speech impediment? Shouldn't his one line be more like "Time is preciousssss sissssster. Let us sssssee to our ritual". Shame they changed it, I thought that was a rather fun thing about his character. Anyway I know I shouldn't be assuming things based only on the dialogue of the event but it seems a little bit lame to me. Did Fandral seriously just walk into that meeting and kill Thrall, the "most powerful shaman on Azeroth", in front of two dragon aspects, the greatest druid that has ever lived and his pissed off girlfriend?

He was never gone. He said himself he's in multiple places at once.

There they are. Thank you to everyone who sent something in, it is very much appreciated and this post couldn't happen without your involvement. Look for next week's topic during Ask Gauss on Sunday and you can be part of next week's post. Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Speeches

So one thing that I think that has been missing from Cataclysm so far is that epic trademark speech moment. Sure there have been some great dialogues, but no direct speeches. When I think of some of the great speech moments in WoW I think of these  are some of the most epic moments WoW has ever had. Here are my favourite from each expansion so far if you need some proof.

"I am Saurfang. Brother of Broxigar. You know me to be the Supreme Commander of the Might of Kalimdor. An orc - a true orc warrior - wishes for one thing: To die in the glory of battle against a hated enemy. Some of you have fought in battles. Peace has been with us for many years. Many years we sat idle but many years we battled. In those years - where strife the land and Legion and Scourge sacked our homes, killed our families - these insects dwelled beneath us. Beneath our homes - waiting. Waiting to crush the life from our little ones. To slay all in their path. This they do for their god. And for our gods? We defend. We stand. We show that as one. United. We destroy. Their god will fall. To die today, on this field of battle, is to die an orcish death. To die today is to die for our little ones. Our old ones. Our… loved ones. Would any of you deny yourselves such a death? Such an honor?"

-Varok Saurfang

It was called the Sunwell...

A sacred fount of untold power, it saturated every fiber of our being. In the warmth of its glow, we thrived...until the shadow of death fell upon us. Only after the Sunwell's destruction did we realize how dependent we'd become upon its magic, how much we needed to feed! In the wake of our devastation, I named our people "sin'dorei" -blood elves. My people turned to me for answers. I promised them a cure. Strangely, we found deliverance in the demon Illidan. Illidan offered new sources of arcane power, and so I joined him in Outland - pledging to return one day to lead our people to glory! But Illidan's agenda was short-sighted. I grew impatient. In secret, I began harvesting what energies I could. I had a brief taste of TRUE power...before it was taken from me! But...all is not lost. The Sunwell's essence endured, kept hidden by those who sought to protect it. Now, I have returned with the knowledge that sacrifices must be made before we can reclaim our birthright. I have forged a new alliance. Soon, the blessed rays of the Sunwell will shine once again, and usher into this world the one to deliver us all.
-Kael`thas Sunstrider

"Rise, Darion...and listen. We have all been witness to a terrible tragedy; the blood of good men has been shed upon this soil. Honorable knights, slain defending their lives...our lives. And while such things can never be forgotten, we must remain vigilant in our cause. The Lich King must answer for what he has done and must not be allowed to cause further destruction in our world! I make a promise to you now brothers and sisters: The Lich King will be defeated! On this day, I call for a union! The Argent Dawn and the Order of the Silver Hand will come together as one! We will succeed where so many before us have failed! We will take the fight to Arthas, and we will tear down the walls of Icecrown! The Argent Crusade comes for YOU, Arthas!"
- Tirion Fordring

So will we see an epic speech like one of these in Cataclysm? I really hope so. Not that I don't appreciate the great dialogues that have happened, but speeches are really where it is at and I think you all would agree on that.

Warrior Tier 12

So I know that a lot of the tier models have been out for awhile. Some of them look rather special. Have you seen the druid preview? What were they thinking on that one? It is like someone went on the acid trip of all acid trips. Anyways, it isn't often that I like the look of the warrior set, but this one I do. Of course, with there being the epic chin on this set makes it look pretty awesome. It isn't like the Tier 11 which looked like it could have passed of for a mail set. This one looks intimidating and well put together and all the colour options, whichever they pick are suited very well. At least they didn't keep that flaming mask model they had at one time, that was really hard for me to get around.

This is a set that I will not only be excited  to be wear, but will also be in a raid that I will be excited and pumped to do. Firelands looks as I have said before looks beyond amazing, and I hope it will put some motivation in people to start focusing on raiding and not just playing the game and getting their points.

You Fail At Complaining Thrall Is In The Spotlight If...

