The Orphan's Future

With Children's Week now here it is time to talk about something that I find rather interesting with Warcraft Lore. This has to do with the Burning Crusade Orphan quests, Salandria the blood elf orphan or Dornaa the Draenei orphan. Sure you go around doing all sorts of quests showing them the sights of Outland and of course their home capital cities. The quest that sparks the lore interest in me is the one where you go to the Caverns of Time. If you weren't paying attention the bronze dragon guards try to attack and kill your orphan. They are only stopped by Zaladormu who says

"she will not be punished for things she might do or fail to do in the future"

Also when you give them their dragon toy they say respectfully "Someday I plan to own a real one" and "One day I hope to be lucky enough to have a dragon as a friend".

So what does all this mean? Well it very well could be nothing, but I don't buy it. For me why would the bronze dragons attack them? They know something is going to happen they do of course live in time. So it would have to effect time in some way. This leads me to the conclusion that they are some how connected to the Infinite dragonflight in some respect. I guess we will all just have to see though.

  4. My favorite is personally the orc orphan, when you take him to the lorderon throne room 'when I grow up, my blade will be guided by honor, never by evil'. Hear that Garrosh? The future generations are against you.

  5. I tend to think you might be correct in some way on this one. Maybe the orphans are some how connected to Nozdormu. Maybe they are the ones that kill him? Who knows but I guess we will just have to wait to find out.

  6. so the way I look into it is one of them does something(bet on the bloodelf) and the other fails to stop them from doing so(Draenei).

    @Pickly

    I like your swing that they may be responsible for the death of the timeless one. Would explain why the dragons were so hell bent on killing them.

  11. I don't think this is a red herring...the importance of the Orphan is confirmed when you speak to O'ros who says "she is very special indeed...will grow up one day to be an important figure" (for the Dranei) - presumably an equal comment made upon completion of the Blood Elf quest as well.

  12. Oh and at level (or "age") one, she is able to summon elementals; Farseer Nubundo postulates that she has inherited this power from an ancient ancestor. Any takers on who the ancestor may be?

  13. So it appears I am not getting updated on comments, but I will tend to this. My thinking is we may not know the answer to this until we visit Argus. Now the questions of what is left on Argus is also quite a tale. Is it a ravaged world or is it a stronghold of the burning legion. Guess we will just have to wait to find out.