So here we go again everyone's favourite day of the week, Fail Day. The day of the week where we make it a point to make others feel like crap about the things they fail at. I know, I know some may think I am an awful person, but I just tend to think of Fail Day as if it were a public service announcement. This week's post comes to us because I have had about enough of the complaining. So here you have it

You Fail At Complaining Thrall Is In The Spotlight If...
  • You are Alliance and go on and on about how Blizzard favours Horde
  • You forgot about the whole Velen in Burning Crusade thing, or Tirion in Wrath
  • You are part of the Jaina and Thrall fan club
  • You think there is someone else who is even capable of taking Thrall's place
  • You know nothing about the lore to know why it is Thrall and no one else
  • You forget Thrall is a member of the Earthen Ring
  • You go on and on about how this means Thrall will never be Warchief again
  • You just state he will be another Bolvar and serve no purpose
  • You think Thrall cannot die because he is Mezten's love child
  • You create a 20 page thread about how Thrall learned to stand up straight
  • You forget or have no idea Thrall is the first of the "new" shaman
  • You think you are showing your intelligence by stating Thrall is a "Mary Sue" character
  • You could careless what Aggra thinks
and finally
  • You go on and on about Thrall saving a world he is not even native to. Forgetting he was born on Azeroth
And there you have it that is it for this week. Hope you all got a good laugh at someone else's expense. Good luck on this another Free Loot Tuesday.

I've Been Everywhere

Well it is Monday again, and just as we do every Monday we showcase a machinima for everyone to sit and enjoy. Today I am going to show you all "I've Been Everywhere" which is of course a parody of Johnny Cash's song. This has been done by the people at World Of Filkcraft. They have been making some great songs for quite some time and I really recommend that you take some time to check out some of their songs. So without making you wait any longer here it is

Hope you enjoyed it and good luck in your last day before reset.

Ask Gauss

So it is Mother's Day and anyone out there who is a deserving mother out there then I wish you the best. Anyone who just uses the day to milk something they shouldn't get recognition for then you are the bane of everyone's existence they well you will get what is coming to you. Anyways, enough of that rant. Today is Sunday meaning it is time for Ask Gauss. The post of the week where I answer the questions put forth by all of you. If you are still clueless as to how to send in your questions well it is pretty simple. Just check the link on the top right of the page or just send the emails directly to gaussafication@gmail.com. Enough of all that, time to answer some. As a note there are spoilers in some of these answers so I would suggest not reading the question and answer if you are interested in it being a surprise.

So it was revealed that it was Fandral, you happy with it?

Well they, of course, needed to put something in to explain how he all of the sudden is the Majordomo to Ragnaros. So this really does put it into mind that he is in fact a "bad" guy. Secondly this kind of ties into how Twilight's Hammer and Ragnaros are connected. It also leaves some unanswered questions. Like is Deathwing running the Twilight's Hammer and always was? Since Cho'Gal is dead this would be a logical conclusion. This also states it clearly that Ragnaros serves Deathwing, something I am not completely a fan of, but it works regardless. One thing also Malfurion says in the dialogue that he has corrupted druids, does this mean there will be a whole new form of druids we will fight against. Druid's of the Flame perhaps? One thing I am not comfortable with though is Fandral, a druid, being able to use shamanistic powers. To me this seems wrong and I hope it turns out that Fandral was just acting out something prepared by Deathwing instead of him preforming it himself.

So Nozdormu is back, any idea?

This puzzles me as well since he is supposed to be missing. Sure we saw him in Northrend at the Bronze Dragonshrine, but what truly has he been doing? I find this very odd with him coming back and we hear nothing of the Infinite flight. Are we just supposed to ignore what we have been thinking about for years since we first saw the Infinite flight. If they just bring him back without a long explanation of what has been going on then it doesn't make any sense. Does he just show up to this meeting without saying a word? Does everyone accept him just showing up and not asking questions with everything that has been going on? I think that would be pretty impossible for anyone to accept.

Have you had a successful ZG or ZA pug?

If by successful you mean killed the last boss, then yes. If you meant if I wanted to bash my head against a wall because it would be less painful, then no.

So there we have it, questions answered for the week. Hope you all got some useful information. Next week's Reader Post I want you to send in your opinions on the return of Nozdormu. As always you have until Thursday night to get your submissions in. Enjoy what is left of your weekend.

Who Is Responsible?

Friday is here everyone and besides it being the end of the work week and looking forward to that you have the weekly Reader Post. This week's post I asked all of you Lore nuts like me to send in your theories on who you think are behind the attacks against Thrall. If you want to see my thoughts on the subject you can check back and look at Sunday's Ask Gauss post where I went into some detail on my thoughts. If you have read that well her is what others are thinking

Well Azshara also could, but she doesn't have any reason to risk it. Garona probably could but her mind control has been broken. It could be that it's Archibshop Venedictus (the SW priest who was supposed to be with the hammer but then got his storyline removed) or even Rommath.

We all know who the agent is... Fand- erm, Majordomo Staghelm. They have to explain how he is somehow a fire druid now. Although why he would be at that meeting I really have no answer for. There is that green dragon though that was in charge of watching over him so who knows.

I say it was Millhouse Manastorm. With the candlestick. In the Maelstrom.

I agreed that Magatha is behind the attacks on Thrall BUT, ultimately, I think it's something we haven't faced before, something deep in the lore that's not been mentioned directly. I think Magatha is corrupted by Deathwing but I think he will use her until he's gotten everything he can and discard her like a used paper towel. I think he and Cho'gall will argue about things but Deathwing will, ultimately, destroy Cho'gall, maybe with our help. Yes, I know there is a raid to kill Cho'gall but I don't see Cho'gall as relinquishing any power granted to him. Lord Aston said, "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." I see Cho'gall as rising up and saying, "I have tasted power and you are but a dragon." I think the same could happen with Ragnaros. We get used by a boss to defeat another boss. And why? I think a Titan has become corrupted. A creator of the world on which we live has decided he does not want to play nice with the other titans. He or she has slowly worked in secret to deflect his corruption onto lower life forms. I can see an expansion, maybe 2 or 3 ahead, where we have to fight a corrupted titan. It would not be on Azeroth but on some other plane. It would be a huge battle. I wonder if they could do a battle where you start it, fight for 2-3 hours and then come to a point where you're transported out of battle to "regroup". Then you could come back in the next day or at a later date that week and pick up where you left off. Or you start it, but then you have to go gather some things to continue on. Players may not like that kind of a battle, but I would love it. Make it a case where you have to gather allies to do some sections of the battle, although that should be an option, and that would be most epic. Where would Blizzard go after making a battle like that? There's always some creature who could be passing by in the universe and decide "Oh! I'll take over this planet."

And illusion isn't really that difficult of a magic to use, or at least I wouldn't think it is as it never usually is, so it could be anyone really. A leader of the Twilight Hammer, Fandral, who knows. Either way, he disguises himself with magic and I'd imagine the three aspects are Red, Green, and Bronze, since Blue doesn't really have one and Black is...well, yeah. If Blue had a -powerful-, key word, aspect there, then I would question it as you'd think the protector of magic could see through that.

I hope Garona killed Thrall! She was always one of my favorite characters! And it would definitely make sense lorically! Although Cho'Gal is dead and therefore the mindcontrol would not be in place. But a rogue sneaking in and killing someone is pretty possible.

Deathwing...you may have betrayed the dragon aspects...you may have sided with the old gods...you may have shattered the world, killed countless people, and brought a new age of suffering upon the world....but this.....THIS is where you crossed the line! In other words I think Deathwing crashes the party.

That is it for this week. Thank you everyone for your submissions they were very much appreciated. If you want to take part in next week's post look for the topic during Sunday's Ask Gauss post. Have a great weekend everyone

New Models

So for all of you who haven't seen MMO Champions' post about the new models that are comming to WoW in 4.2 you are in for an amazing treat. I am just going to share a few with you, but make sure you take a look at them all and see what we are in store for.

Horde PvP mounts most likely fro mthe rated battleground achievements. These look amazing. If you want to see the Alliance ones go to MMO Champion because I refuse to link anything Alliance.

Fandral's model, and I always thought a druid would look crappy in there gear. I guess the solution is to set them on fire.

Lord Anthrycist's lava form. Pretty amazing looking although I am a bit confused how you could fight a boss made of molten lava. Other than that it looks cool.
Umm ya... Getting Rudolph cuteness nightmares as we speak.

Walking form of Ragnaros has been revamped. Looks much more intimadating then the orignal and that is obviously a great thing.

So this is just a few of them make sure you go check them out especially if you think these models are pretty awesome looking

Hatchling

So I haven't had a chance but I want to say good on Blizzard for creating this pet for the purpose of raising money for Japan. What I want to point out is that Blizzard was already matching their employees donations in kind and on top of that they are doing this. This speaks volumes for a company that gets a lot of flack for being all about themselves and only caring about money. Just think about when the Rudolph mount was released people were all over Blizzard to put the money earned to the Japan relief effort. I am proud they didn't cave in to the people who were all over them. Blizzard has always been great for charity and this and the moonkin hatchling are great examples of it.

So thanks Blizzard for showing the compassion that you have and sticking to your guns at the same time.

You Fail At ZA and ZG If...

So Fail Day is here once again and after a week going by since 4.1 I was able to compile a list of fail through just one week of spending time in our new-old instances. Also want to thank everyone who actually sent in some of their own failure stories from the past week, which made this Fail Day full of potential. So lets just have at it.

You Fail at ZA and ZG If...

  • You have not got the achievement off of the snake boss
  • You died on your way into ZG from not clicking on the green cauldron
  • You are not saddened by the Bloodlord not saying DING when he levels up
  • You nuke the panther boss without pulling packs of panthers
  • You found the Zanzil encounter difficult to understand what to do
  • You couldn't do what Jarjar could and stay inside the bubble
  • You decide to hug the boss in the edge of madness when he does his lightning rod
  • You find the concept of standing under the person being picked up by lightning difficult
  • The charge mechanic on the bear boss for some reason seems more complicated then the assault on Bin Laden compound
  • You kill both handlers, but then proceed to not do an ounce of damage on the birds that massed spawned
  • "Kill totems" seems to represent a saying in Swahili since you have the largest problem actually listening when told to do it.
  • Your method of lets CC this pull is just mark it and pull without saying anything
  • You enjoy watching scouts bashing on the drums and calling more adds
  • "Stand in the rectangle" is followed by you standing in the one place that has round edges.
and finally
  • You have a bunch of green gear, but purchased PvP gear just so your ilvl was high enough to get inside.
There we have it, this week's edition of fail. Hope you all enjoyed it and haven't had to go through what I have or the horror stories others have told me. Good luck on this Free Loot Tuesday

Rude Awakening

Well it is Monday morning and as with every Monday it is time for me to showcase a Machinina. Rude Awakening is a machinima that I have known about for awhile and having been waiting for the right day to show it to all of you. The presentation and editing in this are extremely well done and I was impressed as I am sure you will as well. I do not know if this is an introduction to a future machinima if it is it will be high ranking among the best machinima if the creators maintain the same high standards. If this is the only thing we will see with this story then I will also be happy because of how well it was done. With that there is enough talk, I will just let you sit back and watch this marvel.

Ask Gauss

So Sunday is here once again, which other than the end of the weekend it means it is time to go through my mail and answer some of it. Although, don't take that I only answer mail once a week even if you have sent something and it appears that way... Anyways, answering mail here within this post is what we call Ask Gauss. So instead of rambling on and on and on I will just go ahead and start answering.

So the Firelands is only going to have 7 bosses, and I thought what would Gauss say?

I would say that 7 bosses is probably the perfect number to an instance. You see in my opinion two of the best raids Blizzard ever made, which were challenging and had encounters, which were not just gimmicks were found in 2 raids, Blackwing Lair and Sunwell Plateau. These instances had 8 and 6 bosses respectively. Now Firelands will not only have 7 encounters to go through, but Blizzard has stated that the Ragnaros encounter on Heroic will be a different encounter as a whole and not just a harder version of the Original. This is actually great news something people have been asking for quite awhile.

The issue I think people will have with 7 bosses is it being done to quickly, which with the way Cataclysm content has gone so far I don't see this being a problem to the masses.

So Thrall is finally getting some serious time in the limelight, this good?

Well Thrall as all lore junkies know is probably one of the greatest Lore Characters this universe will ever have. He connects to both Alliance and Horde and has the feel about him that regardless of your standing you cannot help, but be a supporter of Thrall.

To me though the interesting part is Thrall is sent into the elemental planes by a member of the Twilight's Hammer. Who could this be? There is talk that Staghelm is this person and this is what pushed him over the edge. I am not really sure how this would put him into the Firelands, but I am sure everything could be explained. When thinking about someone who could have the power to do such a thing  a couple things came to mind. An Old God, and this of course I assume would be possible, but is an Old God a member of the Twilight's Hammer? Not really because Twilight's Hammer worships the Old Gods. My second thought would be Queen Azshara, who again isn't a member of the Twilight's Hammer to our knowledge, but has enough power to destroy pretty much anything. The fact of this point is Blizzard stated she would not be a boss or a major player in this expansion. So then I kept thinking. If someone was sending someone to the elemental planes they would have to have knowledge of the elements and a shaman in their own right. This got me thinking, a powerful shaman as part of the Twilight's Hammer? Who could it be? Well then it was simple...Magatha

What is a dead undead Deathknight?

A myth DKs don't die.

That is it for this week. Hope you all got the answers you seek. For next week's Reader Post I want you all to tell me who you think is behind the attack of Thrall. As always you have until Thursday night to get your submissions in. Enjoy what is left of your weekend.
